Dark Ages (Private for me and Rye)

"I could go for something to drink." Jack agreed. A few moments later, a meek looking servant arrived with his head bowed, and set held out two large glasses of what Jack could assume was wine. It looked fancy too. Jack had never had wine, mostly because it was way too expensive and prissy for his taste. He took a swig, and puckered his lips, giving Luke a somewhat comical look of disgust mixed with surprised.

Luke took his goblet "nice , clear glass" he marvelled as he took a sip , coughing a little "that's a bit bitter" he said , taking smaller sips , he couldn't down this like the sweet ales and meads he was used to. Luke looked the servant up and down "food? Roast chicken...now!" he demanded , taking another sip and giving a face of disgust and sourness "the things I do..." he murmered , not really enjoying his drink. Even water would be better , it would at least be clean.

"I think I hate wine." Jack mumbled to Luke, as the servant ran off mumbling "yes m'lords" and other nonsense. To his defense, he returned with a chicken much larger and grander than Jack thought even the two of them could eat. They could certainly try however...

Luke pointed to a table "over there" he commanded where he sat it down. Look took up a sea and tore off a arm and sunk his teeth into it with pleasure "Seems to be a adult drink , lets ask for some fruit juice next time, a crushed orange or apple next time" he said downing the last of his wine so he didn't drag it out with small cringes and such.

Jack had at first not liked the taste of wine at all. Drinking it made his lips pucker and face scrunch up. He had grown somewhat used to it, though there weren't too many occasions where he drank it. He enjoyed this particular glass to some extent, and dug in next to Luke. He only looked up when he felt another presence at the table. Across from them, only a few feet away, sat a man. He looked to be in his thirties maybe, with grayish brown hair, and a seemingly friendly smile. "Hello boys, I believe you are Anabeyls children? Well, lady Renley formally, a Hothar before marriage. I'm Ned, her brother. I don't believe we've ever had the pleasure of meeting... Seems strange, I've never seen my own nephews before." He said.

Luke was tearing on a drumstick , gnashing the food with his mouth open , eating like he hadn't eaten in days , all manners gone from him as he tore in. The blond looked up. Licking a glob of chicken fat from his fingers. He nodded "Yea. Who's askin'?" he replied , taking a slower carnivorous bite. "Guess you're our uncle?" he asked , the man seemed nice , it was hard to stay mean. It showed in his face , looking like a innocent slightly scared little boy for a second before trying to pull his disguise back together.

Jack noticed how Luke was eating... It was an honest mistake, but could blow their cover nonetheless. He squeezed Luke's leg hard under the table, in attempts to get him to slow down while eating, and regain proper manners.
"I guess I am." Ned said, seemingly not having noticed Luke's manners, or the boy's exchange. "And I suppose since I've just learned I have two nephews, I'm a pretty bad one huh? Allow me to redeem myself, by showing you boys around a bit after your meal." He offered with a smile, sitting back in his chair and crossing his arms.

Luke slowed , taking a last bite an tearing the last strip off the bone and left it on the platter by the carcass. Licking his fingers and lips he cleaned himself up to return to looking normal. He didn't really think he needed manners , he was pretty sure nobles acted how they wanted due to their status , or at least that what it looked like from the outside looking in. "Really, well , nice to meet you then uncle" he said. He picked up the dagger stuck in the beast served to them and sawed a slice off , being much more dignified about than a few seconds ago.
