Black Butler: Haunting Memories (Private between HaliBug and Bunny~Button).
Ciel felt hands. He felt hands grabbing him and pulling him away from his burning home. The boy refused to open his eyes; he was too scared of what he would see. He didn't want to see his burning home or whoever was grabbing him.
At first, he had just assumed it was Tanaka rescuing him from the burning mansion. But the hands felt far too rough for his father's butler. Eventually, Ciel found the courage to open up his eyes.
He saw men. They looked gruff and evil, dragging him by his hands and shoulders, hurting his body as they did so. He didn't doubt the thought that there would be bruises later.
"This kid'll make us a lot of money," one of the men said with a gruff voice.
"They really like them noble kids," another said. It frightened Ciel; what were they going to do with him?
The more Ciel thought about what they could possibly be talking about, the more frightened he was getting. His parents never told him that people liked to kidnap kids of nobility.
Ciel squeezed his eyes shut, warm tears running down his face. That wasn't the only warm liquid running down his body. He felt urine running down his legs.
"Did he just piss himself?!" one of the men shouted.
"Well, that's gonna decrease the price."
"Stupid kid."
Ciel jolted awake with a gasp. At first, he thought that he might still be with those men. Or that he might awaken in the cage, but he didn't. He was outside of the cage. He was in his fluffy bed in his mansion. He knew his butler was not too far away in the mansion. He could just say his name and the butler would be there, but he wasn't sure if he wanted to call him just yet.
The ten year old whimpered when he realized not all of that had been a dream. He was sitting in a warm pool of urine that was rapidly cooling in his bed. He felt extremely embarrassed. Ciel groaned slightly. He was too old for this! He was almost eleven for Pete's sake!
He had only been free of his kidnappers for a few weeks. He had nightmares like this before and Sebastian would come into the room. He always stayed in the room for the rest of the night, even after Ciel had fallen asleep. Though, this only happened after the nightmares had already happened.
Finally, the boy swallowed his pride for the sake of getting cleaned up.
"Sebastian..." Ciel practically whispered. He knew the demon would hear it. The boy pulled his blanket higher up toward his body, not wanting to see the mess he had made underneath it just yet. It reminded him of times when he would be forced to urinate all over himself during the month he had been taken to that place.
Calling for Sebastian at this time of night wasn't entirely uncommon for the Earl of Phantomhive. While the little master had nightmares that caused him to cry out unconsciously, sometimes he had silent nightmares, where he would wake in the middle of the night and call for the butler. Other nights he would call and order Sebastian to fetch him a glass of water or take him to the restroom.

Sebastian knew of his master's problem of course. He found it a nuisance to clean up after the boy had soiled his bed, but he didn't mind caring for Ciel afterwards. The master of the house was rather easy to take care of and Sebastian saw being contracted to him as a sort of break. Some of the other people he had worked with had silly requests that would irritate the demon to no end, but Ciel was practical and smart.
Hearing his new master call for him was not a shock. Sebastian knew what the boy wanted right away. Though Ciel did not realize it, the one thing the boy truly craved over anything was good company. Just before he was kidnapped, his parents were almost always with him and while being held hostage, he was mostly left to his lonesome. It made sense that Ciel would crave such simple things a he was still a child.
The butler dried his hands from the water he had been using to rinse the dishes before making his way to Ciel. He followed the long, confusing hallways to get to his master's room before gently knocking and opening the large door. With swift movements, Sebastian lit the large candelabra near the door for light.
"Yes, young master?"

