Dark Terrors and Desperation in Diapers (private)

Luke headed up with her and got into bed under the covers and sighed "would half expect a crib up here by now" he groaned "leave the door open. Don't leave me in the dark , I'd kinda like the chance to stay dry" he said as he found his cuddly toy, putting the bottle and pacifier on the bedside table , like hell he was going to use them , he was not five years old and wasn't going to act like it if he could help it. He got enough humiliating babyish situations already he didn't need more. The blond just seemed annoyed by all this rather than scared and thankful. Sure he was protected , but he didn't need this much. Least he had soft pyjamas and the diaper wasn't too bad on his skin too. "Whatcha wanna do tomorrow, apart from hide and seek?" he asked "I think I wanna head back down to the gas station , take a look around there. Might be something interesting."

"Don't forget about the lake," Hayley reminded him, sliding her legs into her own bed, and hoping she would sleep soundly now through to the light of morning. "I want to get to that rock and that waterfall, and spend some time over there." A day spent relaxing in just their swimsuits, under the warm safety of the sun, seemed like just what she needed right now to level her head. That, and some sleep, and to get out from under some of the embarrassing and antique ways of their grandmother for a while. She wasn't quite sure what else the gas station area might promise, though she certainly wasn't adverse to walking back down there if Luke wanted. Just as long as they stayed away from the scarecrows, and were back well before nightfall this time. Luke wasn't the only one who would be grateful for all the light available tonight. Right now, it seemed almost like the only thing holding the darkness outside at bay.

But morning would solve all of those problems. Hayley could feel how tired she was, and how ready her body was for any bed. Just sleep through, she urged herself. Let all the problems of the night pass in unconsciousness. And please, above all else, let her please not need the bathroom again before morning...

"Yea , if it's nice tomorrow we can go there too" he said with a smile "maybe forget about tonight's....embarrassment" he said , squeezing his legs together to feel the padding between his legs. Luke looked over to her and hugged his teddy "least we're safe in bed huh" he said , looking up and closing his eye , the light calming him , but he was pretty sure he would be wet in the morning. He snuggled down and fell asleep. His dreams were filled with water and creatures in shadows , those scarecrows showed up more than once and gave him a scare. In bed he slept peacefully , although he soaked himself more than once, good thing he had the diaper to stay dry.

Hayley slept too, though more uneasily than Luke, with many things playing on her mind. The conscious and the unconscious seemed to mingle as she slipped in and out throughout the night. Constantly, she couldn't help but be tormented by thoughts of the days humiliations, and imagined terrors lurking just beyond the windows with every creak and rustle of the wind. She worried, too, about her bladder, subconsciously almost wishing she did have a nappy on like Luke, excusing her from any expectation if such an issue did come up. Of course, thinking about it was bound to increase her sensitivity to such things, and on a number of occasions she half awoke, only to have to persuade herself she was imagining things. Not half as much as she imagined sudden dark sweeping shapes coming bursting into the room, almost jerking upright before she was swallowed instead by tiredness and denial.

Little wonder, therefore, that she woke very early and poorly rested. Yet she felt no desire to stay in bed. She had no idea what time it was, only that it must be morning, or close to it, as she could see the first golden-red rays of the sun mottling their way past the curtains. Gratefully, she slid her feet out of bed and down onto the cold floor.

"Luke?" she shook him gently, not wanting to face the day alone. Anyway, she'd want someone to walk over to the outhouse shed with her again, soon. Even if it was light enough yet, she still wasn't sure she'd feel too secure about it any more. Her legs felt kind of shaky even at the thought.

Luke cracked his eyes open at the sound of his name being called , looking over he saw his sister standing by his bed "hmm?" he asked sleepily , his eyes taking longer to blink , wanting to slip back to sleep. He could see the rays of sunshine and sighed "hmm , what time is it. What could you want at this ungodly hour of the morning?" he asked groggily , the boy had never been a morning person , a combination of his own laziness, body clock, a bad nights sleep and waking up wet ;either in wet sheets if he didn't tell his parents or wet diaper if he did, both put him in a bad mood. On this morning he could feel his crotch was warm and humid , better than a store bought diaper that's for sure , they were always cold clammy and felt wet or close to leaking come morning. Although the cloth ones kept him dry they had swelled a fair bit , he couldn't even close his legs, they were held firmly separated by about maybe an inch of wet padding.

"I woke up, and it's morning," Hayley squirmed uncomfortably, not quite sure how to explain away her desire for urgent company. Instead, she rested a hand on his shoulder, almost wishing she could climb into bed with him, like he did with her when they were younger. "I thought you might want to get up..." she suggested weakly, at last. "I don't know about you," she added, hopefully, "but I'll need to walk out to that outhouse again before long." She cast a worried glance towards the window. It was pretty light out there by now, but that didn't definitely mean that nothing were lying in wait out there. Once again, she almost wished for a nappy like Luke's that would spare her from the responsibility. Speaking of such:

"Is that nappy still dry?" she asked Luke plainly, gently squeezing his shoulder, and not expecting him to have any awkwardness about answering. Not with her, anyway. Perhaps she could help him with it now, if it was, or even if it wasn't. Then they could both get changed, toileted, and dressed for the day independently, before their grandmother appeared on the scene.

