Korra sighed softly as they headed back into the house. If she didn't think about her Avatar duties for a while, maybe she'd start to come out of her slump enough to... to... do something. She shook her head to get the thoughts out of her head, hoping Pema might not have noticed her staring off at nothing while she was thinking.

As they entered the kitchen, Korra had another twang of guilt at not being able to help Pema with most anything in here, "Pema, can... I do something? Please?" She asked, hopeful that maybe they wanted something simple enough that she could help and not get in the way. Korra had accidentally bumped into a few things already, both humans and various plates, bowls, and counters, and didn't want to ruin anything else to what she knew was one of her better days. That had to change somehow, she knew...

"Sure dear." Pema replied as she handed Korra a handful of carrots and onions each. She told Korra that they all needed to get peeled and minced as she pushed the chair up to a low countertop for greater ease.

Korra gave a small smile as she placed everything on the counter in front of her and began to peel the skin off of the onions. It wasn't terribly difficult or anything, her hands worked well enough still, though she had to make sure she was leaning over the counter enough that the skin wouldn't drop down onto her lap. The task kept her mind focused for a while, and being around Pema and Ikki was helping for the moment as well.

After a few minutes, she had finished with the onions and began working with the carrots, trying to avoid cutting herself as she did so. Occasionally she'd stop and glance over at Pema or Ikki, just to check what they were doing, before finishing up her task and sitting back in her chair, silent.

Pema rushed over and grabbed the onions and carrots that Korra had been prepping and hurriedly diced them up before throwing them in the boiling stew pot. Turning around she looked to the children and replied "So this is going to take a while. What do you do until then?"

Korra took a deep breath and slowly let it out before looking back up at Pema, "I... don't really know." She sighed. Part of her knew she needed to try practicing her bending more, but today was going so well... but, maybe it was time to try it? But it just... hurt, everywhere, so much, whenever she tried it the past few times. She had almost passed out the first time from trying too hard. "Maybe just... look outside again..." She looked back down towards the floor, her arms resting on the hair as her expression soured again.

"Come now," Pema began as she walked toward Korra, "there must be something you'd like to do. Wanna play a game of Pai Sho? Or play catch with Naga? Or read Air Temple poetry?" She doubted that last one would really appeal to Korra, the girl never having any patients with anything overly ethereal. Still, she hoped that something would inspire her to have a little more energy.

Korra brought a hand to her head as her face began to grow red from her frustration. She couldn't even pick something to do like this, what was wrong with her? And now she was disappointing Pema on top of everyone else for acting like this. Her knuckle started rubbing her temple as she tried to hold everything in. 'Why can't I pick anything?' She covered her eyes as she came to a conclusion. Nothing... nothing was as fun as it used to be.

"Could... we try playing with Naga?" She managed to keep a steady voice, still having to cover her eyes from everyone else.

(Hope I'm not overplaying it, but I figure she's still in a stage where she's just in her slump and still needs more nudging until she gets out of it. Like, she's still worried about how everyone feels about her and how she disappoints them now, and she'll spiral down if she's not careful)

"Of course!" Pema replied, putting the stove on simmer before moving behind Korra's chair and pushing her out to the open areas not used for training. Naga lay there in the lazy state between wakefulness and sleep which dogs so easily slip into whilst bored. That changed the moment she picked up Korra's scent and barreled toward her with full excitement fueled speed.

Even Korra couldn't resist smiling as her companion came running at her with such excitement, though she couldn't greet her back like she used to. For now, Korra would wait in her chair and hope Naga remembered to not bowl her over again. Her arms started to open up slightly for her as she neared, though her head turned a little as she prepared for Naga to not slow down enough. "Woah, Naga! Easy!" She called out, slightly hesitant as she couldn't do anything to slow her down if she was excited enough.

Sure enough, like a truly well trained Bear-Dog, Naga slid to a perfect stop just inches away from Korra's blanket covered lap. Her tongue flopped out of her mouth lazily and she panted with mild anticipation as she gently laid her head to rest on Koora's no longer strong functional legs. The look she gave her teen owner was a combination of sadness and excitement which perfectly conveyed the message of "Come on and play with me!" to the young Avatar.
