Dark Terrors and Desperation in Diapers (private)

"Fine I will. Grandma , can we use your washing machine , we need our clothes washed"
"Oh that's fine , just put them in a laundry basket and I'll get them washed and hung out to dry today and back with you by night time" she replied , letting the two get stuck in , Luke eating more enthusiastically than Hayley at this point since the girl had already had a early breakfast. Luke nodded "sounds like a good idea , be nice to cool down once we get outside" he said looking out at the glittering sun on a blue sky , no sign of any cloud. He flicked though the paper , most history and other small ads. He saw some picture of the fields , and the creepy scarecrows to go with it.

Grandma had a knack for these things. The poor boy was a bedwetter, although only under certain circumstances, and she pinned them out tight enough so little tots couldn't mess about with them and get them off. Not saying Luke was a toddler , but she could deal with toddlers much better than teens , having said that there was only one other teenager in the local area and he was hesitant to approach her "That's fine , just don't go out any further , don;t want you getting lost." she said "Oh and be back at noon , lunch is served then." she said as she finished her own plate "Okay Luke , you head up stairs and lie on your bed , legs spread and I'll come up and let you get ready yourself"

"Do you want me to come?" Hayley asked Luke, knowing if it were her, she wouldn't want to be in that kind of awkward position by herself. Also, it offered her a chance to escape from her breakfast, still only half eaten, where the others had finished. She looked for a drink, the salty bacon and sausages making her thirsty, her stomach heavy and unsteady with the unfamiliar morning influx. It wasn't that the food was unpleasant; far from it, in fact, but just a long way from the simple bowl of cereal and glass of orange juice that Hayley was used to. She'd thought she'd done well herself, to begin preparing both toast and eggs.

At least her grandmother had simply left the laundry basket option open. Hayley only had one thing she really needed washing, and she'd already decided that would have to wait for now. Again, perhaps later though, when she could disguise any wet patches in combination with a wet swimsuit. That, after all, would kind of need washing the same day.

He shrugged "I guess , but no looking" he said , a strip of bacon hanging out his mouth. He slurped it up into his mouth and chewed , finishing the monster breakfast , although feeling very full right now. Getting up he waddled out into the hall with Hayley and started up the stair "so , when are you gonna ask her to have some diapers?" he asked as he stepped up the stairs. "Just saying , I mean I asked and I got , granted I feel stupid and helpless but my beds dry , and I suppose I don't have to worry about midnight leaks like with the pull ups" he said as he went into the bedroom and sat down on the bed , waiting for his grandma to come in and start the change.

"Huh?! What?" Hayley gaped, as she followed Luke carefully up the stairs, shocked beyond denials that he seemed to have seen right through to some of her very strangest inner thoughts. "What makes you think that...? ...and, did you ask her?!" she flustered, taken aback. She'd though her grandmother had put Luke into that diaper strictly as a result of his accident, putting her at the same risk. But then, he had gone along with it confidently enough. Perhaps it was an optional thing; a sensible utility in this house without indoor plumbing. After all, Hayley knew one thing for sure, now: if she woke up desperate in the middle of the night, she would wet the bed before she risked a nighttime trip to the outhouse... So perhaps a diaper was a good precaution, for either of them.

"I suppose anything is better than... what's out there... at night..." she half agreed, cautiously, as she watched Luke get up onto the bed. Suddenly it occurred to her; when her grandmother had said 'change', was she just talking about helping Luke out of his diaper? Surely she didn't intend to put another one on him again, now? After all, his 'accident' had been during waking hours. But if that were the case, was this the moment, now, that she would be expected to ask to join him? Suddenly, her mouth felt very dry, and her heart began to flutter with both anxious and excited anticipation. She swallowed, nervously, and looked up to the doorway.

"Oh well , you're generally not very good at holding everything in , it's just gotten a little worse , I think we're both just a little on edge because of.....the new place, yea" he said , sounding like he was convincing himself. He glanced out the window at the field , both of them knew what they were talking about. "That and you're as subtle as a bull in a china shop , wayyyy to interested in them to just make conversation. No I didn't , why would you think I would do something as irresponsible as that. You don't go about telling everyone about my night time problems, so I don't think I should be going around talking about yours" he said , almost offended she would suggest that "but better safe than sorry. Trust me , a wet bed is a lot worse than a wet diaper , to wake up in and to clean" he said.

He would have continued but Grandma came in and stood over the boy , towering over him as he had his pyjama pants sharply tugged down , getting a squeak from him as she expertly worked her nimble fingers into getting the pins out and laying them on the side. Folding the diaper open and took Luke's hand and lifted him up "right , now you can go get washed" she said , reliving him. He gave a look to Hayley before leaving , the sooner she did it the better it was and she could stop worrying about everything.

