The Maxi Tena versions have been my 'go-to' diaper of choice for at least seven years now. They are very comfortable, reliable and secure. Despite their designation, I've never had any difficulty in wearing them under clothing, and like having the assurance of their high absorbancy. Personally, I know I can relieve myself at least twice without any fear of leaks, and find that even then the diaper gives you plenty of warning when reaching it's capacity. Unless you're going for an endurance record, you should definitely have managed to change by then. Mind you, I do generally now wear a cloth diaper to sleep in (when I wear one at all) and save the disposables for out and about, so don't have quite so much recent experience of them in that context.
Relatively recently, Tena seems to have upgraded this range of diapers to a 'cloth' style backing rather than the conventional plastic barrier. I was initially very skeptical about this, when my first pack of the new variety arrived, but although they no longer 'crinkle' in the same way, they now put me agreeably in mind of my original days with 'Drynights'. The softness of the outer is very nice, and I'm sure helps its discretion, as well as giving the diaper a more quality feel. It may be my imagination, but perhaps they expand and sag a little more, though, when wet. A pair of elastic shorts over the top is enough to ensure they still feel secure, however. Meanwhile, something I really like are the new re-adjustable tabs, which work more like velcro, meaning you can tighten things up on the fly, and as often as you wish, if required.
