His Second Chance (Private, with RaVeN)

On the west coast of the United States lies the deep, free state of California. About seventy miles off of Riverside is where this story begins, at a rich adoption facility known as the Dai Hebun Network, or Dai Hebun Foster Agency. Roughly translating to 'Second Haven', it is a facility meant as a care home for children without parents or guardians to take care of them. The outside of the mansion-like home is covered in a well-tended garden blooming flowers of all varieties and colors, creating an unparalleled beauty of the finest remark.

The inside of the care home is no less than premium, with velvet carpets, pictures of famous children's heroes, beautiful decorations and housing furniture of the highest quality. This was no poorhouse. There was enough beds and seats for every child there, to say the least. It was a privately-funded organization, and a government-approved facility, being a first-choice for nearby kids who have lost their homes and carers.
For any child, it should be a dream-come-true, as if being raised by the richest and wealthiest of people.

However, this home had a dark, dark secret underneath it, that could not be excused or forgiven... But that secret's outing is not to be revealed at this time.

Instead, we'll begin with Gene Silver, one of the primary staff workers.
Standing at about five foot, eleven inches (5' 11"), he was a fairly regular sized man.
He stood outside the facility's main gates, waiting for some guests to arrive.
Dressed in a black, high-class suit complete with tie and perfect-fitting shoes, a fine fit from head to toe, he stood there with his hands behind his back, looking left and right down the street's road, just waiting for an expecting car to arrive. It was about time, although they were a tad late, but since the expected guests were from another part of the country, perhaps they were using a rental car, or taking a taxi. He wasn't entirely sure what he was looking for without a phone call.

Nonetheless, he stood, and he waited patiently. He could wait all day if he needed to.

Alexander was driving the rental sedan he and his wife did get at the hotel. doesn't look to be very focused on the road so far and his right hand is often moving over the short deep brown hair. His green eyes are often resting on the blonde woman sitting on the passenger seat next to him. Susan is wearing a light blue summer-dress matching the colors of her eyes. She did put on a decent makeup and keeps her long blonde hair open.

Alexander pulls in the driveway of the Dai Hebun Forster Agency and parks the car. He leaves the car standing tall at about six foot. He adjust the jacket of his grey suit before stepping over to open the passenger door for his wife. After the door is open Susan gets out of the car. She is about a head smaller than her husband and links in as he offers his arm to her. Then they step over to the person already waiting outsides for them.

"Good morning sir, Susan and Alexander Villiers. We have an appointment because of an adoption." Alexanders says before Susan adds "Don't make it sound so formal. We are here to become a full family with a little sunshine."

Gene takes a little seat by the nearby bench on the outside wall, crosses his legs and lifts up his left hand. Pulling back the sleeve of his undershirt beneath his suit jacket, he takes a look at his silver smartwatch, just ticking the seconds down. The world was all about smartwatches these days, wasn't it?
"Hmm." He mutters to himself, before letting out a gentle sigh. Impatience did not exist within this man, but boredom was something could strike anybody in silence.
At the very least, the wind blew gently against him in the spring air. His short, slightly spiked black hair blew to the side a tad to the direction of the wind.

Just then, he saw a car coming down the road - a sedan, in make - and he thought to himself "Is this them?"
With a bit of luck, it would be. He couldn't see into the driver's front window from the distance, so he calmly waited to see if they'd pull up into the driveway space nearby.
And indeed, it did! Lifting himself up onto his feet, he puts his hands in his pockets. Although was dressed formally, he also liked to express that Dai Hebun was a fairly casual place. Approaching the driveway, he watches the adopting couple step outside of their vehicle, one with the other's help, before they approach him, and stating their names, as well as a question of his formality, to which he can't help but give a gentle chuckle to.

Gazing at them with his almost... blood-like red eyes, he replies.
"Good morning, Mr. and Mrs. Villiers. My name is Gene Silver, and I'll be your guide today. Do not worry about my suit - it's my regular attire for my visits here. The rest of the staff are quite casual in their clothing."
Turning a step around, he begins to guide them into the home, guiding them into the open gates and past the vast, wonderful garden.

Alexander looks in Gene's eyes but keeps up his smile so far saying. "Alright Mr. Silver, so are you going to show us the facility first?" Then Alexander lets his gaze wander over the big garden. In fact he is not paying too much attention to the beauty of the flowers, trees and other arranged things, but more to the number of potential exits and other details. All this became a reflex to Alexander during his life so to anyone standing near him it simply will look like he was admiring the beauty of the garden for a few seconds.

Susan on the other hand steps straight forwards through the garden making her husband move along. She came here for one single reason and was not used to be kept waiting. Sure she understands the importance of places like this but she has set priorities for their visit. She doesn't comment on her husbands question and keeps on walking. So far the place did look nice and clean to her. The staff was polite it seams so not really any reason to worry. As they arrive at the doorstep Susan looks at Gene to tell him. "I think this place sure is a nice one, but I hope you can understand that I'm a little curious about the reason for our trip here. You probably hear this from any couple coming here, but I would appreciate to meet the little one as soon as possible."

