Oh, one final thing is that although they are given most basic rights that other humans have they lack an important few that they can't be seen as able to handle. Mainly that they aren't able to vote and are treated as children in what their parents can do without their say so if they wished.
So I guess as for the plot of the RP, we could have it be just a normal 17 year old girl who had developed the condition when she was 4. Whoever's character (based on who would be more comfortable playing more than one character.) has minor problems with school work but has an after school job and otherwise tries to be as normal of a girl as she can be given her circumstances.
Well, I can think of a few things. The first is that the pottypants (The name given to those that have the condition, unless you can think of a better term for them.) have the ability to do some jobs if they wish, but they will not be able to move out of their adoptive parent's home unless they can prove quite well that they can care for themselves. A few even can become even successful in their jobs and become the bosses for the companies.
The second is that pottypants are common enough that there are shops that sells clothing like onesies, diapers, pacifiers, and velcro shoes sized for pottypants while also holding other stuff for pottypants that need them such as high chairs. They don't have to dress like a baby if they don't want too and their parents are okay with them dressing themselves, but almost all of them do wear velcro shoes so that they can take their shoes on and off on their own.
The third is that while the law makes normal people help a pottypants whenever they need it, but a fair bit of people do like to point out that they get to wear panties while they're stuck in diapers. So not really teasing them that badly, but their's a bit of a smug aura about them. Others are more supportive and willing to overlook that.
and finally, those pottypants that are still in school may be okay in normal classes or may have to go to special needs class, based on how bad their condition is.