"Uh..." Hayley blushed, finding herself abruptly alone with her grandmother, as the old lady tidied up the soured remains of Luke's diaper. She'd read, clearly enough, too, what Luke was expecting of her. But nevertheless, she still couldn't bring herself to be quite that direct about it.

"Once he's got washed, is Luke going to have to wear a diaper in the daytime, too?" she asked, nervously. After all, that was when Luke's accident had been. As far as Hayley knew, his grandmother didn't even know about him having specifically night time difficulties. But then, despite herself, and before her grandmother had time to answer, she found herself blundering ahead, nevertheless. "If he does... do you think perhaps I should wear one, too?" she gestured, without clear meaning, searching for a suitable explanation or an excuse. "You know... to keep him company... so it's fair."

She swallowed, standing one foot over the other, so her legs were almost crossed, kind of tying herself up in knots, half wishing she hadn't spoken out without thinking, half wondering what her grandmother was about to say.

Grandma shook her head "no , he explained his situation , he needs them at night during storms and sometimes if he's feeling a little blue. I'm sure he'll come tell me when he needs them again" she explained tidying the folds of cloth up and went to leave "Hmm , I don't think he was too embarrassed about it last night so he should be fine and you shouldn't worry yourself about it" another plan foiled. But something in the girls tone had struck with her about her true intentions. He paused before leaving. She returned not to long after , a fresh diaper in hand , this one had cute butterfly's in pinks and purples and put it down on the bed "Come over here dear. She beckoned , getting her to walk over to her where she moved her onto her lap "what's this all about , you seem very nervous ,jumpy , and stressed. Would it make you feel better to be like Luke and dapered up like him?" she asked , putting all the odd comments and events Hayley had been in and trying to find a common factor. So far it would make sense to have her diapered so she could avoid any other accidents and situations. She new how disarming she was being and leaving her vulnerable so was careful with her word choice and topics to tread on with the teen.

"Um," Hayley squirmed, feeling very awkward and not even sure of her own feelings. The pretty patterned diaper did seem to hold a strange fixation, but she was still sure there was no way she was supposed to embrace such a thing. "Well, perhaps next time, if Luke was..." she tried to reconcile, "perhaps, then, I just thought, maybe I should too..." She swallowed nervously, aware even here, she was treading around a strange impropriety; yet it felt strange too that the domineering old lady seemed to be almost encouraging such an approach.

Staring at the diaper in her grandmother's hand, Hayley couldn't help but wonder what would happen if she answered the question entirely affirmatively. Would her grandmother put that diaper on her now, for the whole of the day. And how would that even work? It wasn't the pull-up type that she would have recognised from some of Luke's previous years. It looked like the kind she would be need to be put into and pretty much stay in.

"I mostly don't have accidents, though..." she murmured, still looking at the thing. "So, what about just needing to go like normal?" She wriggled uncomfortably, feeling very awkward held on the old lady's lap. "Would I have to...?" she gestured wordlessly at the diaper, blushing, and once again returning to wondering how Luke addressed that side of things. It was all very well if you couldn't help it, but what about when you could?

Grandma hushed her a little , rocking her back and forth "it's okay , it's okay" she said , using the same method she used on Luke "you don't worry about a thing. You've had a couple and you've dealt with them as well as you could. So tonight when I get Luke ready, I want you to come in too and you can get a good night's rest. If you start during the day you just come by and say so and we can have you in them during the day until you get used to things and they stop" she said patting her back "you will tell me if Luke has any as well won;t you. It took a lot of coaxing to get him to explain himself properly about just his bedwetting and I think he's holding back" she said making sure she was comfortable and soothed. "If you want to use the potty , you need to undo the pins. You can come get me , or I can show you how to. There's a trick to them" she said putting her large arms around her and holding her close.

"Oh, well, if it's that easy!" Hayley recognised, despite herself. She'd assumed that being in one of these diapers would pretty much leave her trapped, and ultimately obliged to do what a baby would do. She tried to explain that to her grandmother, "I thought if I was in a diaper..." she blushed, "I thought I'd have to pee in it. But... if it is just in case..."

She caught herself, just in time. What was she about to do? Talk herself into one right now?

"I mean..." she hurried, "perhaps tonight then, like you say... and, yes, I'll tell you about Luke..."

Quickly, she slid herself down off her grandmother's knee, feeling very strange being rocked like that, if not entirely unpleasant.
