Making a diaper?

I still live at home, as I'm only in high school. There are times when my mom leaves, and I was wondering if there is an efficient way of constructing a makeshift diaper out of some stuff I got that can be thrown away. I got shopping bags, toilet paper, etc- most of the usual stuff. If anyone has ideas on how to make one, then that would be awesome.

Plus, it would be best if its a bit leak proof

One thing you can try is going to the car care section of wal-mart, you might find cloth diapers sold to get a better shine when waxing your car. I would recommend stuffing old underwear w/ 'em and perhaps cut some small holes in the corners of a plastic shopping bag, although this is more leak retardant than leak-proof.

Home made diapers are never as good at preventing leaks or absorbancy. If you are going to be throwing stuff out anyway, you should get a package of diapers and hide them

I would suggest either buying disposable diapers and hiding them (I've successfully done it many times =D) or like previously saidwhere you stuff old underwear with hose cloth diapers and put a shopping bag over it. I also recommend the use of maxi pads or something inside your makeshift diaper

When I was younger, I once made an entire diaper completely out of toilet paper and scotch tape. Probably not the best idea, as the material had no real structrual strength.

I will probably never make a makeshaft diaper again, as it can't compair to the real thing. If you must make one, I would use old underwear to hold it up, and some old clothing as the stuffer. You can make a small pad by unrolling say, half a roll of toilet paper into a roll 1 square wide. A plastic bag with holes cut in it does make a crinkly outer cover, but you should try not to wet it badly enough to need it as a leak retardant.
