"Yes, father," Alois said. He followed beside Sebastian toward the candy shop and Ciel rested his head on his father's shoulder. He had quite enough excitement for the day with his near-attack and he was glad to just be with his family again. While he had never imagined having this kind of family after Vincent and Rachel had died, Ciel was glad that he did.

"I want a big lollipop," Ciel said.

[Lovely Thyme]

"Of course, darling. You will get the biggest one they have, but only one piece will be on the stick. The rest will be cut into pieces so they won't get sticky. You will want to save some for later." Sebastian knew Ciel wouldn't be able to finish it all at once and figured it would be easier to store in smaller pieces.

"Would you like anything, Alois? Perhaps one last trip to the bookstore before we leave?"

"Yes, daddy," Ciel said. He knew Sebastian wouldn't let him have the lollipop all at once, but he also knew he wouldn't have finished it even if Sebastian had let him have it all at once. He pressed his thumb in his mouth quietly and rested against his father.

"Hm..." Alois trailed off. He did like to look at books and was looking at a few when Sebastian and him had to go to Grell and Ciel, but he didn't think he needed any more books. It probably wouldn't be too long until they returned anyway. "I don't think so."

"You may pick out something for desert it you'd like, Alois." Sebastian offered. He knew Alois wasn't big on sweets and wouldn't want any more until later. The demon picked out Ciel's favorite lollipop, but had it cut and packed away in smaller peices. The one piece that was on a stick, Sebastian gave it to Ciel.

Ciel quickly took the piece on the stick in his mouth and began to eat his lollipop. He rested against Sebastian as he did so.

Alois looked around the candy shop, but he wasn't too fond of sweets at the moment so he shook his head no. "I'm all right for now, father," Alois said.

Sebastian nodded at what Alois said. He had expected the answer. The demon still ordered a few small fruit tarts in case Alois changed his kind later. Usually, Sebastian would order chocolate things, but Alois prefered fruit and vanilla instead of chocolate.

"Daddy, Ciel's tired," Ciel said as he rubbed his eyes with one hand, the other holding his lollipop with the other. He allowed his eyes to slip shut as he rested against his father. He had quite a bit of sugar throughout the day with his three sweets and was now going through a sugar crash.

Sebastian supposed that Ciel's fatigue had come from his attack along with walking while shopping. He didn't know about the sweets Grell had let Ciel have.

"We're going home, lovely. You can rest." he assured, putting an arm around Grell's waist again as he brought his family to their waiting carriage.

Ciel had already begun to fall asleep as he was taken to the carriage. Alois played with the boy's feet while they walked to the carriage and continued to do so when they were seated in the carriage. Ciel didn't have much of a response with his fatigue.

Sebastian laid Ciel across his lap so his feet were hanging slightly off of his legs so Alois could play with them. The demon rubbed Ciel's back and hummed to lull the child into a deep sleep. Ciel needed a long nap and Sebastian planned on letting the boy rest until he woke up.

When they got home, Sebastian brought Ciel to his room. He took off everything except for the child's underwear. The man put Ciel into a frilly nightgown and let him sleep.
