Big Boy Baby Again

[Chibi Tom]

7 year old Tom was restless as he slept. He was being plagued by horrible nightmares and intense loneliness. He woke up with a start, glaring at his soaking wet sheets. He slammed his fist against his bed and started sobbing, he missed his parents so much. It was worse when he was alone too; that way he had only his thoughts to keep him company. He couldn't ignore all his pain that way, still he at least had his big sister. They weren't exactly close before it happened, but it was still better then nothing.

Ellie groaned, eyes slowly cracking open. In the darkness of the living room, the only light was the blue glow cast upon her from the TV. She didn't recognize the show; it was some old rerun and the television was muted. She slowly rose, wrapping the blanket around herself and standing up. She didn't know what time it was, but the girl knew it was the middle of the night. She pushed her wavy, dirty golden hair out of her face, and made her way upstairs. However, she heard some sort of commotion from her brother's room. Crying..?
"Tommy?" She asked with a yawn, cracking the door open. The room was almost completely black, except for the nightlight that illuminated the outline of her brother in bed. "Tommy?" She repeated. "You okay...? Another nightmare?" She inquired softly, yawning

"N-no, I'm f-fine." He denied, trying to fight back his tears. He didn't want to show Ellie how vunerable he was. "I just had an accident." He admitted, thinking that might get his sister off his back. After all, he doubted she'd want to deal with a big boy that still peed his bed like a dumb baby! That's what she always said before everything happened after all. He always thought she didn't like him, and he didn't care, even though his parents used to assure him that she loved him. He didn't believe them; he had no reason to think that fact would change.

"You sure?" She asked with another yawn, sitting on the foot of his bed. When he said the next part, she kind of jolted up with a start, and looked him over. "Oh... are you okay?" She asked, not reassured at all that he was fine. "Get up, you can get changed and come in my room. We can wash your stuff in the morning." She said with a small sigh. She wasn't mad or annoyed, just too tired to deal with it.

He hesitated for a moment before nodding. He didn't want to sleep in his soaked bed any longer than he had to. Even if that meant sharing a bed with someone he thought hated him. He got up, peeking the covers off of himself. He went to his drawers and grabbed a clean set of underwear along with some pajamas. He waited for Ellie to leave, so he could get changed. He wasn't comftsble enough around her to change in front of her.

"Tom, maybe..." Ellie paused, chewing her bottom lip for a moment as she thought. "I don't want you any more wet than already. And I don't my bed wet. You should... you know, maybe put on..." she didn't finish her sentence. She knew her little brother knew what she was talking about, and she didn't want to embarrass him any more by saying it. She put her head down and left, heading into her room. She climbed into bed and climbed under the covers, all wrapped up in her covers.

"B-but, I'm not a baby!" He whined childishly. He didn't argue anymore as Ellie left the room. Frowning because he knew his sister had a point, he stripped naked then went into his closet. He found an unopened package of pull ups from when he was still potty training a few years back. Sighing, he slipped on the pull up and then put the new pjs on. Quietly, he crept out of his room and went over to Ellie's.

Ellie really didn't have the energy to argue with her brother. She was way too tired to get into it with him. And frankly, she felt bad for the kid, and for once she pushed back her usually blunt nature. After a few moments, she heard her brother enter. "Keep the lights off." She mumbled, yawning again and closing her eyes.

"Sure." He responded, a little slept himself. Trying not to shudder as he remembered what happened the last time he was in this room. It wasn't pretty, his butt was sore for days after! He climbed into bed next to his sister. "I'm wearing a pull up." He told her, wanting to assure her that her bed would probably be dry when she woke up.

Ellie lay still, until she felt the bed move as her little brother climbed in. She rolled over to face him, pulling back the blankets to let him climb under. Once they were comfy she pulled the covers back over them. "Good." She said with a yawn, offering him an apologetic smile. "Anyways, try to get some sleep Tommy." She said softly
