“Hey, I can’t help it if my little sister brings the drama,” Lois jabbed back, though just couldn’t help but giggle as the pink, courtesy of her kiss began to rise in those chiselled cheeks of his.

“Gentleman through and through,” She grinned lovingly still and, reaching on her tip-toes, just had to nuzzle her nose against his own “I wonder if our little boy looks as cute when he blushes, hmm?” she was rather curious to know.



"Because they don't lead dual lives that result in my precious daughter being snatched by social services," Linda bluntly countered; say what you will about the delivery but the love was no less evident in her tone, nor tapered as she stepped forth to stroke a hand across the teenaged girl's soft, blonde tresses.

Lost for just a moment to that unwelcome thought, Linda was glad to be brought back to the present by Kara’s low whisper; though, it was such a struggle not to drop her jaw and contain the budding sound of disbelief.

“Seriously?” she whispered into her ear "You're an invulnerable girl who shoots laser beams from her eyes while flying around the city fighting aliens, monsters, a pantheon of Greek gods and other assorted magical beings; how in the heck do you not believe in Santa?"

''Atleast I don't complain about my younger relations that bring drama or are hellspawn when I must be around them''Clark once again countered these are the kind of lighthearted argumentative talks that the duo are known for most people laugh about them but besides this kind there tends to be the serious kind where Lois still somehow wins about going into danger

''What can I say? I was raised right and listened as I grew up''Clark spoke seriously albeit surprising he didn't blush anymore from the nose nuzzle


''Megan and J'onn J'onzz have dual lives though on earth and they don't heed that advice''Countered Kara still not arguing but pointing out to Linda a example of a family that even when they look human they don't tend to against the look to be fitting for the cold weather and Megan never gets taken away then again both the adult and child can mess with a persons mind if they really wanted to so it might never go noticed

Upon the question on why she doesn't believe in Santa she huffed but keep a low tone''On my planet we had a version of Santa, my birth parents lied to me about him being real as I found out when I went snooping in there room finding every letter I wrote to him over the years. So why should I believe in some illogical concept thats so similar? ''Kara rhythmically asked''Matter of fact I bet the Greek gods we fight are just artificially created lifeforms that had been enhanced to not die aswell as have special powers and they either never knew there origin or over the years forgot there origin. For the record mom you and Kon don't fall in any of that as theres a difference between the existences you both have and that of artificially created lifeforms ''Kara stated while she thought of something for added measure on her beliefs

''and supernatural powers-slash-energy,ghosts ,plains of existence among other things are just what science has yet to understand or grasp what they truly are''Kara seemed to believe strongly in logic then again what Clark has spoke on Karas planets history to Linda it was extremely scientific and logical in almost everything so of course Kara would growing up there not believe in things such as magic,ghosts,Gods and so on in the same way as those from earth among several other planets . That might explain why she gets along with Batman so well on logic as Batman shares a similar mindset to her on such things

Now, Linda was never one to discourage Kara’s obvious display of critical thinking, but sometimes there was just a point where she needed to draw the line; with an exasperated sigh, Linda just reached out and put her arms around the girl in nothing less than a loving hug.

“Oh you smart little scamp,” She huffed fondly, kissing her cheek with a smile “Fancy as those explanations are, I think it’s more logical just to take it at face value: in a world where most people have powers, there’s probably gonna one dude using them to be Santa. Now,”

Linda turned now towards Clark and Lois “Ready to go?” she called with a smile.

Kara had a bright smile at the affection even leaning in on the hug,Linda should know by now that Kara has a need for affection even if Kara actively denies it and tries to hide its still rather obvious when at home ,outside its obvious even when hiding it atleast to those that know what to look for''He'd have to be the richest man in the world then when it comes to material gifts and have connections for the none material gifts.''Kara had relented clearly at that point ,its like most times when Linda shows Kara affection she just tends to more often then not relent for awhile on the subject.


Clark turned his attention to Linda''Yes sis we are,we had just been waiting for you both to be done talking''Clark clearly didn't realize what the later part of the discussion was about but he wasn't nosy and thought it was personal or something

Once everyone was seated and buckled in nice and safe, the extended family made their way out of the driveway and endured a fairly pleasant drive to Smallville's outlet village sitting just on the outskirts of town; unlike the quaint homeliness that the main square exhibited, the outlet had much more of a hustle and bustle about itself. With the christmas lights already strung, decorations high and folks hurrying their ways between the glow of each and every store, Lois felt as if she were finally back in her comfort zone.

"Shake a leg people," the brunette called in good humour "The Christmas bargains leave no room for mercy; if it looks good, just shove it into a basket and we'll worry about it at the check-out."

Kara to her credit while they rode for once didn't make any comment or complain of it'd be way faster to just fly to some place or run some place because of the fact even the super family running if they really wanted to can rival most of the known speedsters be they good guys or villains. Kara makes those statements or complainants as shes still of the mindset they got powers so to use them as much as they can. Still Kara was excited to do this for Kon

Yet when at the outlet village Kara rolled her eyes at Lois statement''just be glad its not blackfriday or the day after Christmas sale too many people as I think you know being a reporter what happens''Kara stated as well both those sale days ends with people severally injured or killed in the bigger citys by the masses of normal people going crazy just to get real good bargains . Still after saying that Kara pointed out a toy store ''Lets start there as its super close to the the linen store aswell as that one weird store that sells pretty much anything for babies and little kids in sizes for babys on up to adults''Kara clearly hadn't figured the last place she mentioned is somewhat of a fetish store in the sense of the fact it has things for people that are into acting or dressing like babies and little kids but kara can enter it as theres nothing truly sexual in nature about the stores contents

"'Linen store'?" Lois questioned to Clark with a bit of a raised brow; though out of intrigue or bewilderment she wasn't quite sure. As Linda moved on ahead to guide her daughter over to the toy store, Lois slowed slightly with Clark so as to ask a few key questions

"I uh, get it's a fetish store," she murmured quietly, more for her own sake than any one else's "But is it worth us going in for a look?..." She couldn't help but wonder, though with a bit of crease coming about her nose "Assuming it's not one of those creepy one's mind. But, say if it is alright; do you think there could be a few things in there that...well I don't know, might better suit some of his more 'babyish' habits...?"


