She said before tossing out a Pokeball, out popped a Pidove she spoke up as soon as the cute chubby bird appeared "This is the native bird of my home region, you probably won't find another in all of Johto." She said proudly as her Pidove gave a little flap with it's wings.

“A change?” Lyra lifted up her skirt and blushed bright crimson upon seeing she was wet. “Th-Thank you.” She mumbled, releasing Sydney who balanced on her tail.

"What a cutie.' she said admiring Lyra's Pokemon "Just like her companion. Anyway looks won't get you everywhere, Pidove use Gust!" She comanded as her Pokemon flew about 3 feet in the air and flapped it's wings, causing wind to build up and hit Lyra's Pokemon

Lyra didn’t think her face could get redder as Sydney endured the gust. “U-Use Scratch!” She yelped, the Sentret leaping into the air and trying to scratch at the Pidove’s face

"You know these early gym battles aren't nearly as exciting as back when I was in Unova, but I can still have my fun with them. Pidove! Go in for Aeiral Ace!" She shouted out as Pidove began charging at Sentret. The trick was that this was just a bluff on Skyla's part, her Pokemon didn't have access to Aeiral Ace yet, well outside of TM, but she needed to be fair to her oponents and not rub in that in Unova TM's can get used an infinite amount of times.

“Sydney, get out of the way!” Lyra yelled. She bit her lip as Sydney dove to the side, waiting for the white glow to appear around the Pidove.

Skyla let out a little chuckle "You know Aerial Ace can't miss, dodging is pointless." She said, this was meant as a little test for trainers, since theoretically the attack should be unavoidable. "Alright Pidove for real this time let's go for a Gust!" She shouted as Pidove passed by Sentret before turning around and unleasing it's attack on the fuzzy Pokemon.

Lyra bit back a curse as Sydney was battered by the strong winds. “I-I didn’t know that! Sydney, use Scratch over and over!” The Sentret rolled out of the winds and once again leapt at the Pidove, Scratching it’s face and wings like a rabid Skitty.

Before Whitney could give another command Pidove had been knocked out. "Pidove return." Skyla said as she returned the bird to her Pokeball. "Not bad, but my next Pokemon is my ace in the hole. Here we go Ducklet!" She shouted while throwing her Pokeball having it land as a small blue Pokemon comes out "No matter witch Partner you chose you won't have an easy time against this Pokemon. Now Ducklet use Bubble to finish off Sentret!"
