Hamaya Clan Dossier –
The Hamaya clan might not be well known in the ninja world, but not for lack of trying. A nomadic without their own village the Hamaya are comprised of three major families acting as the leaders of the entire clan, Ito, Ryoushi, and Hamaya respectively. The Hamaya family itself acts as the head of the three families. Perhaps the most notable thing about the Hamaya clan is that as a whole they are at the forefront of practical practice of archery in the ninja world, boasting skills with the bow previously thought impossible even by ninja standards, this is mostly due to the branch families having an innate bloodline Buttai Myou (Object Life loosely.)
Generally the Hamaya clan can be identified by the fact that they carry a bow with them at most times, beyond that they are usually defined by red hair and the fact that they all wear purple armbands with a Taoist yin yang symbol stitched into them. While all members wear the purple armbands the placement of the Taoist symbol is different depending on the rank of member in the family, head members having both arms with symbols, and smaller families having no symbols respectively. While the bulk of the family is nomadic there have been reports of a small group of them living within Kumogakure, most often the nomads are employed for their superior tracking and scouting abilities. As well in battle the Hamaya clan is said to have two major advantages over most people, one being their superior concentration and sense, they seem to see the battlefield from all angles. The second advantage seems to be a much higher chakra pool than a normal ninja, though this is put quickly into perspective with normal chakra levels by use of their bloodline.
A couple of miscellaneous facts about the Hamaya Families:
-Hamaya typically have a stronger Chakra Pool than the other three families. The Hamaya family were originally Taoist Monks that helped the other two families fend off an attack by demons (or so the story goes.) And their roots as mystics has remained strong to date.
-Ito are generally the best archers of the bunch, they were originally in the service of a feudal lord of a long forgotten country as the royal personal guard of the feudal lord. It was said that before they became nomadic that they were able to take an invader down at over a hundred yards with enough accuracy to consistantlty to catch them between the eyes.
-Ryoushi are the original ninjas of the clan, and typically have the best senses and concentration of the three families, they were said to be the family that the ANBU operations were based off of with tracking skills that held up with the Inuzuka. Generally because of their concentration members of the Ryoushi family can maintain more Buttai Myou objects than other members of the family.
- Buttai Myou Defined -
Buttai Myou is commonly described as an aura or manipulation bloodline, put simply it allows the user to create a temporary chakra network inside of an inanimate object. This is a split of the users chakra network which means that the user has to sacrifice bits of their chakra with larger objects taking more chakra sacrifice than smaller. Strategically this allows the user to use the inanimate objects chakra as their own without having to touch of it, it is not altogether uncommon to see an arrow loosed by a Hamaya suddenly create a fireball in the style of a Katon jutsu. As well the Hamaya have specialized their arrow techniques with the Buttai Myou bloodline to allow for specialized jutsus.

Buttai Myou – Phantom Arrow Jutsu (D Rank Ninjutsu)
Genin of the Hamaya clan often have an affinity for launching arrows that seem to disappear entirely for a couple of moments, freeing them up to make more attacks while an arrow seemingly disappears from reality. At a time determined by the genin the arrow reappears back into reality coming from any angle that the Genin determines travelling at the speed that it originally left the bow. This does require a bit of concentration on the ninjas part to maintain the arrow in an alternate space, as well the arrow does have to reappear within a certain radius of where it was originally loosed (This does increase slightly with practice.)
Buttai Myou – Arrow Bunshin Henge (C Rank Ninjutsu)
Usually accompanied by a shadow arrow jutsu (I.E. Shadow Shurikens with arrows, where two arrows are launched and made to look like one.) The archer will usually intentionally miss, hitting tree trunks or the ground. This jutsu allows an arrow to transform into a perfect copy of the ninja that originally used it. Unlike a normal henge and bunshin this is a physical clone though it doesn’t last long due to the small amount of chakra that inhabits an arrow. Once transformed the clone immidietly acts by letting loose the arrow that was hidden by the previous shadow arrow before reverting back to a regular arrow (sans chakra network.)
Buttai Myou – Mark of Pennance (A Rank Ninjutsu)
One of the very few jutsus that has to be prepared before it is shot off, this allows a single arrow to act as a homing beacon for other chakra infused projectiles. When this jutsu is preformed it makes other arrows and objects seem to verge off their natural path to follow the target around. Usually this is done with a specially made arrow that has a hooked head making removal by standard means lethal if not outright dangerous. It should be noted that objects will seek the arrowhead and not the shaft so if the shaft is broken the arrows will still follow the head.
Buttai Myou – Phantom Volley (S Rank Genjutsu)
When this jutsu is preformed a clutch of arrows (usually about five or six depending on the skill of th archer) seemingly becomes thousands in a matter of moments. While most of these arrows are actually illusionary they still attribute to all the physical senses and can hurt if not sufficiently dealt with either by breaking the genjutsu or dodging the arrows entirely. These phantom arrows are interspersed with real arrows so even if the genjutsu is broken there is a chance that a few real arrows will strike if one is not careful.
- Downside of Buttai Myou –
It was previously stated that Buttai Myou does require the user to split parts of their chakra into the objects in order to create chakra networks with varying degrees of cost depending on the size. However there are two other factors standing against the ninja who uses Buttai Myou. First there is a high strain from the fact that users have to concentrate on each individual chakra network they’ve created in order to maintain them, paired with the strain of having to pay attention to the battle this can be quite a tax if they do not use the stored chakra as soon as possible. This strain also leads them to only having about four or five separate chakra networks lying around a battlefield at any given time, there are stories of more but that’s usually given to legendary members of the clan.
The second factor going against the user of Buttai Myou is the fact that while the chakra network allows them to perform jutsus from positions that they might not inhabit at the moment the user still has to perform any jutsu in its traditional manner. Meaning that they have to perform handseals where handseals are needed. In many cases this can double the cost as they have to use their own chakra in order to once again use the chakra infused object, causing a much greater strain in battle. As well when one uses a chakra infused object for any sort of jutsu its network dies after that meaning that one object can perform one jutsu.
