(Reprint of my partner's intro) “Carmen Sandiego” to those of us that grew up in the late 90’s and first years of the 2000’s, that name rings bells, most of them nostalgic, but when the VR came to us, we remastered the games we grew up with. But now, our old nemesis has returned, the worlds most notorious thief, few of us could ever catch her, and fewer still knew her backstory and where she came from, but a lucky few grew to know her. She wasn’t a thief, she wasn’t a bad women, she was starved for challenges, and that is when the great leap happened, someone in VR made the door to her world, to the world of Villains International League Of Evil VS ACME. And when Carmen gained a new title, and a slew of new challenges that took her from the world stage of crime, to the household and to where her new title was what she went by. Not Thief, not Escape artist extraordinaire, but Mom, simply, mom, and the thought of new challenges was what drove Carmen every day, playing the grey, helping to improve ACME while playing the criminal mastermind. Now her new challenges were around taking care of a child, and what do about bad dreams and wet diapers, and all things in between, and she had no experience in those fields, and she loved it while it made her panic as she tried to figure out the answers. But there is always trouble on the horizon when your last name is Sandiego, and your mom is the world’s premier thief.

Maggie, Carmen's daughter, was quite a happy child, and always grew and blossomed under her care. Whenever Carmen was alone with her, all else faded away, and she focused solely on her. At this moment, she was sleeping in bed with Carmen, wrapped in a blankie and nuzzled up against Carmen's chest. It always felt so warm and safe like this.

Carmen had given up her last name Sandiego in favor of her spouses last name, her daughter was attending kindergarten, Carmen had given up all the red in her life and had managed to fly under the radar. She was still a deviously cunning woman, and she was wondering if her daughter would inherit her brilliance, but she would have to wait, of course Maggie was required to be potty trained to attend school. But Carmen hadn’t enforced it as she taught her daughter and tried to ensure her daughter would be even smarter then her.

Maggie smiled a bit as her mother drove over to pick her up. "Hi, Mommy!" she beamed as she got in.

For Carmen, the voice of her daughter was a ring of hope to her, and what she enjoyed more then anything was the challenges, she wasn't supposed to have all the answers to all the questions her daughter would ask. That was perfectly normal. Although she was famous for being able to crack any vault or password, she didn't always know what to expect from a child.

"Good for you" Carmen says as she lowered her sun visor, the less anyone knew who she reallly was, the less anyone would bother her or her family. She had done numerous undercover missions before, but now, she was in the longest one of her life, she had always been steps ahead, and this was supposed to be no different. And she would let her daughter be oblivious to the fact as long as possible. That way, there was supposed to be as small a chance as possible that her daughter would become a world class thief like her.

Maggie smiled as they soon approached home. A familiar foul odor began to fill the car at this time. Maggie was quite attached to her diapers, and was grateful that Carmen didn't focus too much on toilet training.

"Once we get back home I need to change you dear, I do hope they aren't pressuring you too much to learn those plastic potties they have" she says Carmen didn't mention that the training potties at her daughter's school probably had more bacteria on them then her daughter did.
