(Just out of curiosity, given how I actually bought and read the books during the peak of success. Also, how the proposed film was announced back with the original book's release in 2001, but it took 20 years to come together in any shape or form, long after the iron had gone cold.)

(Indeed. There are times when the finished product wasn't worth it, and there's times when it may not be as good as it could've been, but to have any version at all is good enough. In my case, I felt that way regarding the film adaptation of The Giver, for example.)

(I read the Giver back in middle school, though I never saw the film adaptation. A friend of mine voiced dissatisfaction with it, and he's usually hard to displease.)
