So an AB/DL pokemon world. We have 2 options here to make this concept work:

The 'perspective universe' kind, based on the story 'Rosa's new perspective' and later the shamelessly collaborated 'Touko's new perspective' I wrote myself, in which the pokemon took over and are now care for the human in a day-to-day life fashion.

Or, let's say that trainers would be treated as toddlers for some reason, and every gym and pokemon center would be some kind of changing station for the trainers and they accompanying caretakers.
