Sam can be verbally and emotionally abusive towards his son. He really does love his son and often use this as an excuse for his behavior towards him.

Sam pulled into his ex-wife's driveway and parked his car. He got out and walked up to her door and rang the bell. It was his weekend to take Jani and he wanted to take as little time dealing with his ex as possible. After about 10 seconds she answered the door. "Jani," she yelled into the house, "You're father's here."

"Hello to you too," he said. She glared at him, wanting to deal with him less that he wanted to deal with her.

Jani ran to the door and hugged his dad. "Hi daddy." He had his bag on his back and had a couple bags by the door. "How have you been? I missed you. I don't think mommy is too happy to see you though."

Jani nodded and grabbed his bags. He opened the back door and placed them inside and climbed inside. He knew they were going to argue and didn't want to see it. He reached into his book bag and grabbed his gameboy.

"Can we at least be civil infront of Jani?" He asked, trying to keep his voice down.

"I'll keep that in mind," She said quieter, but still angry, "By the way, he's been wetting the bed again," Sam rolled his eyes in annoyance at this, "Try to go easy on him"

Sam muttered a comment to himself. After a dirty look from his ex-wife he said, "I will. See you Sunday." He went back to the car, took his seat, and drove off.
