D&D 5e Magia campaign.

Upon seeing Isthar's accident Maribelle finally decided to speak up, not caring about the state her diaper was in. "Why do you look so surprised?" She asked looking at Isthar. Maribelle was unaware that there was a time when everyone didn't just let loose their bladder and bowels like that.

(Mara knows a pretty detailed history of Haven, from its cramped beginnings as a refuge to its growth and expansion to include an artificial forest, farmland, a city and everything they could need. She also can explain why magic users need diapers, and who the council leaders are.)
"Poor dear. I'm afraid that the only magic left in the world has a few side effects." Randrunth rumbles, the dragon casting prestidigitation on Ishtar to clean her up. A loud hissing sound can be heard as she casts. "I'm afraid you'll be needing protection. We all are forced to wear it." She continues, and the council shows Ishtar that all of them a wearing diapers in various states of use and in various levels of concealment.

Mara nodded and stepped forward a bit. "I'm Mara," she introduced herself. "Daughter of one of the landed lords of Haven, and a... student... of my queen, Ilrun." Mara bowed her head respectfully to Ilrun before turning back to Ishtar and elaborating a bit on the recent history of magic in Haven.

"So that's pretty much it," she wrapped up. "If you use magic around here, you gotta wear diapers."

Ishtar frowned at Maribelle. "I've never...wet myself before. I wasn't really expecting it to be the first thing that happened when I awoke."

Looking around at the diapers, she shook her head vigorously. "No way! I just had to go after holding it for so long, I don't need those things!" she scrambled to her feet, glad that she was at least clean again. She eyed Mara and her support of the dragon's statement warily after hearing her call the demoness her queen.

"Oh c'mon it's not that bad." Maribelle said smiling "Certainly better than the alternative of not wearing one." Maribelle looked down and inspected the state of her diaper to see of she needed a change soon.

"I agree it's not that bad at all," Mara said, smiling as well and giving the Maribelle a little wink. "Still," she added to the elven girl, "if this girl is over 200 years old, from a time when magic didn't make you wet and mess yourself, I'm sure it will take her some time to get used to wearing diapers."

"Wait there was a time before magic caused you to wet and mess yourself?" She asked looking a little confused, she'd probably been told at some point but forgotten. "How would that work? Would you just not go or something?" She continued having a hard time wrapping her head around the idea

"That's ridiculous. Magic is just magic. It doesn't have anything to do with going to the bathroom." Steadying herself, Ishtar looked up at the dragon holding her. "Let me down, please. I need to figure out what's changed, probably find something to eat and drink, find what happened to my father and mother..."
(Oh I should have mentioned it here too bu Ishtar has a constant +5 to her bowels)

Mara sighed. "Have you never met someone who doesn't use magic? Never seen anyone use the privy?" She paused a moment. "I suppose perhaps not," she continued, "since nearly all elves use magic to some degree, do they not?"

"I mean, I thought everyone had magic, but I guess I've probably seen someone who doesn't." She replied "I just never thought about it." She said blushing seemingly embarrassed to not know something that was apearntly was common knowledge
