Too interestingly strange for the Shoutbox!
Hey all! I've come across some interestingly strange bits of news IRL that I would normally share with you guys and gals in the Shoutbox. However, rather than flood the Shoutbox with the amounts of news that I've amassed, I'd thought that it would be more practical to release them in this thread so that peeps can reference, read and/or comment on/discuss these little tidbits of information at their leisure. I'll start with three of the most, IMHO, interestingly strange news. Enjoy!
Kentucky Fried Chicken and Crocs have created a sandal that smells like KFC's fried chicken! See article here. I guess that's great news for KFC fans who have a footwear fetish. See reference article here.
The ultimate console gamer "Bling, bling" is now available! Preorder your 24K Gold Sony PlayStation 5 now! See article here.
A video editor going by the name of "Ctrl Shift Face", posted a video made with DeepFake technology that superimposed Sylvester Stallone's face onto Arnold Schwarzenegger's body in the beginning of "Terminator 2 Judgment Day" (The video starts with footage from "Last Action Hero")! Check out the video here.

LOL! That's strange. Those weird looking KFC Crocs are making me hungry! I wonder if Crocs will commission the artist MLMA again and team up with Burger King to make a Whopper Croc or with McDonald's to make a Big Mac Croc! You know that if Burger King does it then McDonald's will have to do it as well or vice versa!
The face swapping in that "Ctrl Shift Face" DeepFake video looks great for the most part though in some parts the facial distortion is very noticeable. The video resolution is of very high quality. I found a DeepFake edit by an editor named Jarkan that overlays Arnold Schwarzenegger's face on Peter Weller's Robocop armored body. The video is of very high quality and there is very little to no noticeable facial distortion. The facial overlay is almost seamless. It almost looks as though Arnold actually played the part in the RoboCop movie! There's also a funny off-sounding Arnold impersonation in the character's speaking parts -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3UlrQVO2914.

Those KFC Crocs may look weird (And smell good) but many people may be discounting the possibility that those strange looking shoes may be worth "Big bucks" some day as collectible art. Obviously, a few people are aware of this fact as the article says that the shoes are now sold out. It could be similar (Though to a much lesser degree) to like what happened with "The object" that was featured in Led Zeppelin's album jackets and produced as a limited edition sculpture (Only 1,000 were produced. See the following video -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J4TiFEnD-Os).

I agree - That "Jarkan" DeepFake video looks better than the "Ctrl Shift Face" one with its near seamless facial overlay. Thanks for sharing!
A prototype Covid-19 safe bodysuit called the "Micrashell" has been introduced as the next level of protection beyond PPEs. See the following article here.
The "Brokini", a bikini swimsuit designed for men, debuted this Summer! More information can be found here and here.
Capcom will release its new retro-gaming Home Arcade console for $399.99 AUD (or ~$287.70 USD) in October 25th 2020! Check out the console that's equipped with two arcade sticks and sixteen arcade buttons all housed in a console cabinet in the shape of the Capcom logo here!

That "Micrashell" suit looks too "colorful" for my taste. I'd prefer a solid colored suit. Perhaps one in all Medium Gray as shown but without all of the other colors or even a Medium Blue with luminescent white stripe trim on the edges of the contours like Disney did for the anthropomorphic Programs in TRON. I don't even want to know what they going to charge for that suit in its final form as I probably couldn't afford it anyway!
I think that only the die-hardest of Capcom retro gaming fans would plunk down nearly $290 USD for Capcom's new custom console (Granted, the case would look great in any "Man cave" hanging on a wall rack like a sign or when placed near a pinball machine). For $200 USD, you can buy the X-Arcade arcade controller that has the same number of arcade joysticks and buttons. In addition, the X-Arcade has a built-in trackball -> https://shop.xgaming.com/collections...l-usb-included. It is fully compatible with the MAME (Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator) which is free to download -> https://www.mamedev.org/. With MAME, you can play all of the sixteen Capcom games mentioned in that article and many other Arcade games from many other coin-op manufacturers thanks to the availability of game ROMs over the 'Net. If they lowered the console's price to be more competitive to the X-Arcade's price and made it so that it could also play MAME games then Capcom would have a better winner of a product.

The ''Micrashell" looks alot like the suit from the modern 'Prey' game to me ... So I can't help but think a cosplayer or someone who loves that game designed it .. Plus I could see someone with money to burn buy it to cut down on work making a prey cosplay

I also think that it would be cool if the aesthetics of the "Micrashell" suit followed a TRON theme (The CGI, especially the Light Cycle and the Tank, back then was stunning)! The initial retail price for that suit would probably be in the "If you have to ask then you can't afford it" range.

Yes, the Capcom console is most likely tailored to a specific market segment. I know about the X-Arcade controller and the MAME EMU. I also know that there are custom arcade cabinets that have a slot in the front to fit the X-Arcade controller and which cost $1,000 USD less than the cabinet that was "officially" made by X-Gaming specifically for the X-Arcade controller (e.g. - See here and compare features to the "official" cabinet here). For those peeps that can't afford an X-Arcade controller, there are less expensive arcade controllers like Eightarc's "Carbon" controller which retails for $59.99 USD (See here). You can get two "Carbon" controllers and optionally place them side by side for two player action. Eightarc also sells higher end controllers. The "Carbon" controller is their least expensive controller.

That's an interesting observation! IMHO, I thought that the "Micrashell" suit was "Taking a cue" from a new, skin-tight SpaceSuit that a MIT Aeronautics researcher was developing for NASA (See here).

Maybe Production Club, the creators of the "Mirashell" suit, could use you in their Marketing department. That's a creative way to sell the suit in addition to targeting it to peeps who want and can afford a higher end PPE.

Well the modern ' Prey ' Suit was based on at the time the game was being made images released on concepts for new space suit ideas/concepts NASA had so we both sorta are correct in that assumption just not the time frame .. Atleast if what has been claimed by those who worked on the games artistic designs claim are true

"The Ultimate Mask" costume for Halloween has arrived! Artist Tom Banwell has designed a series of replica Black Plague (Cira 15th century) doctor's masks (The famous "Quack" doctor mask). See blogspot -> here, official website -> here and Etsy shop here. The replica masks are offered for sale (The leather mask pictured below costs $189.99 USD) on Etsy just in time for Halloween (Disclaimer: The masks are costumes and NOT actual PPE. For masks that will actually protect against the Coronavirus, see the following thread, "The Ultimate Mask" -> here).