Linda, meanwhile had already stepped through the toy-store's entrance and was making sure to keep right on Kara's heels; the girl did seem awfully fond of wandering off through each and every isle, afterall.

"So what're you thinking about picking out for Kon?" She wondered to her as she lifted a basket from the pile "Anything in mind? Gosh, there's so much choice I wouldn't even know where to start...you'd best lead this one, I think" she chuckled quite honestly to her; as much as Linda loved her young daughter, when it came to kids, she was very much a clueless wreck. Anything she learned she'd learned on the fly and even then she she was being thrown curve-balls more often than she'd like to admit.

''Country term for a place that sells pretty much anything related to beds, sleepwear, bathing based cloth items and cloth meant for cleaning.''Clark explained as hes grown used to Lois asking those kind of questions of what he means or why hes called something this or a store that

Clark wasn't that pleased on his cousin not realizing what that store she was talking about is as in being a fetish store.''Possibly I've never gone in there for obvious reasons but from what I've overheard while in a nearby store its not a creepy or a bad store in general unless you're closeminded or one of the those idiots every type in anything thats odd is rather extremely open about it thats in it ''Clark admitted with a shrug

''And even though its uncommon for those type of stores not to carry things no minor should see so long as they don't have that stuff they can be open to minors so it's unlikely its creepy given Kara is allowed in there.''Clark then moved onto the next part of the question''I'm okay going in there for Kon as I wouldn't be surprised if they do have stuff that would better suit those habits''


Kara shrugged ''Well for sure he needs a teddy bear or two,you know seeing as hes never had the pleasure of having one given his situation. Otherwise I'm just going on guess work basing what to get him from boys I've helped watch with friends and other older toys I think most boys like''Admitted Kara showing she had no real plan given she isn't a boy but given shes a tomboy for the most part she does have a ideal what boys like but shes not sure what most boys like

Still with a cart shes pushing when Linda was detracts with something Kara went off on her own looking around picking up what she thinks Kon would like albeit Kara stopped just long enough in one isle to look at a stuffed toy she'd love to have but wouldn't admit it to Linda atleast not yet as Kara still isn't sure how Linda would take the fact shes more a child then she'd like to admit even to herself even though she knows shes way more of a child then is normal which she knows has is do to that fact of her suspended animation . The toy is a MLP;FIM plushie regardless Linda would find Kara just in time to notice the longing look at the toy right before Kara moved on to look more for Kon

After a long, thoughtful pause Lois unfolded her arms and shouldered her purse with quiet conviction.

"Either way, if we're going to go it'd probably be best to do it while Kara's busy in that toy store," She decided, fiddling awkwardly with the leather strap "If only to avoid a few awkward questions. Besides, I think I wanna have a talk with the guy behind the counter, see if it's really for Kon or not; c'mon."

After taking a moment to pull the collar of her jacket just a little tighter about her neck, Lois stepped as casually as she could off of the pavement and crossed over towards where the unassuming little 'linen shop' was sat.


For someone who apparently wasn't too sure, Kara sure could move fast between the isles; for once, it was Linda who had to make a mental note not to pause or be distracted by the pricetags and offers for as soon as she looked up, the girl had disappeared around the corner with only the flicker of long blonde hair to tell her so.

With a hurried breath, Linda had it in her to just about keep up, though she couldn't help but blink at the sight that met her; the look of longing in those bright blue eyes startled her...why, she wasn't sure she'd seen that look before, and yet, it seemed almost fitting...obvious in fact...

Before Kara could see her coming, Linda plucked the pony plush up off the shelf and hurried it into the basket, burying it carefully beneath a few cheaper plush's she had thought to pick up. An idea had come to mind.

"Do you think we have everything yet?" She smiled gently with a touch to her daughter's shoulder "Or do you want a few more minutes to see what else we can bury Kon under?" she chuckled gently.

Clark hated to admitted but even in his super persona where he doesn't restrict his walking Lois is alot faster then him''Looiis''Clark called out in that enduring way he tends to do ever sense they had got together that is when Lois outpaces his greatly, Still by the time Linda was in the store he had to take about 2 or 3 minutes to catch up 1 and a half of that do his 'civilian' walk as Lois had called Clarks none superhero walk. The other amount do to the husle and bussle of the town .


Kara not realizing that her mom had seen how she looked at the toy or the fact it was picked up nevermind even noticing it getting hidden in the basket of toys''Um well maybe ,do you think he'd like chibi plushies of his friends? I just spotted some on the lower rack before you come up obviously''Kara motioned to a assortment of good guy plushies as lets face it hero's might not be sell outs but most are a sucker for agreeing to have there image be in someway or form be used for items for kids sure they got some steedy cash flow from it but its not there objective to get cash its purely so the kids could enjoy themselves with toys and clothes that have there image,item,gadgets or symbols on it then again theres even vitamins with the hero's in the same way to encourage the kids to take them and stay healthy and diapers put out with the same aspect for those that need protection so they wouldn't be so reluctant to wear them regardless Kara was waiting her mom to reply to the question
