Eventually, Cecil found the changing supplies. He dragged them out into the middle of the room and sorted them. He didn't recognize all of it, but at least he understood the basics. He grabbed a fistfull of wipes in one hand and crudely pulled off Tommy's diaper with the other, spilling some of the contents on the floor. But it meant he could start wiping Tommy's bottom, his hand carrying the wipes moving in broad awkward strokes.

"Tommy, you believe I can use the potty like a big kid, right?" he asked, desperate for reassurance.

“The potty doesn’t make you a big kid; I still think you’re a big boy even though you’re wearing a diaper. But yeah, I’m sure you can use the potty!” He encouraged cheerfully. It was clear Cecil was no expert at this, but he was doing a good enough job at changing Tommy.

Chris watched on with equal parts amusement and pride. “Let me help you out here buddy.” He offered with a chuckle. He picked up the used diaper carefully, making sure the rest of the contents stayed in.

"No!" Cecil shouted, and he pushed Chris away. He needed to change Tommy's diaper to prove he was a big kid! Chris had already taken away his pull ups, he couldn't afford to lose this too! He tried to hurry up with the change, his fistful of wipes managing to get most of the mess off of Tommy's butt, but he missed the area right around Tommy's hole without noticing.

“Cecil!” Chris raised his voice, completely serious. “Go stand in timeout, you do not shout in the house and you do not push people.” He ordered calmly, but his anger was clearly evident. He rolled up the used diaper and sat it on the floor. He finished wiping Tommy, then rediapered him. “Go play with Maria.” He said gently, looking at the slightly frightened Tommy. He had never heard him rise his voice before. “I have to teach Cecil a lesson and spank him, but I’m doing it because I love him. To teach him that’s the incorrect way to behave.” He explained calmly.

Cecil froze up as soon as Chris mentioned spankings. "No no no," he said, shaking his head violently. "Please don't spank me, I'm begging you." He couldn't remember the last time he'd been spanked. He was a good boy, really? "I'll be good, I promise, just don't spank me." He was completely defeated now, even getting on his knees to beg for mercy.

“Cecil stand up, then follow me. We’ll do this in your room.” Chris ordered calmly, but his tone made it clear he shouldn’t be ignored. He didn’t want to punish Cecil, especially not in front of Tommy, but if Cecil refused, he would not like the consequences. However, he knew he had to keep his composure and not punish out of anger.

Cecil was already being punished. Nothing he did would stop the punishment, so he saw no reason to obey. He stayed right were he was, sobbing. He just wanted this to end. He wanted to go to the fair and have snacks and go on rides and not have to worry about any of this. He was completely inconsolable at this point.

Maria had followed behind them, and was feeling embarrassed for him. She didn't want to see him get punished. "Come on, Dad," she said. "Isn't there anything else you can do?"

“Cecil, you have until the count of 10 to go to your room, or we’re doing this here.” He felt like a horrible human being for among his son cry like this. However as a parent, he had to teach Cecil that action’s had consequences. “1,2,3...” He began to count slowly and calmly. Seeing that Cecil wasn’t moving, he picked him and sat on a rocking chair in the corner and placed Cecil over his lap.