"No , can't say I want to get up at dawn , not now and not ever" he said looking up at her "yea , it's light out you'll be fine" he said rolling over. At the question of wither he was dry he rolled back over "no , why the sudden curiosity, you're not offering to change me" he said suspicious of her question. He sighed , he wasn't going to get back to sleep with her annoying him like this "fine , come on" he said , getting back up onto his feet "I assume you're wanting me to go out with you to the outhouse" he said folding his arms. He clutched his own teddy , waddling as he moved towards the door. It wasn't easy and he went bow-legged a little as he moved around, clearly these were not for during the day when he would be more active an moving about more. He lead the way down , rather obvious he was padded under his pyjamas , but was annoyed so wasn't feeling embarrassed , although him taking the lead did look a little silly with him dressed like an infant.

He walked her down to the field where the sun was just rising up. he place was eerily silent , not a single bird , bug or the wind was doing anything to make sound "hurry up then. I' getting cold" he said hugging his bear tighter to conserve warmth.

Shyly, Hayley followed her brother, amazed at his confidence in leading her so assertively, despite his own diapered state.

"I'm sorry," she found herself apologising, as he led her so promptly outside there was no time to think of getting dressed first, or even shoes. "There's no rush, exactly... It's not desperate or anything. I guess if I had a diaper, like you, I wouldn't even have to worry about it..." Her mouth was running away with her, as they walked swiftly across the dry dusty ground. "And I would change you, if you wanted me to..." He was her brother, after all. Not like he needed to be shy about anything, around her.

She slowed her pace as they neared the field, eyeing the scarecrows suspiciously and approaching with caution, but it seemed last night's fears had evaporated with the sunrise. Perhaps next time she could go by herself, especially since Luke had clearly already dismissed any such concerns. Maybe she'd been imagining it all in her previous sleepless state, including her brother's reaction. Maybe now she'd slept it would all be alright again.

Mind you, there was still an odd atmosphere about the place. Why was it so quiet? Surely the morning chorus should be in full echo by now. And Luke was right, there was a chilliness in the air that didn't seem to fit with the golden warmth of the sun. Best to make this quick. Hurriedly, she opened the wooden door of the tiny cabin and sat down, not bothering to close it behind her as she adjusted her nightdress and leaned forwards slightly. Showing an apologetic smile to Luke, she managed to vent easily into the deep space beneath her, and sat patiently while she drained there.

"All done," she announced presently, patting herself dry as best she could and getting up. "Do you want to? Or are you just going to do it in your diaper?" She was feeling more confident now, and a little more ready to take back control now the current obstacle had once again been conquered. Casually, she came back to Luke and rested a hand on his back, letting him know she was there for him, whatever.

Luke stood outside pouting , wanting to be back in his nice cosy bed , soaked padding or not. Although he had to give it to Grandma , she knew how to take care of 'baby' issues , she had diapering down to a fine art. "Either way you'd better go , you're not the best. On monopoly you would get water works since you've got a bladder like a seive" he commented with a giggle. "Nah , I'd like to at least get cleaned and dressed myself , keep some independence" he said , although his only experience was with disposals and that was just ripping the tabs off , a cloth one was a entirely new kettle of fish.

Luke was rather thankful for the silence , even easier to get back to bed without song birds chirping at him. When she came out he nodded "finally" he said , still in a mood over the wake up time. Huffing he strode back towards the house , waddling as he did "It's on too tight , can't tug it down , that and I'm going back to sleep , don;t want to go with it on loose or something and have wet sheets" he said honestly , not wanting to say he would deliberately soil himself. The sleepy boy went back upstairs as quietly as he could , careful not to let anything creak and slipped back into his still warm bed. Sighing he snuggled down and drifted back to sleep.

Hayley followed Luke back in in silence, feeling a little rebuffed and somehow like the little sister now. Having worn them all night, he really wasn't at all disturbed by his diapers, and indeed actually seemed quite at ease with the idea; though it was strange the way he wouldn't even allude to the pragmatic reality of wearing them. If he hadn't already, sooner or later he'd obviously have to pee into them. It was strange that he could accept that, yet at the same time not want her, his caring sister, to know anything about it. It wasn't like he had anything to be embarrassed about around her; especially since their grandmother would doubtless have to know the results, regardless.

Maybe it would be better if she was wearing one herself. She couldn't get the bizarre notion out of her head as she dressed quietly beside the bed that Luke had so grumpily returned to. Perhaps, tonight, she should confess to her grandmother how worried she was about making excursions in the night, and simply ask if she could share in his embarrassing alternative. Her cheeks reddened at the thought, but yet at the same time the notion held a strange appeal. Would her grandmother be aghast at the suggestion? She'd certainly been ready enough to diaper Luke after a single accident, suggesting only the possibility of others. Had she done hers in her pants, rather than the flowerbed, wouldn't she already have ended up in the same position herself.

Frankly, thinking about the fear of what lay outside, mere issues of dignity no longer seemed quite as important. Not that Hayley ever wanted to humiliate herself before her grandmother in quite the same way, ever again.

Still barefoot, but otherwise properly dressed in jeans, jumper and t-shirt, Hayley left her brother, who seemed to already be back asleep, and crept down the stairs. She still didn't want to go outside on her own, otherwise she would have gone and cleaned up the despoiled part of the garden, but perhaps she could get some breakfast underway. Surely her grandmother would be pleased with that; though she was a little wary about making herself too at home in someone else's kitchen and taking liberties with someone else's food. Still, she could boil a kettle and toast some bread, if nothing else; that must surely be a useful thing to do.
