She hoped that the girl liked it as she wondered what baby furniture she would need to buy for her. Nora went over to Melissa's side of the car and opened it for her so Melissa could wait at the front door for a few minutes.

"The door is just locked silly girl but I will open it in a few minutes" Nora told Melissa as she opened the trunk of the car and began getting the baby stuff. She couldn't make it all in one trip so she left a pack of diapers and the adult-sized stroller in the car for a few minutes. Nora went over to the front door and began to unlock it glad that the bags weren't too heavy.

"Wocked?" Melissa asked, confused at the new word. She then gasped in surprise as Nora opened the door she wasn't able to open. Melissa was about to enter the house, but then Nora went back to the car to get the diapers and strollers. Melissa decided to toddle closely behind Nora because she was curious what the woman would do. Nora had a feeling that Melissa would be very happy if she could help with something.

"Alright sweetie ready to see your new room ?" Nora asked Melissa as she opened the door and sat the baby stuff down in the living room. She hadn't decorated the spare room yet but it was painted pink when she had bought the house. Nora wasn't sure where she was going to find a babysitter for Melissa as she didn't know any local babysitters.

"Yay! New woom!" Melissa said, full of joy. She wasn't quite sure what she was going to see, but she knew that she was going to have a fun time. Eager to see the "new woom" the mentally regressed girl toddled her way into the kitchen. "New woom?" she wondered as she opened a drawer containing pots and pans. Picking up two pans, Melissa began banging them together and giggling at the noise. There was a flyer for a babysitter in the mail if Nora wanted to look at it.

"You are such a silly little girl. That's not your room. This is your new room" Nora told Melissa as she shook her head and led her to the spare room. She waited a minute then opened the door and waited to see the girl's reaction. Nora realized that she would need to get some babyproof locks for some of the cabinets to make sure Melissa didn't get into something poisonous.

Melissa giggled as she was led along, still giddy from her experience in the kitchen. When she was presented her new room, the first thing that stood out to Melissa was the pink walls. "Pink!" the mentally regressed teenager said, rushing into the room and jumping around for a bit. After she calmed down, Melissa expressed her approval of the room. "New woom pwetty," she told Nora.

"I'm so glad you like it. Now can you play with your new toys while mommy does some grown-up stuff ?" Nora asked Melissa as she offered her the bag with her toys. She was glad that the girl liked the room but knew she would still have to do some work on it to make it safe for the girl. Nora waited a few minutes for Melissa to start playing with the toys as she put the packs of diapers down in the room near the pink bed.

"Gonna pway toys!" Melissa said, reaching into the bag and taking out the building blocks. The mentally regressed girl made a game of stacking the blocks one on top of the other and then knocking them down, clapping and giggling as she did. This would keep Melissa occupied for a pretty long time, long enough for Nora to go and do whatever she needed to do. Speaking of things Nora needed to do, the mail had just come in, so it would probably be a good idea to check it.
