Dakota Smith was a young college woman walking through the snow of her small hometown. Her read coat and her black boots moved across the land of pure white as she approached her house. The woman finally aced her mid-terms and was off to give her mother the good grades she had gotten like the little bookworm she was. The brunette also appeared excited, too, as her mother promised her a little reward if she aced her mid-terms. The college girl had a little secret which her mother knows about. Her mother wasn't too opposed to it, which was surprising to her given her secret, but she found it quite cute. Dakota approached the door, opened it with her mittens, and walked right inside. Her glasses immediately fogged up due to the warmer air inside which blurred her vision for a few moments. "Mother, I am home!" Dakota greeted, stomping her boots on the black mat to get the snow off and taking them off and setting them aside the closet door.

Dianna Smith danced to the Christmas music she loved in the kitchen wearing an apron over her winter lounge wear of jeans and a fuzzy sweater, a washcloth wrapped around her coacoa colored hair to keep any strays from falling into her work. Her hands worked deftly and with grace as she mixed up the lumpy chocolate chip dough in the large ceramic bowl, dusting a tray with flour in a single quick dusting motion, smirking to herself at the similar motion it recalled. Looking up the smirk became a chuckle and she said "Look who it is! There's my college girl! I was so proud when I got your text I just HAD to have fresh baked cookies. I hope you don't mind."

Once Dakota's glasses cleared up and she could see better she took off her coat, revealing her red sweater with a busty chest and a black pair of pants. Setting the coat on the rack she grabbed her test papers out from her backpack and ran into the kitchen. The Christmas music did lead the girl over to there as it was a good indication that her mother was there. Indeed her mother was present and so was a bunch of cookies being baked. "That's right," Dakota confirmed, "Got straight A's on each and every last test of mine." The woman held out her papers, showing the good grades she had gotten on each sheet to her mother.

Before Diana started rolling out the lumps of dough she wiped her hands and walked over to her daughter, taking the handful of packets and flipping through them. She took her time, genuinely scanning the red marks, blessedly few as they were. The tiger mom obviously hadn't completely left the Smith household as she commented on the corrections she understood. "--But... All in all I'm very proud of you young lady. Making my alma mater proud is such a dream come true you brilliant little girl!" she congratulated, kissing Dakota's forehead. "Mind helping this old granny bake?"

When Dakota heard her mother say but her heart nearly jumped. Sure she got a few red marks but they couldn't be enough to bring disappointment to her? Luckily for the brunette that wasn't the case as she felt relieved that her mother was proud of the grades after all. The kiss on her forehead pretty much confirmed the matter. Thinking about the cookies Dakota decided that her reward that she was promised could wait for a little bit longer. "Okay," Dakota said, grabbing an apron and wrapping it around her waist, tying it securing to her back.

It wasn't long before the tray was lined with rows of little round cookie dough-balls and Diana was sliding it into the pre-heated oven. Shutting the yawning door she wiped her hands on a towel, passed it yo her daughter, and sighed "Now that that's done come out with it. I know I probably don't even need to ask, but how would my little girl like to be rewarded?"

It was quite a series of work and effort for Dakota but she had managed to get all the dough balls into place with the help of her mother. Once the towel was handed over the brunette wiped her hands clean and set it onto the counter top. She removed her apron and hung it up on a hanger nailed onto the wall. Now that the cookies are being baked she looked towards her mother with a smile. "You know what I want," she said kindly, "It's something I had been waiting for all semester."
