Things were going great for Anju and Kafei. They were just married, and the whole world was at peace again! Not to mention, Kafei was adult sized again! Everything was wonderful thanks to a young boy clad in green. Their marriage was made possible thanks to his efforts. The couple, along with everyone in town, owed him an enormous debt. Kafei just wished there was some way to repay it. His father taught him to pay back his debts, but he had no way to ever repay Link for his aid. He wished his wife Anju was here with him, but she needed to help her best friend Cremia with a milk delivery to Ikana Canyon. That's why he stood at the front desk of the Stock Pot Inn; he was filling in for his wife. They didn't expect anyone to need a room today, but they could never know when a weary traveller wanted a place to rest their head.

After another long adventure and saving the land of Termina, Link found himself still stuck in the alternate reality. Which he didn't mind too much except for he had been searching for Navi before he had been thrown into another adventure in a new reality. He just kept hope that eventually he would be able to return to his own world to continue his search.

For now though, he had done some more exploring the land a little more now that he wasn't on a constant time crunch, before returning to Clock Town to spend hopefully spend the night at the Stock Pot Inn, hopefully with his own, not accidentally stolen, room this time.

Heading into the inn, he walked up to the front desk with a smile as he saw the now older Kafei working there. He was glad to see the familiar face, even if it wasn't the child version of him he was used to.

"Link! It's excellent to see you! What can I do for you?" He asked a large smile on his face. He didn't expect to ever see the boy again! This could be his chance! "If you needed a room, we're more than happy to provide! No charge this time!" He offered generously. "It's really the least we can do, after everything you've done for us." He rummaged around, searching for a room key. "If there's anything you need, don't hesitate to let me know! After everything you've done, I'd anything to repay you." He admitted to the young boy.

"That's great, thank! I'm not sure how long I'll be around so I don't know how long I'll need a room for." Link said, thankful for the man's generosity, and thankful he wouldn't be taking a poor Goron's room again, or anyone else's reservation. "I'm pretty beat from all my adventuring, so a nice bed sounds great right now, I don't need any reward, I'm happy to help where I can." he continued, rewards were nice, but there really wasn't anything he needed, besides a way to get home to his own world, but he doubted Kafei would be able to help with that.

"Well the carnival is the busiest time of year for town, and that's over with. We usually don't get many tourists right after the carnival passes. Letting you stay for a few weeks shouldn't be an issue." He explained amicably. "I'm sure a bed is great after everything you've done. You're a very generous young man, but you need some kind of break or a vacation!" He pointed out. "I'm sure you're parents are worried sick too. I doubt they'd want you to overwork yourself. You're still so young after all." He scolded lightly, as he handed Link the room key.

"Parents? Nope don't have any of those. As for the young thing...I'm not entirely sure where I fall in that department" Link says, rubbing the back of his head nervously. "My first adventure had me go through some time stuff, skipped around seven years of my life pretty much spent some time as a adult before getting sent back to childhood." he continued, explaining a bit of his story, figuring he could empathize with the man, having just helped the man with his own similar situation recently.

"I'm sorry to hear about your parents." Kafie said respectfully. He Iistened on, confused as Link explained his situation. "Having to become an adult after being a kid sounds very difficult, but suddenly going back again, must have been frustrating." He spoke softly. He wouldn't have believed it possible if something similar hadn't just happened to him. "Why did you go through all those sheniagans with time? Surely an actual adult could've stepped up so you didn't have to." What on earth has this boy been through?

He nodded, "It was.. a little annoying I'll admit... Nothing compared to this last adventure though." he said recalling all the days he repeated over and over, all the transforming he did, mask collecting. "As for why? It kinda started with the guardian of the forest I lived in, he was cursed and I was called by him to break it..." he started explaining, recalling the moment clearly in his head. Remembering watching the Deku Tree's final moments.

"Afterwards... he explained to me about the situation in the world and told me the future depended on me... I couldn't just decline when there was trouble, not after the nightmares I had been having before that,which turned out to be an event that happened later..." He continued in his explanation. "As for why the universe chose me? I'm not sure on the part."

"You're quite courageous Link. I know if I were called to do even half that; I'd fail and cower within minutes." He complimented, before making a joke at his own expense. "It seems to me that you didn't have much of a happy carefree childhood." He noted sadly. He stayed silent for a moment, then an idea caught his attention. "Maybe being stuck here is the universe's way of thanking you. You can have a real break. Maybe even get the childhood you missed out on. I could help you with that." He said earnestly. "In fact... I really want to." He admitted after a moment.

Link tilted his head, curious about the man's offer, it was true he hadn't had the most carefree days, when adventure had called upon him he jumped in without much of a second thought. But how would the man help him with the childhood he missed out on?

"I guess you have a point there... I guess I could use a break, but how could you help me with that?" Link questioned.
