It was a beautiful summer day, the type of day Most kids enjoyed spending their time out at the beach or in the park hanging out with friends, but unfortunately for one Ruby Rose this definitely was not the case. Instead of swimming with friends she sat in a closet by herself swimming in anguish and frustration. Ruby’s mother disappeared when she was very young and because of this Ruby spent much of her life without a true maternal figure around her, she hated feeling like this but it seemed to be happening more and more frequently as she got older. Sometimes she wished she could just stay young forever, like a baby even; anything to avoid growing up.

"Rubyyyy!"Weiss had made plans with her friends to come over from Atlas and have a hangout day. When she arrived, she was stopped by Yang, who told her that she hadn't seen Ruby all day and that her moods were changing. She was angry at the smallest things and throwing fits when things didn't go her way. And now that Weiss was here, she was search for the young girl. She's so damn small she could fit under a couch honestly. "Rubyyyy! Where are you?!"Weiss called out to her friend and sear hed through under every bed and in every closet expected in Ruby's room."Ruby?" She looked under the bed and she wasn't there. The last place was her closet."Ruby...?"She slowly approached the door and gave a small knock.

Ruby did her best to stay quiet but the whimpering and sniffling followed by small cries gave her away as she curled up in the corner of the closet wanting to stay alone I. The dark away from her friends so they didn’t have to see her in this vulnerable state She was currently in. She shuddered when there was a knock on the door “g-go away I wanna be alone.” She replied bitterly still crying openly.

Weiss heard her poor friend, there was no way her was going to leaving her alone."Ruby, did something happen? What's wrong?"She was growing more concerned. Ruby was always chipper and in a good mood. She was always the one dragging Weiss out to go do things. Weiss reached for the door handle and slowly pulled it open.

She turned to look at her with eyes full of tears “I-I...” she trailed off and threw herself into her friends arms unable to vocalize her needs but she wanted more than anything to be held at this moment.

"Whoa!"Weiss was caught a bit off guard by Ruby jumping out of the closet and inti her arms. She didn't want to drop Ruby but she couldn't quite maintain her balance for long so they both ended up on the floor with Weiss holding onto Ruby."Ruby?! Are you hurt? Did something happen?"

She was still crying openly “I-I...” she trailed off burying her face in her friends neck “my momma!” She cried out loudly still clinging to her friend for dear life not willing to let this moment slip away.

"Y-Your mother?"Weiss was a bit confused at first, Summer Rose had passed years ago when Ruby was little. "...You miss her?"She slowly sat up, hugging her friend. Grieving wasn't easy, especially the lose of a parent.

She nodded slightly “I don’t really remember much... she left when I was still a child I just wish she was still here Weiss, I can’t keep up with everything I can’t lead a team the way that I am right now...” she whimpered and stayed curled up in her friends arms.

"But you're doing great, Ruby. You're a great leader and your never by yourself. Your team is here at your side." Weiss runned Ruby's back."Is there anything I can do for you...?"She asked in a soft voice.
