Here the two girls were. Both were from different upbringings and different tales of woe and hardship. But with their differences, they shared many likenesses and similarities. Both were at first reluctant to change, but eventually grew into it. Both were assigned caregivers whose methods they despised, but whose trust and eventual adoration they gained from them. And, of course, they had each other. Through thick and thin, through their past hardships to their reformation as innocent children and finally to their lives as lovers just as their "mothers" before them, they were together. Together forever, 'til death due them part.

Unable to control her own emotion after the kiss and her subsequent words, Brooke pulled Michelle in for one last kiss before breaking away and placing her head on her shoulder.

Now, she knew love and comfort, and had people in her life to continue to help support and nurture her (whether some might deem the method of doing so 'unconventional' or not). Regardless, none of what anyone else thought meant anything to the adult baby cuddled up with her lover. The hole in her heart had been filled. 'Little' Shelly was complete now.

Gently resting her head down against Brooke's, Michelle finally drifted off to sleep; a smile gracing her lips behind her pacifier.
