Crinkle Cartel [Reboot] (Silvertip and Circuit-Jay)

The bartender smiled and nodded. She had to admit, the little Velociraptor was really cute for an adult. Must be the feathers coupled with the small size.

Several minutes later, the three orders were placed in front of them...and the arguing group ejected from the bar by an armored Utahraptor and a Human with metallic arms.

James took a sip of the cider. Just how he liked it, mild and sweet but with a bite to it. The aroma of spicy chicken wafted up into his nostrils, slightly stinging them.

"So," James began. "You meet anyone interesting at work?"

Za'kar was a little dissapointed that he didn't get to see any fighting in the bar, but he wasn't exactly all that upset over it. Anyways, their drinks were here along with their food. Considering his small size and such, Za'kar was given a serving of the liquor that wasn't too large for him. Taking a sip, he listened to James and it was right back to thinking.

"Uh... I did meet someone I saw yesterday." Then he decided to just drop the whole thing with hiding the card he got and such. "They gave me a card to some place..." He whispered.

James scowled and nearly spat out the cider her had. "Yeah, I got a card too. Was it an invitation to some building in the Commercial District?" he whispered. Granted, the whispering might have been excessive given how the industrial rock that boomed out from he speakers made even normal conversations difficult.

He looked around the bar. The assorted people there were too busy doing their own thing. As if by instinct, his hand brushed against his waist...and contacted empty air.

James swore under his breath as he took another sip of hard cider. He had forgotten that he often left his gun at home when going to work as the company forbade weapons on its property.

Za'kar seemed to realize that James was missing something. He noticed his gun was absent from its holster. That was a little worrying, mainly because James was usually the one to handle situations that may be a little sticky, and that was because have a weapon with him was enough. Most of the time, that is.

"I think... I think we can go see them, they're probably expecting us to an extent." He said. "And maybe your gun isn't necessary? I mean like... They'd probably wouldn't like it too much if they saw you come in, already armed." The Velociraptor pointed out.

James finished off his drink and called for someone to get the check. "I'm gonna save the chicken wings for later," he said as the check was placed in front of him.

As his friend spoke, maybe he was right. Bringing a weapon there was probably not a good idea. Regardless, he pushed the thoughts out of his head as he swiped his cash chit through the reader.

The Human got up from his seat. "Right, let's get going." He headed out through the bar's doors and waited for his friend to catch up.

Za'kar was already in the process of getting out of his seat when it seemed like they would be moving on. He followed James after he himself got up, of course.

Then he decided to randomly comment, "I kind of wanted to see those two other people fight. Who do you think would have won" Why? Because he didn't exactly like the sort of tense air hanging around them. Well, it came off as tense to him because they were kind of going to deal with something neither of them were exactly experienced in.

James shrugged as he strolled along the Commercial District. As was it light outside...or as light as it could be with the smog hanging in the air, there were quite a lot of people walking around and taking in the sights or buying things of questionable quality and legality from the street vendors. One of whom was selling what were obviously diapers...although they tried to get around the law by writing "for spill control use only" on the packages. He had to admit, it was a clever run-around the laws. Though the cops usually didn't give a shit.

Soon, the duo found themselves at an imposing concrete structure. Despitr its imposing structure, it was actually very elegant. In an industrial/corporate manner. Glass (though James was sure it was actually bullet-resistant corundum) windows admitted light into a sparsely decorated and incredibly clean lobby with a few couches, chairs and plants on it.

James checked the address and the name on the entrance's plaque with the card he was given. "This is the place, Silk Road Trading Company. Well, here goes."

He opened the door into the spacious lobby and waited for his friend to follow.

"Silk Road... I read about that up on some place somewhere. It's apparently really, really old. I'm surprised anyone would even reference it in this time... Even more so this place." Said Za'kar as he followed James inside. "I won't be surprised if I managed to find some pretty good stuff here." Of course, he wasn't being too obvious with what he was talking about, mainly because they were in public, and saying that he sold drugs was probably a great way to get arrested.

The secretary looked up from his position at the front desk. "Are you here to meet someone?" he asked.

James nodded. "I recieved an invitation for a..." James trailed off, unsure what to call it. It wasn't an interview per se, but calling it an initiation gave the whole business the feel of a frat house.

Not finding the proper term, he simply retrieved the card and showed it to the secretary, who looked it over and nodded. "I see." He then turned to Za'kar. "Sorry, without that card, you'll have to stay here."

Za'kar seemed a little confused when she mentioned he couldn't head in with his friend. "Oh wait." he said and then immediately fished around in that bag of his. He had two bags: One for his second job, and one for when he needed to pocket stuff, or just bring things with him to places.

Anyways, he took out that card and said, "I actually have one too." Then he showed it to her.