Ciel bit his lip when the demon walked into his bedroom. He hated admitting what he had done in his bed during the night, but hated sitting in the mess even worse. Pulling the blanket closer, the boy looked down at his lap to avoid allowing the demon seeing his flushed cheeks.
"I...I had another nightmare..." he trailed off, feeling much like when he was younger and his parents would check on him during the night when he did such a thing as this. It was incredibly humiliating for the ten year old. Of course, the boy did not want the demon to know of what he had done, even if the demon knew that he had already done it. Ciel did not know that the demon was already aware of his predicament.
Ciel knew that this was because of his nightmare. He knew that if he explained it to Sebastian the demon might have a sliver of understanding - though, he was a demon - but he just didn't want to relive everything that had happened. It was degrading to even think of himself as he was. Ciel was just trying to start this knew life and now the old bits of it were creeping up to haunt him.
Ciel broke his intense gaze on his lap to glance at the demon, trying to get a read on what the man was thinking. It was tough - demons had excellent poker faces. He wanted to whimper and allow the bed to eat him, but he wouldn't allow it. If he was going to be an Earl of Phantomhive, he had to act like one.
Though, he wasn't doing a very good job sitting in his puddle.
The boy couldn't help but think of how humiliating it was for him to do this. Even more so, he couldn't even take care of it like an adult would have been able to. Ciel had been raised as a noble boy, who had everything done for him. He had never even taken a bath by himself or dressed himself without assistance, and definitely did not know how to strip sheets of a bed and replace them with dry linen. Ciel felt hopelessly incompetent.
What truly humiliated the boy wasn't only the rapidly cooling urine underneath him and on his legs, but the fact that this wasn't the first time it had happened since returning to the mansion. It had happened a number of times, and it always had the same effect on him. The boy would be embarrassed and brooding. After being cleaned up, he would go about his day, though with less ambition as he did on the days where this wouldn't happen.
When Ciel had first started waking to wet sheets, him and the demon collectively excused it as trauma after being abused in the custody of evil for a month. After the accidents had continued, Ciel had excused it as possible illness, though the demon did not. Ciel was beginning to lose hope that there was a medical cause for his problem.
It confused the boy so much, as this had never happened to him before his parents murders. While small and sickly as a young child, he had never been known to have accidents like this in the bed, which only bothered Ciel more now that this had begun to happen. Not only did it cause him embarrassment after it happened, but it also affected his day after, causing him to be more tired and aggravated.
Ciel decided then that he would definitely be reading up on nocturnal enuresis. For now, though, the situation at hand was to clean up and bathe in order to rid his body of the disgusting urine smell. Ciel didn't care that it was still in the middle of the night, he was up now, and only wanted this whole situation to disappear.
Despite the fact that Ciel had informed Sebastian of his nightmare - words that the butler would know immediately what he had done, as it had been happening just the same since he had returned from the horrible cult that had kept him - it didn't calm his nerves that the demon was in his room. His heart was still racing as he envisioned the horrible things that his kidnappers had done to him. His eyes almost began to tear up at the memories he had been experiencing every time he closed his eyes.

Sebastian knew already what Ciel had done, but he waited patiently for Ciel to explain himself anyway. He didn't want the boy to stay silent and not tell him why the bed was wet even though the dark haired man was sure it was from a nightmare. Why his master didn't just get everything out of his system, he didn't know, but he wasn't going to push. "Would you like to tell me about it? It might assist in calming you some." he suggested.
The demon was tempted to let Ciel sit in his wet spot, bit that might traumatize the boy and ruin the mattress. He let Ciel stare at him, only moving again when the child turned away. Sebastian didn't let anything show on his face because looking a certain way might make the little boy throw a tantrum. He hadn't witnessed any tantrums as off yet, but he was sure Ciel could throw one to rival a teething baby and he didn't want to be responsible for setting it off.
Wanting to move quickly to get rid of any evidence that Ciel had soiled his sheets, Sebastian helped Ciel down from his large bed and started stripping him. The bath wouldn't be ready until after he changed the sheets, but he was sure his master would not appreciate having clean sheets but no clean pajamas. After wrapping the child in a robe to keep warm, the demon guided him into the bathroom and started the water. "I will be back with a clean nightgown, young master."

Ciel fiddled with the sheets as Sebastian spoke, feeling badly about what he had done. He was supposed to be acting as an adult for the time being, but the ten-year old was sitting in wet sheets just wanting to start crying. He couldn't do that, though. He needed to be strong, especially in front of Sebastian. If Sebastian saw how weak he really was…he may not even want his soul anymore and the demon may leave. Ciel shook the thoughts out of his head; it was impossible, they had a contract that bound them together until the very end.
"N-No," Ciel objected when Sebastian asked his question. He definitely did not want to talk about it, though this wasn’t unlike him. Since he had returned from his kidnappers, he had kept the majority of his feelings bundled up, not wanting others to see him as weak. Despite this, he was mostly an open book with certain tells he had that he did not know about.
After a few moments of silence from the boy and demon, Ciel allowed Sebastian to help him out of his king sized bed and strip him. He shivered slightly when Sebastian had stripped him, though it was soon remedied when he was wrapped in a robe. He allowed Sebastian to lead him to the bathroom afterward, watching the water fill up in the tub as quickly as it could on command from the faucet attached to it.
Ciel nodded when Sebastian had announced his departure. Ciel had plenty of time to think about his horrible thoughts when he was along, and allowed his eyes to slip closed as he thought of the horrible things his kidnappers had done to him.
He thought of the beatings he had to endure, the food that was fed to him through a funnel that several boys before him had already used, and the rituals the other boys were put up for before Ciel had his turn. He thought of the boys he was locked up with. How one of them would die while still in their chains. Ciel took a glance down to his ankle, where his chain had locked him in the cage. It was still scarred from the days of his confinement. It reminded him of that time much like the healing brand on his back did. It made him feel as though he would never escape.
Ciel gasped slightly, not wanting to think of those horrid things. He finally allowed himself to relax a bit. Soon enough he would be cleaned and back into bed for the night. The boy was feeling tired. He knew he would need a nap in the afternoon, as he usually had one after these nightmares occurred. Ever since he had returned from the kidnappers, these were how the nights went. Ciel would wake up soaked, take a bath, go back to bed, and the next day he would have a nap in which he would wake up soaked again. Ciel didn't know when he had become adjusted to this routine, but he had, despite the embarrassment he always felt having Sebastian clean him up.
"S-Sebastian.." Ciel called, not wanting to be alone with his thoughts any longer.

