Well, if any pain is involved, you will probably be under some anesthetic. (Actually if they are making incisions, you'll very likely be put to sleep for the entire process.)
After your surgery is complete is actually your main problem I'd imagine. Pretty much anything to do with teeth will tend to hurt quite a bit initially, but after a while it will generally dull to become just relatively annoying since you have to avoid doing things if you don't want your mouth to hurt.
I recommend eating a LOT before, then cleaning your teeth really well because eating after the surgery will be a pain. So taking measures to put that off may be a good idea.
