Sub-Zero may have two protégé, and the Grandmaster may have many potential successors, but Hei Bing was Kui Liang's one and only baby boy. Hei Bing enjoyed that greatly. All the love and attention his father dedicated to him where a treasure more than the toys within his chest over there. Hei Bing layed there with his legs spread. His underwear a tad stained, but some things must be sacrificed when indulging in desires. No matter how innocent they are.

Hei Bing takes this time, while his father goes to work to deeply concentrate on what he needs to do tomorrow. He must continue practicing certain techniques. He must go into the village, and aid some of the other clan members. He enjoys partaking in that. The gratitude he gets for assisting is very nice. He definitely needs to help improve their defenses. Especially if THEY attempt to hassle his people during jobs. He does not linger on one thought. These intimate times on the changing table, can be many good things. Time to bond, or a moment of clarity. Sometimes the two take time discuss matters there. It truly is a special time for the two cryomancers.

"It looks like we may have gotten you here just in time," Kuai Liang observed as he began to work Hei Bing's underwear over his lithe hips.

There was no judgement there, of course; just the simple musings of a protective father. Besides, it wasn't anything dramatic...and irrelevant given where these trips on the changing table lead.

With practiced hands, Kuai Liang began to fold a sheet from the stack of soft terrycloth stored just beneath the table.

"Lift up now, little one..." Kuai idly narrated as he cinched Hei Bing's ankles in one large palm, the diaper slipped into place with the other.

Hei Bing moves his body fluidly. His father could easily lift him by his ankles if he were too distracted. However, he was able to tighten his core, and lift his back off of the table with no effort. This is no achievement for one as experienced as Sub-Zero, but Hei Bing I'd still a child. Hardly fourteen years of age. He of course has already taken a life, as most children in the Lin Kuei have by his age. However, there is just an air of innocence that just cannot be taken from Hei Bing. Leaving him still in a child's place.

There is no telling what the future lies for him. There is no telling where the future lies for Frost. There is no telling how the future will unfold for the Lin Kuei. Time is a fickle creature, and quite dangerous at points. Hei Bing will just have to prepare for that dark road ahead of him in his own way. Right now, that way is by being Dada's special little snowbird.

Kuai Liang's lips quirked rather proudly at the speed of the boy's movement.

"There's my little warrior..." He chuckled softly, guiding Hei Bing's hips back down to settle on the thickly folded cloth. Probably best to err on the side of caution today, given the altercation beforehand.

In many respects, this time he spent with Hei Being had given Kuai Liang a deeper insight into the idea behind emotional well-being.

"Now then..." Kuai Liang murmured as he pinned the thick folds securely into place. A set of plastic pants followed shortly after; baby blue with snowflakes dotted about. "Are you ready to settle down, my little one?"

"Yes, Dada. I ready to go sleepies." Hei Bing says, purposely simplifying his vocabulary. He sounds so natural. It is hard to tell which is an act between the baby talk or the teen speech. His green eyes, his mother's of course, fluttering, and he reaches up to his Daddy, and makes grabby hands towards him. He coos happily waiting to be held and maneuvered. These moments were such a joy for them both. So far, it has not impeded his progress, though if anyone were to know of their special secret, than they would say it hinders his potential. Use it as an excuse to oust his father.

Luckily, the two were quite savvy together. No one has a clue about what's going on. However, Frost's insults towards Hei Bing sound a but to close for comfort. Especially when she calls him a snowflake. Hei Bing takes time to clear his mind, empty his negative thoughts, and vices. However, his way of doing so makes him almost newborns. He drools, his eyes go wider, and he seems to have little control of himself. However, he feels so much better when coming out of it like a deep meditation, and he can get out of it in case his survival instincts are needed.

Kuai Liang immediately felt his heart soften at the babyish babble.

"Alright then, little one..." He chuckled softly, obligingly reaching to lift his little Hei Bing up from the table to settle back in his arms. Strong arms squeezed the boy tightly.

Honestly...Kuai Liang relished these moments just as much. If only because this is where he knew that his little boy was safe.

"Come now, sweet one..." Kuai spoke so very, very softly as he made his way towards an oak rocking chair in the corner "Daddy will sit with you until you fall asleep. You'll be nice and safe..."

Carefully, the grandmaster sank his weight down into the seat, settling Hei Bing so that his head was supported in the crook of his arm.

"Daddy loves you..." He cooed, softer now, as he eased his weight back and forth in the chair.

Hearing those words, even in his concentrated state, made him smile that beautiful smile. It can melt hearts, and freeze bodies stiff. He gurgles as he lays in his father's arms. Those emeralds he claims are mere eyes, blinking only every so often. There is no telling what he is thinking while he is clearing his mind, there is no telling what he truly is witnessing. He can come out of it when need be, but is it instinct or purposeful?

Hei Bing is an adorable mystery. He is swift, but careful. Loving, but diligent. Hard working, but humble. He sticks to the code, but works around aspects he finds less appealing. How he can be so strong, and so kind is new to the Lin Kuei. It Scares the old guard, and they tell the new guard to not follow his example. However, he is needed, whether he knows it or not.

"Shh...shhh..." Kuai Liang continued to murmur as he let the chair tip them gently back and forth "Time to rest those weary eyes, my sweet one..."

Just to Kuai Liang's left, there was a small stand with a drawer. Atop it lay a few things that little one's tended to need to help them sleep; a pacifier, a toy and such.

For now, he reached for the pacifier.

"Just relax..." He hummed again, pressing the nipple of the pacifier to Hei Bing's lips "Let those big, bright eyes slip closed..."

Idly, Kuai Liang began to hum a tune. It was a gentle melody, not from his youth but from Hei Bing's mother's...

Hei Bing begins to nurse the pacifier. It moves into a gentle rhythm. Out, and in, steady as it goes. Controlled movements, but with a flow to them. Rigid like a lake freezing over. Yet steady, and like waves moving. He is not a monk. The Lin Kuei's style is one of aggression. However, Hei Bing shows more peace in his aura than most monks. It was quite incredible. He can take a life, but seem as if life itself exudes him.

He now sleeps in his father's arms. Listening to his mother's song. As he listens to the love, he gets engulfed in it. He is taking it in, and his body language enforces this. It is to be said once more. He Bing is a mystery. Whether for good, or for bad, he will leave a stain upon time. How he will make his mark upon history will be answered another day. Today though Hei Bing will rest, and ponder the flaws of the day, and how he will use them. The goods of the day, and how he will continue them, or modify them.

It's true that the Lin Kuei are not monks. Couldn't be further from it, actually.

Yet, Kuai Liang found it rather pointless to ruminate over the mysteries of his child. This entire order was, technically, new and experimental ground; and all he really had need to worry about was Hei Bing's safety. Everything else would surely fall into place.

Kuai Liang waited for a few moments more, watching as his little one's chest rise and fall in a steady rhythm until he was sure that he was asleep. Then, after a few minutes, the grandmaster moved to gently deposit the boy over into the plush crib just a few steps away.

"Sleep well, my little warrior..." Kuai Liang murmured gently, pressing a kiss atop the boy's head "It will all work out in time..."