When Sebastian was alone with his thoughts, he thought about things that he would never tell anyone else. There was one thing in particular that he had been thinking about lately, though and that was Ciel. As he straightened the new linen on the bed, the demon delved into his previous thoughts.
His young master was truly young. The boy was quite like a toddler. The demon had to constantly look out for his health and help him with the simplest of tasks. He could never find it within himself to be upset over that, though. Sebastian found that, if he really thought about it, he didn't mind taking care of Ciel. He actually enjoyed it.
Back in Hell, Sebastian loved to spend time with children. Whenever he could, he would visit friends and family who had young children and he loved it. Little kids loved to see him. He was very patient and spoiled them with attention and affection. Some of his friends had playfully shoved him and told him about how their kids would constantly ask about Sebastian after he left. He always had to leave though...
He was considered much too young to be thinking about finding a mate and settling down. Though most of his friends were older, he was still considered only around 20 years old in Hell. To his friends, he was a baby. Despite this, he had always wanted to have children. That was why he tended to stay away from eating children's souls. Ciel had been different though. The boy was so broken and he had nobody. The demon just had to help.
As he heard Ciel call for him, he picked up the new nightgown he had collected and brought it into the bathroom with him. Sebastian laid the garment on the sink and knelt by the tub, stopping the faucet to help Ciel in.

Ciel allowed Sebastian to help him in the tub, staying silent besides the soft sniffles. He had been haunted by the memories of his kidnapping after only being back for a short while, and Sebastian was the only person he could lean onto for comfort. He didn't, though. Ciel felt as though he was too proud to do something like that; he didn't want anyone to think him weak despite being a fairly weak child.
The boy leaned into the tub, allowing Sebastian to wash away the evidence that he had soiled his bed. Ciel knew it would be a fairly quick bath, like it always was after incidents like these. This had happened quite a few times before when Ciel had nightmares, and he always received a bath afterward. Ciel knew it wouldn't be long before the demon was finished washing him.
Ciel already felt like going back to bed by the time that the bath was coming to its end. He was helped out of the tub and once Ciel was getting dried and dressed, the boy finally spoke up.
"Sebastian…" Ciel trailed off. "I don't like waking up like this. It interrupts my daily schedule with the horrid naps I have to take after being woken like this in the middle of the night all the time."
Ciel wasn't sure if the demon could cure him of his affliction, but he did want to convey that he wasn't doing this on purpose - though he was sure he wouldn't have to explain himself for that. No one would do this on purpose. Besides, if anyone could cure Ciel of his problem, it would be Sebastian.
The boy was embarrassed and ashamed whenever he woke like this, but there wasn't anything he could do to help it. He had tried using the restroom just before bed, restricting his fluids, but he still soiled his bed whenever he had nightmares like this.
It had even begun to effect his work with the Funtum Company. Ciel seemed distracted when reading over important documents and business plans, being slower at getting them done, and occasionally he would even ask Sebastian to take care of them a few times while he went and took a nap, only to repeat the cycle of waking soaked.
"I want you to make this stop," Ciel said. He was just becoming adjusted to having a demon who had to obey his every command, but planned on using the demon to his complete power. If Sebastian could prevent Ciel from waking like this in any way, Ciel was prepared to listen.

