Alvin and the Chipmunks: Still Standing Tall (with Sonicmixer)

"Oh. Okay." Theodore sighed and scampered out.

Everybody was gathered around the table. It was still raining hard outside.

Dave sat where he was, feeling like a total failure. Theodore patted his arm, ensuring him that what happened wasn't it fault.

Alvin sat where he was pouring steaming hot honey onto his head for no reason.

"What's going on again? The kid said he's figured it out?!" Jack, the no-nonsense alcoholic, grumbled with a bottle of gin in his hand.

"Oh man. We don't have time for this. What if the killer shows up again?" Krum, the tense and high-strung plump man, spoke as they all sat.

"We should at least hear the kid out. It's bound to be at least a little entertaining." Lore, the oldest of the bunch and the quiet, unimpressed over-seer of the mansion spoke.

"Geez. I feel like we're not even making progress with what's been going on. Two people are dead and this chipmunk says he holds the answers. It's like a bad joke that isn't really all that funny." Zeak, the clumsy and reluctant forgetful middle-aged drifter, concluded.

Simon walked into the room, analyzing all of the people I the room. "My brother had most likely informed you why I summoned you here so I guess there's no beating around the bush. I know who the killer is."

[SDCharm]

"Oh this oughta be good." Jack slumped on the table as lightning cracked outside.

"You really think so?" Krum asked.

"Oh man..." Zeak sighed.

Lore didn't say anything.

Simon's thoughts came up quickly in the order with which he wanted to speak.

A good summary of the events that happened needed to refresh their minds first.

He had discovered who it was that attacked Alvin. Who killed Anna and cut her body parts up and left her in the forest. Who attacked Alvin again. Who killed Avon. And attacked Alvin once again!

(Yeah sorry, I'm not the best at comprising stuff like this. A you'll just have to work with me here. )

"I believe this all began when the assailant first assaulted my brother Alvin during his special little outing. That is what originally led us here, when things truly began to get scary when we found Anna who was cut up like bits of sushi and scattered her parts in the forest. We were of course put into a great state of panic, which has kept up from thinking clearly, and led to Alvin being attacked once again. That only made us even more frightened and ended up with us not being alb to stop Avon from being killed and the Alvin once again. I've been gathering clues all this entire time to help lead to who the killer might be. And I do believe I've come up with an answer."

(I have a feeling I messed up on some detail somewhere.)

(Don't worry. Just type what I type but give it a flare that Simon would say. You're good at making Simon's smarts come off as entertaining. Like you just did there by saying she was cut up into "little bits of sushi". That's stuff is perfect.)

"What are you saying kid? We all know it was the Bandaged man right?" Jack asked.

"The guy whose hiding in the forest, trying to kill us." Lore said.

"Do you guys really think he's in the forest?" Theodore asked. "Remember when Alvin was attacked in our room on the second floor?"

"The guy cut a hole in the glass and came into the house from the veranda right?" Jack asked.

"Yeah. He probably jumped from a tree onto the 2nd floor veranda." Lore concluded.

Simon had to set them straight. He had to remind them that it had been pouring rain outside ever since they got here. If he came from outside and jumped to the 2nd story room using the tree shouldn't he have tracked mud behind?

"Ah but gentleman, you seem to be forgetting some important details about that particular attack. Not that I imagine you would be really focusing on that while you lives were in danger, but nevertheless. You see since we arrived here there has been nothing but rain, which of course leads to a wet environment.. So if the bandaged man came from outside and climbed up the tree.. Why didn't he track mud?"

"Hey... you're right!" Lore chimed in.

The answer was simple. The murderer came from INSIDE the house! And barefoot to make no noise. He probably passed through the empty room that used to be Anna's, went out on the veranda, cut a hole in the window pane, entered, and attacked Alvin while we slept. But because of Alvin's scream, he panicked and ran back to Anna's room. Then he got changed and joined everyone in the front of our bedroom wearing an innocent face.

Furthermore the hole was made right where the lock was which is something you could only know if you knew this villa well. Which means that it could only have been one of them!

"Of course I am." Simon rolled his eyes. "I'm the one explaining it. The killer most likely went through the house and went outside and cut a hole in the window to make it look like he had come through that way. He proceeded to try to attack Alvin, but couldn't finish the job due to the fact that my brother screams like a little girl, which easily alerted everyone to his presence. So he made his escape and rejoined the group, keeping his identity a mystery." He smirked. "Oh and I also noticed one other little thing which may prove of some use to the evidence. Only someone who had a good knowledge of this villa could have done this. I know because I noticed the hole that was made, was cut exactly where the lock was. And who else would know that besides someone who knew the place?"

Jack rolled his eyes when Simon said "Of course" he was right.

When Simon pretended to attack him Alvin squeaked like a frightened baby girl and then blushed when Simon said he screams like one too.

"Please, that's enough Simon." Dave inquired.

"Yeah. Playing detective is fine but think about it." Zeak said. "When he ran in front of the window with Anna's body, we were all inside remember? So none of us could be the bandaged man."

Of course, at first glance it would seem like the bandaged man they saw was real. But if you use a fake prop and some piano wire it works to fool you well. The bandaged man they saw was actually a foldable hollow puppet with two pieces of piano wire stuck to the puppet's head and to Anna's head. The two wires were strung around the railing of the veranda and hung just above the window in question.

Then the person who was at the top part above them at the time told them to look at the window below him. When they looked at the window he took the opportunity then to cut the wires and make the puppet and Anna's head swing by it. When they went to open the window he pulled them puppet and Anna's head back up. Which is why they couldn't find the bandaged man when they ran after him in the forest.

The only one who could have done that was the guy who was repairing the roof at that time because of the thunder storm taking out the power.

Meaning that the murderer was Krum.

"Your absolutely right about that my cynical little friend." Simon smirked smugly. "None of us could have been the bandaged man themselves.. because the bandaged man is not really a man at all. He's a puppet made of cheap metal and plastic, who's held up by piano wire. The same kind of wire used to hold up Anna's head. If you look outside above the window, you might still be able to see some of the wire in question.
Being a puppet, the bandaged man made a fantastic killer. Partially because you could hide him almost anywhere. Like possibly in a closet, or maybe a suitcase if you took him part right." He stopped to catch a breath.
And there's just one last thing I would like to mention in order to bring closure to this little mystery. There's only one person who could have orchestrated this all, and that would be the person on the roof at the time of the attack, fixing the knocked out power. And that person would be our very own.. Krum." He point an accusing finger at the culprit.
