James knew that smile. It was the smile of someone who thought they had a good idea. Needless to say, the Human raised an eyebrow at his partner's disturbingly toothy grin.

He sighed. "How abouf we discuss this back at home?" he said as he watched the crowds start to gather as the night became more active.

"Besides," he muttered. "It'll provide me with the scorch mark on the table as evidence as to the last time he tried something 'good'."

Za'kar let out a quiet huff as he got the impression that James didn't believe him on his idea being good. "Alright, fine..." He could assure him that it was good! Even though it would be really embarrassing to admit to... On second thought, maybe he would reassure him. The Velociraptor was feeling some regret now.

As they were walking home in the night, Za'kar looked at the neon signs. It kind of filled him with this sense of nostalgia, maybe it was because he knew how old some of those signs were and they reminded him of older times when he was younger. Not always pleasant, but appreciable for sure.

It was kind of ruined by the sight of some drunkard already stumbling out of the dark and flopping on their face not too far away... Ans then getting pick pocketed while he was down. Talk about insult to injury...

Just outside their apartment was a drunken man relieving himself against the window. James carefully stepped around the puddle of urine and entered the apartment's lobby.

The doorman on duty was puffing away at an electronic cigarette. She waved the duo through without even looking at them.

When they got back to their apartment, James locked the door. "Okay, why don't you tell me what you had in mind while I cook dinner." He opened the refrigerator and got out some fish fillets. He wasn't entirely thrilled about Za'kar's schemes because they tended to blow up in their faces...sometimes literally but he did it anyways just to be polite.

Za'kar grimaced slightly at the man relieving himself. Kind of ironic given his whole deal with padding, but no big deal. Anyway, he would follow James inside, only temporarily distracted from his thoughts.

When they got inside, and Za'kar was asked about his little plan, the Gelociraptor got to explaining himself. "So uh," hesitantly, that is, "I was kind of thinking that um... People like to see me in padding a lot, so I was thinking about taking advantage, y'know?"

James chuckled a bit as he tossed some spices into the heated skillet he just oiled. "Okay, so you're going to be wearing and using padding full time? Ehh, as long as you turn a profit."

He did have to admit, the little raptor did look rather cute all diapered up. But he said nothing as he turned on the hood and continued cooking the fish.

"So, Za," the Human said. "When are you going to try this whole pay for padding thing?"

Za'kar rubber the back of his head lightly. "I'm kind of going to use this as means of switching professions here... You know, stop the whole drug thing and sort of focus on the whole... Poof part." The raptor clearly was embarrassed about talking about his. "I notice people notice me a lot more whenever I'm padded up, so I was thinking I'd take advantage. Especially since it might get more more business. I'll just use the money I get to get more padding... Unless you can smuggle some in from your work place."

Then he sheepishly grinned while looking up at James, "Also, one more thing: Can we not talk about this too much, later? I don't need people rubbing it in." Especially James.

James rubbed his chin. "So you're going to be selling poof and wearing it...as advertisement?" He already had a vague feeling what Za'kar was planning but he didn't want to embarrass the little raptor by outright saying it.

He sighed. "I can probably get you some diapers from either of my workplaces." He then turned off the stove and placed his cooked fish filet on a bed of precooked spiced rice. Za'kar got a raw fish filet on a plate.

James picked up his fork. "Why don't we talk about this over dinner?"

"Uh... Yeah, sure, I'm going to be doing that." Za'kar was regretting telling James his game plan now. He felt like he was standing on thin ice whether either his dignity was at risk, or... Well, probably just his dignity.

The Velociraptor, who took a bite out of the raw fish filet, said, "What exactly do you want to know about it?" He wasn't going to dig into much detail on his own idea if it wasn't asked for.

"Well, whatever gets you money," James said as he took a swig of his water. He continued eating.

"Just don't leak in our house when you're doing it."

Several minutes, later James finished his meal and put everything in the sink. He then went to his room and the sound of him digging through his closet was heard.

Za'kar nodded lightly in agreement. However, he did feel uncertain about things now... Maybe he would sleep on it a little bit, or think about it if they decided to work a bit tonight.

"Uh... Trust me, I won't." The velociraptor said with a light blush underneath his burgundy color feathers. He didn't like the thought of springing a leak inside, that would be horrible humiliating, especially if he got caught.

After finishing his food, he decided to go check on his backpack to see what he had for tonight... However, with his idea in his head, he considered emptying it to make space for... Other things. Maybe tonight would be a test run or something.
