There was a tremor. Imperceptible, like the world shifting its grip on the fabric of reality. And then there is a tear, and the world outside the building you're in goes black. your sense of gravity goes inverted, then sideways as the building crashes down in a city similar but different from the one you were just in. In the back of your head, there is a song, a steady pattern of notes that echo like a lullaby you just can't remember or forget. The light returns, but everything else is chaos.

Starflight dove out of the way of a piece of rubble, shaking off the echoes of the Simurgh's Lullaby. It was just her luck that one of the Exposers would hit her town and she'd be too caught up to evacuate or be fitted with one of the federal hero's communicators. And, of course, it was the Simurgh testing out a new "toy" she'd stolen from some inter-dimensional portal-building supervillain. Today was not a good day for a ba- hero such as her.

With these thoughts bouncing around her head, she checked inside the building that had just dropped from a hole in the sky, hoping that nobody had gotten hurt or, at least, nothing too serious. "If anyone's even in there." she muttered.

I hold my head after going through what felt like the most devastating bad trip i could have ever gone through. Which is odd since I don't do drugs. I stumble around and bump my head as i look up "h-hello!? Hello!? HELLO!?" i called out since I'm not in my college dorm. Maybe i was drugged and pranked or worse. "Hello! My name is Jamie Patrick! I am a student at the local college!"

[Greyling]

The lullaby continues, bits of childish elements supplanted into your subconscious, not enough to change your personality fast, but enough to push your mind in the right direction.

She looked into the building, hearing someone's muffled cries before finding Jamie. "Stay put, I'm going to try and get you out!" she shouted, looking around for something. Unlike the federally-funded Protectorate teams, her equipment as an independent hero had always been minimal, even if she'd done well with herself so far. Eventually, after rummaging through her own equipment purse and the surrounding area, she found a decent-sized rock to smash the window and some cloth to keep her hands from getting cut. "If you can, move away!" she shouted through the window, gesturing to Jamie.

I hold my head again hearing something ring into my head. Its music. Nice. Soft. Music. Now that i think about It's actually quite calming. "Wait no!" I shake my head "i need to get out of here. Suddenly i hear a crash and jump. I here someone tell me to move back so i move backwards tripping over a rock and falling backwards narrowly missing a set of jagged debris and that puts me in quite the panic as i start feeling scared, alone, and sort of new to the world. I feel like i need someone to help and hold me and stay by my side.

[Greyling]

Starflight waited until after he was out from under the window, then smashed it, clearing the leftover jagged pieces from the sides before using her power. In front of her, a thin, silvery cord appeared in her hand, and she tied it off to a sturdy outcropping of rubble before descending, helping Jaime up and carrying him to make sure he didn't step onto any of the broken glasss or debris. "Are you okay?" she asked, checking him over for cuts or bruises, and glad to find few of them.

I felt a great sense of relief as I saw the woman come i and she got a need to hold on to her as the lovely soft lullaby continues to play in my head. I clung to this woman and as i was pulled out of the building i looked around. This was not my college town. Not at all i have never seen this place before. I feel so confused and scared i didn't know what was going on. I hold my head and sit down as tears well up "W-where am i!? What's going on!?"

[Greyling]

She looked at him, frowning at the question as she helped carry him up the rope and out of the building. "You're in the dockside area of Brockton Bay in the middle of an Exposer attack. We need to hide out, get as much out of range of the Lullaby as we can, and try to avoid-"

There's a flash of green, black, blue, and white as four figures rocket through the sky. One is a beam of pure blue energy, the other a hooded green figure, and the fourth a woman in black body armor and a cape, all fighting what looks like a flawless white angel. Her skin is covered in feathers, her face a welcoming, placid expression. Across her body are a thousand wings, branching off of each other in impossible angles and wrapping around the clothesless body of the angel. As you stare at her, the lullaby becomes the tiniest bit louder, pushing you down your mental road a little bit faster. Then they're gone, streaking across the sky

"...that." Starflight swore. "Jesus, the whole Triumvirate tearing into Her like that, can't imagine what they'd go through that close to Her." She paused, then sighed. "Couldn't. Couldn't imagine it."

(as a note: the world your from doesn't have a Brockton Bay, as far as you know. If it's not a bother, I'd suggest that this city [which canonically exists in the Wormverse but not in the "real" one] is where your college was in your universe, somewhere in between New York state and Maine. Your call on where the college is, though.)

"Whatton Bay!?" I asked this woman who saved me. I look around again "a what attack!?" I ask growing more more frustrated with the situation he is currently in. "Listen just tell my what direction NYU is and I'll walk or hitchhike there" i say in a very panicky state. I jump and stumble back and fall to my bottom again as i see the three figures who look like they came out of a DC comic come and i am even more come. I feel the music calm me and i sit there and feel my tumb begin to penetrate my mouth. I whimper just wanting to go home. I look at the large angelic lady and slowly raise my other hand as if reaching for her. Why am i doing this? I don't know her. I should be afraid of her. But......it feels like the opposite. I feel like i can trust her. That she will protect and care for me in this scary place.

[Greyling]

(just to clarify, do you want your character to be taken by the Simurgh, or to be kinda-cared for by Starflight? If the former, you and Star are going to be picked up and taken by the Simurgh to her base. If the latter, you'll have to work through and scavenge a quarantined city with a number of superhumans, including a tech-builder one who now seems to be mass producing diapers for everyone effected. Also, you might want to think on what kind of power you want, as we're going to be coming up on that soon. If you want, I can describe how powers work in DM.)

Staring at him as he responds and watching him zone out, Starflight picks Jamie up again and carries him away, heading towards the warehouses by the bay, only to spot another team of heroes and diving into cover, sneaking around them and ending up in a ship graveyard full of rusted freighter hulls. "NYU? The nearest NYU campus is in Brooklyn, Brockton Bay is in New Hampsh-" She seemed to realize something, then took a deep breath, setting him down on a rocky outcropping near one of the less rusty ships. "You... Where are you from, and how do you not know about the Exposers?"

Jamie let out a small whimper as he was carried away by the strange woman who saved him. He watched as the distance between her and the angel was growing and it made him panic a bit more as his breaths start getting heavy. He looked up at the woman after she put him down and began talking about where they are "I-I'm from Georgia but i came to NYU on a scholarship if that's what you mean. A-As for the other thing i don't know. I've never seen or heard of this before. Is this some big movie project? Did my idiot friends drop me off on a movie set? Those poopy heads" i say not noticing i used poopy instead shit like i intended to.
