Gabriel Lovejoy woke up in a strange place. He looked around to see row after row of empty bassinets... well, empty for now at least. It looked like the infant wing of a hospital, only... the bassinets were sized for adults like himself. He looked up to see other people his age, various 20-somethings, falling down into the bassinets, asleep, while nurses patrolled around this strange location.

He sat up and looked around, only to see that, beneath the scrubs, they all had bright red skin.

"AAAAAAAAA!!!" Gabriel screamed, "Wh-Where am I!?"

"W-W-What!?" Gabriel exclaimed, shuffling backward into the corner of the bassinet, staring up at the fearsome creature looming over him, "Baby? Mommy!?"

Gabriel stood up in the bassinet, the only possible way he could meet the demon's gaze right now.

"N-No, you're misunderstanding!" Gabriel said, "I'm a grown man, and you are certainly not my mother!"

"Missss lilithy," The nurse said, pulling down her mask to reveal a forked tongue, her pupils narrowing into snake-like eyes, "Thissss one'ssss ssssssinssss sssstill need to be weighed on the sssssin ssssscale, to determine his new age. Then we can finalize the adoption processsss."

The nurse ushered them both towards a large scale (though small compared to the size of the demons).

"Wait, sins!?" Gabriel said, "You don't mean to tell me... But I don't remember dying! I wasn't like a bad person, or anything! Sure, I'm kind of a grouch, but I didn't actually do anything wrong!"

Gabriel was placed onto the scale, where he saw his sins tallied on the digital weight screen. "Didn't say please", "Didn't say thank you", "Frowned at others" and "Didn't share" were littered all over it.

"Come on!" Gabriel whined, "That's all little kid stuff!"

While the "sins" weren't immense, the sheer amount of them nearly caused the scale to break. Eventually, it spat out his new age.

"Four months!?"
