"No need to throw him under the bus. He's dealing with it in his own way you know" she replied sternly "and no need for you to make up excuses. There's nothing weird going on expet what you kids are imagining. I mean really. Aren't you a bit old for believing in monsters and getting scared of the dark" she replied , scolding her lightly for her reasons. "Well you promise but I'm sure you'll leak if I don't check often" he added , her two massive cents weighing in on her ideas. "Don't worry about Luke , I'm sure he doesn't think any less of you." she said , catching onto her insecurities. He has enough issues and can always use his big sis to soothe him when I'm not around , poor little one" she said as she finished up "now you head down , I'll tidy things up here" she said , sending her on her way while she packed the things away and went to wash her hands.
Luke was sitting downstairs outside on the porch on a couch , well it was really an outside bench with cushions on it. He was happily lapping up the morning sun and getting warmed for the day. It looked like he was sleeping again but really he was just sunbathing a little. He was waiting for his big sis to come down to propose what they should do today. Depending if Grandma didn't have any plans for them that is. He shifted a little causing a faint crinkle for his new underwear, causing a frown on his face but it was short lived, it was stuck on properly and he could easily ignore it , that is until he had a little accident but he was confident that that would not be happening.

Hayley bit her tongue for the rest of her Grandmother's comments, realising she'd said about as much as she could get away with for now, and it was time to nod mutely, even though she really didn't agree with anything her Grandmother said. Especially when it came to the monsters. Something weird really was going on. Only, even to Hayley that thought seemed silly in the clear light of day, so she could understand her Grandmother's disdain. After all, nothing had 'got' the old lady yet, had it, and she'd been here for all these years. Plus, Hayley was distracted almost immediately by the savage implication from her Grandmother that she needed checking or she might 'leak'. Not only did that imply she didn't trust Hayley's honesty if she did have an accident, but also that she was expecting her to have not just one but several. Mind you, Hayley still didn't really know what was expected of her now she had actually joined Luke in a diapered state. What was supposed to happen next time she did need a wee? Was she supposed to run and tell her Grandmother and get the diaper taken off, or simply do it in her pants regardless of whether it came down to an accident or not? Hayley wasn't sure she wanted to ask; she'd cross that bridge when it came to it.
She padded through the downstairs until she found Luke out on the porch.
"Uh, hi," she hovered in the doorway, not wanting to get too close in case he might sense her new diapered status somehow, simply from her body language or the like. "How are you doing?" She didn't want to say outright, but she was wondering first and foremost how Luke was feeling about his new constraints. Was he still going to be up for getting out and about and doing something today? Not that either of them could exactly go too far, like this. Plus swimming would be difficult, so it was a good job they'd taken that chance the day before. But they could go back to the chest; Hayley knew she still wanted to get into it and see. Maybe they'd think of something else, or at least think of a way of transporting it somewhere with more possibilities to work on it.

Luke opened his one eye and looked her over before closing it and taking a deep breath "Not good sis , not good. I'm not a fan of being a toddler again. Got out of it once and I'm not happy to be back. I'm guessing you tried to tell her about the scarecrows?" he asked looking out at the field. They were still there. Torn brown rags full of holes fluttering lightly and swinging round on their crucifixions. "Come on sit." he said motioning to the spot beside him "it really sucks this. These are too thick , and childish. You know what I've got on mine. I've got tickle me elmo and the count from sesame street." he growled "I'd kinda like to forget about this for a bit" he said with a sigh looking out over the empty yard.
"Well we've explored behind us and to the left down the road. We went into the corn and we're not doing that again. So that leaves taking the road straight down beside the cornfield or heading to the right to the barn" he said , "and I think grandma mentioned something about going somewhere but to be honest I don't want to go anywhere in public like this. At least not until I can walk right with them and hide it sufficiently" he added "We could always head down the road to the gas station , check out the curo shop or the abandoned diner there" he pointed out listing what they could do here at the farm. "I dunno , I just wanna get out and see people who don't know I'm back in potty training" he sighed , now noticing there wasn't a single farm hand in sight. Strange.

"I tried," Hayley nodded ruefully. "She thinks we're just making up excuses, and being infantile. Frankly... I can almost see her perspective, if she's lived here so long and never had anything like this happen to her, or even seen any sign of it. But we did see it, didn't we, and more than that?" She looked anxiously towards her brother, wanting him to once again confirm to her that she wasn't going crazy. Or maybe it would be better if she was; at least that was a concept she could understand, that she might even recover from, and that didn't mean their lives were really in mortal danger.
Suddenly the diaper she was wearing seemed utterly insignificant once again. Hayley came around to Luke and sat down on it, feeling a great deal of empathy as Luke laid out his own distress. From being desperately shy about such matters only a moment before, the pendulum swung right back the other way for Hayley, almost in a heartbeat.
"I didn't even look at what pictures were on the one she put on me," she revealed. "But I don't think it's so bad, or anything. I asked to wear one, if you were going to have to. It's only fair we both do, since we both had accidents."
Compared to Luke, Hayley felt relatively comfortable to move around despite what she was wearing. Perhaps it was her wider hips, or slightly different walking gait, but she didn't feel too terribly inhibited. Nevertheless, she didn't exactly want to go too far like this. It was one thing around the farm buildings, but the further out and about things took them, the weirder it was going to feel.
"How about the barn?" she suggested, thinking that if nothing else it offered somewhere they could hide away from their Grandmother's attentions, yet close enough to come scampering back if some kind of attention was actually needed. In fact, that might not be so bad, if she could bring a book with her and find somewhere to bury herself among the straw. Plus, they hadn't checked it out yet, as Luke pointed out, and it seemed relatively non-threatening in the light of day. Oh, plus maybe there'd be some kind of a hiding place there, and they could drag the safe back to.
Of course, what Hayley really wanted was some kind of fortress they could retreat to, tonight.
"Maybe we should see if we can do something to reinforce the room upstairs, at some point, too," she suggested, already wondering whether a wardrobe or other heavy item could be more reliably hefted across the doorways and windows. Or perhaps they could be tied, somehow, if they could find some rope. Not that anything she could think of promised to do too much against a truly supernatural force, but at least doing something of the sort would help make her feel like they were trying something. As far as the otherworldly nature of things went, what else could they try? Crosses, garlic, sharpened stakes, silver, holy water? That was all vampires wasn't it? Still, all stuff they might be able to get together. Previously, Hayley might have considered herself a rational atheist, but considering what she'd seen so far, she was prepared to try anything, up to and including an evening prayer begging for protection.