Sebastian continued to think about his life back in Hell as he washed Ciel. Baths like these were usually spent silently thinking for both of them and they were comfortable with it. Occasionally, Sebastian would subtly rub Ciel's back to stop his sniffles. The demon found Ciel rather adorable at that moment.
Ciel's face was pink from embarrassment and fatigue, his eyes were open but just barely and his cheeks were even puffier than usual. Sebastian faught the urge to reach out and cradle the boy's head so he would fall asleep in the tub. He would just get Ciel out. The boy was already clean anyway.
Instead of rubbing the towel all over Ciel's body to dry him off, the dark haired man gently patted his skin with the soft towel. Ciel's body was physically sensitive and quickly drying him by rubbing a towel all over him usually irritated his skin. That would only make it even harder for him to fall asleep again.
When Ciel spoke, Sebastian listened carefully. He didn't know exactly what his master expected of him. Of course, the man knew many things about healing and could preform small miracles, but healing ailments that have to do with the mind was an angel's forté and Sebastian definitely wasn't an angel. He couldn't cure it, but he could try to help Ciel stop.
They had both tried many things and they all seemed to fail. Limiting fluids just before bed or even all day, going to sleep later so he was more tired, taking medication to help him sleep. All of the things they tried had failed. Sebastian knew they would have to slowly work into it instead of trying to stop it completely at once like they were doing.
The demon thought of things to help Ciel so that he wasn't waking up as much. If he could lower the amount of naps Ciel took, the amount of times that Ciel soils himself would go down and that would be a large step. It would have to start with his sleeping, though. He continued to think before Ciel spoke again. He then drew to a conclusion.
"Young master, I do have a suggestion. I can not cure this, but I do know a way to...ease the side effects a bit. I propose that before bed, you shall be dressed in your usual night clothes and a nappy." Sebastian knew Ciel wasn't going to like the idea, but it was all the demon could come up with short of taking him to an angel. Both were unsatisfactor, but the lesser one would have to do.
If Ciel could be less uncomfortable after he wet the bed, he wouldn't wake up from being wet as much and that meant less naps during the fay and less opportunities to soil himself while he slept.

Ciel gasped and his eyes widened when the butler suggested nappies. He was ten years old, not an infant who couldn't use the restroom by themselves and needed nappies! More blood rose to Ciel's cheeks in embarrassment at the thought that Sebastian would even suggest something like that.
"S-Sebastian…" Ciel trailed off. "Do I look like an infant to you? I refuse to wear something as infantile as…n-nappies.." Ciel couldn't deny that it would help ease his ailments about sleeping, which is what the demon had suggested the nappies for.
"I'm not going to wear nappies," Ciel decided. It wasn't a difficult decision for him to make. He already had his mind set when the demon had said the word 'nappy'. "I wish to sleep now."
It was still dark outside, and Ciel was feeling fatigued. That aside, he just wanted this embarrassing moment to be over with. He found it very unpleasant to appear so embarrassed in front of the demon. He needed to be stronger; like an adult.
Ciel didn't realize that while he was being dried and dressed, he brought up a balled up fist to his eye and began to rub rather childishly. He was definitely tired enough to get a few hours in until he had to wake up to start his day. He knew a nap would be in order for him sometime in the afternoon, as it had been like that for a while now.
The boy didn't know what he was going to do if this didn't stop eventually. He had a fiancée and a company; he couldn't act like a little boy and go around wetting himself. He was sure no one his age did it, and especially none of the owners of the companies that competed against his.
After Ciel was dried and dressed, he made his way to his bedroom and collapsed on the bed, waiting for Sebastian to tuck him in like he always did. The boy slipped his eyes shut with the hope that there would be no more accidents again.

Sebastian waited for a reaction to his suggestion. With a secret amused smile, the demon watched as his master ranted childishly about being an adult. Ciel rather looked like a toddler trying to tell his parents he was grown up enough to dress himself. Toddlers always ended up looking a mess when they dressed themselves, though. He remembered when the children he knew went through that phase. Their parents would just let them roam around dressed as they pleased and it was absolutely adorable -much like Ciel at the current moment.
Sebastian waited for the rant to be over before starting to dress the little lord. It only amused him more that Ciel was telling Sebastian that he was an adult, but still needed help dressing and always waited for his butler to put him to bed. Letting the child have his way to soothe his emotions after his fit, the man let Ciel walk away on his own.
After a quick look to make sure the boy was in bed, Sebastian made quick work of cleaning the bathroom for later that day. He knew Ciel would wet himself again and he knew the boy knew it too. Nappies were a perfect option, but if Ciel wanted to fuss about it, Sebastian would wait until Ciel came to that conclusion on his own.
When the bathroom was clean, the demon went to his exhausted master. He lifted Ciel for a breif moment before tucking him under the covers carefully like he usually would. After that, he waited. Ciel could ask him to stay as that wasn't unusual either, but his suggestion seemed to anger Ciel so he didn't know.