As the foster service worker guides them through the incredibly well-maintained and beautiful garden, he puts his hands behind his back in a polite manner, keeping his eyes in front of him. However, this man was not normal in the least - he made a life out of making observations, and he could sense the couple's nervousness. But from what he could tell, it was not an unusual response. Adoptive candidates come and go all the time -- and they're almost always nervous to meet the child or children they're planning on spending their lives with.

"Yes, I will show you the facility..." He says, as he walks up to the main doors. Alexander would find plenty of windows around the home, on all floors of the mansion-like rich home, as well as a basement entrance/exit on the outside around the right side wall. "... Although your wife seems eager to meet the young one as soon as possible, so I suppose it is entirely up to you. You will be spending less time in our facilities than you will be meeting young master Zeikasinri, so perhaps seeing him first and last would be best?" He states, as an offer and a suggestion.

Alexander takes a short moment to consider what to do he looks at the foster service worker and then back at his wife. "So far I think we will go and see the little first. After all he is why we came here." The man says already being a little curious about the boy they will meet too. Sure he knows that anything else would have simply lead to his wife taking the lead and rushing through all the place. So to him it is more reasonable to give in.

Susan on the other side smiles at this answer and then addresses Gene "So would you be so nice and show us the way? The files you send us were already very promising." The woman probably would have stormed off in case she already knew the direction to take but thanks to not knowing the mansion she will have to wait for Gene to lead the way.

Sticking one hand in his pocket in a relaxed form, Gene turns back to the two of them with a gentle smile. "By all means, you can see him first. He's upstairs, in the prep room, where... I hope he's preparing for his leave and not getting too distracted with toys up there. Buuuuut... If I had to make an assumption, he probably is, at least a little." He states softly to them.

"He doesn't play all that much, though. Not too big a fan of toys like trucks or action figures... He doesn't really seem to know what to do with them. I've tried working with him, but... I think perhaps it's due to his autism." He continues, as they start heading up the carpet-touched main stairs and up to the second floor. There, they take a left, and head down the hall. There are many doors on the way there, with different signs as to what they're for. 'Play Room', 'TV Room', 'Upstairs Lounge', 'Bathroom', etc.

"Ah, here we are..." He says, as they approach a door that has a sign saying 'Preparation Room'. "I'll wait outside here for you. You can see him whenever you're ready." He says, taking a gentle step back from the door.

Susan already was close to storm off as she spied the door labeled with 'Preparation Room' the woman is really eager to meet the boy who is waiting for her to become his new mother. She stops in front of the door and makes her hand run over her summer dress before checking her hair.

Alexander walks next to Gene looking at all the doors. "Quite a nice choice of activities you've got for the kids." He comments about it and then smirks a little as his wife is running her check on the hair. "Honey we are going to meet our new son and not going to give an interview. You are looking all perfect." He tells Susan before he reaches over to the doorknob and pushes the door open.

The two adults are entering the 'Preparation Room' and while Susan only is looking to see Xero in there Alexander has a quick look around after he did shut the door. The man seems to look at the interior but in fact is looking for anything what could be a camera or microphone or something alike. He figures Gene and some other people might be watching them.

Gene is quick to respond with a smile to Alexander's comment on the activities available to the children. "We're well funded, sir. We try to make as many activities available for healthy and playful growth for the children. Now... I'll leave you to it." He comments, as he takes that aforementioned step back away from the door.

Inside the couple go into the room. It's a fairly large room, where there was a large wardrobe to the right corner of it, filled with clothes that are mainly there to be taken away by kids who've been adopted. There were some toys along the floor, including a little play corner on the left-hand side. There was a fairly large bed with a little bag on top of it, probably there in case the child or teenager being adopted felt like taking a nap before their new adoptive parents came to meet them. There was a computer, although it was locked, probably only allowed to older residents.

There were two cameras in the room - one on each back corner, that surveyed just about every part of the room. However, this wasn't particularly unusual, as there were cameras downstairs as well as outside. Probably just security measures, as Gene has recently stated. Their high funding allows for such things, after all.

In the middle of the room, on the floor, with his back to the wall, was a very, very small boy... toddler-sized, infact. Although his online profile stated that he was six, he didn't look more than two! With long, fluffy black hair, and a slender, thin and rather petite body, the child they seeked sat there in wait. He looked more like a little girl, although he was wearing some regular pants, a normal shirt and a jacket over his shoulders, as well as a pair of socks. No shoes, though, although a very small pair was on the end of the bed, next to the bag, which seemed... halfly packed. He probably didn't know how to pack it efficiently.

The toddler-like boy says nothing, as he gleams at the two of them for just a moment with those big, golden eyes. His teeth are showing, and he seems a little nervous, but remains quiet. After a few seconds, he turns his eyes down to the little red ball that's in his tiny hands, as he gently shakes it in the air, somewhat playing with it.

Susan slowly walks over to the boy and squats down in front of him. She gives him a warm and already caring smiles. This little one was just prefect to her. She doesn't look to be worried by the size of the boy. She just watches him for a bunch of seconds before saying. "Hello there little man, I'm Susan and who are you?"

Alexander stays a little behind his wife and lets her do the first contact with Xero. Sure he was very close to simply squat down next to his wife and try to talk with Xero too but he doesn't want to stress the boy by being rushed by two adults. They are going to adopt this boy so there will be plenty of time he can spend with him later on.
