And I admire and appreciate that, I really do. But you've caught me a bit on the spot and I'm having trouble thinking. Sparks of inspiration tend to strike me brightest after I've warmed up a bit with the characters and gotten a feel for my partner's writing style.

All his life, Liu Kang has only ever known himself as "The chosen one." An orphan since infancy, Liu feel himself defined not by his values or his beliefs, but by what he can achieve. All his life he's trained and pushing himself beyond his limits, seeking Raiden's approval beyond all else until, one day, everything seems to hit a boiling point.

Liu Kang snaps. He's unruly, he's rebellious, he's irritable--he's even mouthing off to Raiden himself! But Raiden can be as wise as he is powerful, and he see's through Liu Kang's facade down to the heart of the matter: Liu Kang needs to be looked after for once.

In what other ways do you have in mind?