"Huh , she diapered you up too? Well I'm not surprised" he replied , starting to giggle a little "well , suppose I'm the big baby here so I'll be able to give you some pointers" he said , going down to smirking , the idea of his big strong sis in padding the same as him just tickled him "I-I didn't have an accident....I just wet the bed during storms , nothing serious. It's all being taken out of context and used against me" he sighed "they are soft and cushy though aren't they" he admitted quietly , his cheeks flaring up to a blush
"The barn , not very interesting but we might find something. You asked Gran for a shot gun but no way are we getting a hold of that. Even then these things are made of straw , why would buckshot do anything to slow them other than singe them and give them some tiny holes. Maybe a spade or something to decapitate them if they get close. I'd like somewhere to just hide from grandma though. She's too hands on when she's around." he said as he lumbered up onto his feet and started towards the barn , waddling as he did so.
The barn itself was a simple sort of affair , faded red paint and peeling white outlines of the huge twin doors and a upper window. One of the doors were left open while the other one was locked closed. Peering inside the place looked empty. There were large bricks of compressed hay stacked up towards the left side and the the right animal pens ,cleaned out and empty for now. No sense in keeping them indoors during the hot months. In the centre was a ladder which went up to a overhanding floor , looked secure up there. Must be used for storage during the winter. If the pulled the ladder up they could be safe up there. "You said we should go back for the chest today and move it. Wanna try getting it in here. Seems like no one comes in here for now" he said looking around at the tools hanging up by a workbench.

"I don't mind the feeling," Hayley admitted, shifting in place with the diaper tight around her. "It's kind of comforting. But, yeah, obviously nobody wants to feel like a 'big baby'... and I still don't know what she actually expects from us, in terms of the toilet. Are we actually supposed to just, y'know... do it in our pants... now?" It didn't seem like this kind of diaper was exactly designed to be easy to get on and off, after all; padded pull-up pants might be one thing, but there was a definite sense with this kind that they were wrapped up in them really rather definitively, come what may.
Hayley found herself pouting as Luke once again set about criticizing her momentary impulse to arm themselves with real life weaponry. It hadn't seemed quite so illogical at the time. Not having much personal experience with firearms, Hayley had had an image in her head of a shotgun blowing great Hollywood style holes through anything in its path, shattering even wood or straw into a fine mist of fragments before it. Luke's frank pragmatism poured fairly definitive cold water on that notion. Not that there was any chance their grandmother would let them within fifty feet of such an option now, anyway; she must already think they were completely crazy as it was. Imagine if Hayley ended up firing off a shotgun at some straw monster that their grandmother didn't believe in? She'd end up institutionalised or reported to the police, probably after receiving the punishment of her lifetime, whether it worked or not.
"Yeah alright," she toed the ground, moodily. "We know better what we're dealing with now, anyway. I don't think we can fight them, as well as we can hide or shut ourselves in. We haven't seen them pass through walls, at least, so I'm thinking a good enough barricade might still keep them out... not to mention, the old lady, too, if it came to it. Even if we're going to be in diapers, I'd rather you change me, than she did." Saying that, she couldn't help but think back to the events of last night; the idea that Luke had changed a pooey diaper for her was almost as surreal and unbelievable as the stuff that was happening with the scarecrows. All of this seemed like some unreal hallucination. If it wasn't for how clear and concrete the daytimes felt, like right now, Hayley could almost convince herself she was already shut up in some psychiatric hospital, and all this happening inside some dark recess of her head.
"The other thing I keep wanting to do..." she admitted, "Is just try standing up to the things, and see what happens. After all, they can't actually be going around killing and mangling people, or someone would know. Maybe they're, like, just ghosts, and there's nothing they can really do to touch us. After all, there's already no good reason either of us should still be breathing, if they could. But, yeah... it's a bit of a risk to try that."
She followed Luke off the patio and across the yard, not worrying about finding her shoes since they weren't going far. Just as long as the barn floor wasn't scattered with rusty nails and spiders, she was sure she'd be alright. When they got there, however, despite its aged appearance, it was remarkably neat and tidy on the inside, and Hayley walked in confidently. Right away, her eyes fixed on the ladder, and the roof-space up above. Talking about a secure location, that looked potentially far more defensible even than their bedroom.
"I do want to get that chest," Hayley nodded. "But I want to see up there, first." She already had a foot on the first rung of the ladder, gripping on tight. "I do wonder if we might just have found our Alamo..." Hand over foot, she rapidly made her way up, despite the awkwardness of the bulging diaper, and stuck her head through the hatch, straining her eyes to peer around the dark. Was it a completely enclosed space, with only that once entranceway to defend? And how clean and comfortable did it look up there? Was there anything they could use?
