Luz pouts

Luz: okay Mama

She stops digging

Luz: can I put the flowew in?

[theJozza]

Gwen: Of course little mouse. Just be gentle and then we'll bury it in.

She coos handing one of the flowers to Luz.

Lilith: Oh well no, at least not for centuries.

King: Uh, what do you mean?

Lilith: Well legend says that Grom once had a sibling, technically it was referred to as its "sister" but of course such creatures aren't truly male or female. In any case it was known as Materon, the dream eater.

King: Dream Eater?

[Ultrasonic16]

Luz smiled and takes the flower and puts it in the hole.


Luz: yay I did it!

[theJozza]

Gwen: Excellent job sweetie.

She coos, patting Luz's head and then helping her fill in around the flower with dirt.

Gwen: Now let's not forget the rest of our flowers.

She says gesturing to the rest of the tray.

Lilith: You see, while Grom exposes beings to their worst fears, Materon exposes them to their innermost desires.

King: Well that doesn't sound bad.

Lilith: On the face of it, no. Unfortunately what it did wasn't quite as generous as it sounds. You see it doesn't let the victim pick and choose what dream or even how they live it. It forces them into whatever dream that they pick and in whatever form that Materon chooses. The most common outcome was trapping someone in a twisted misinterpretation of what they actually wanted.

Luz: yay! I get to dig more


She starts digging more holes quickly

Gwendolyn and Eda both chuckle at this, with the latter stepping away to be out of dirt range. Meanwhile Lilith and King have stopped on a bench.

King: So this, Materon basically granted peoples wishes but distorted them...why? And what happened to her, er it?

Lilith: Well it is believed that the creature was able to feed on the emotions released by its victims similarly to how Grom feeds on its victims fear. As to what happened to it, it was also imprisoned as Grom was, but no one actually knows where. Some think it was buried far deeper into the isles. Others that it was sent to a far off island. Regardless it hasn't been heard from in centuries.

King: Okay, thanks Aunt Lilith.

Lilith smiles and pats his head.

Lilith: Of course, sweetie. Now I better go help dad with lunch.

She walks inside while King remains on the bench thinking.

Luz stopped digging and was covered in dirt

Luz: is this a good hole Grandma?

[theJozza]

Gwen: It's perfect, sweetie.

She coos and places the last flower in, filling in some dirt and patting it down. She then stands up and scoops Luz up. The two of them and Eda looking at the new flower bed

Gwen: Great work little mouse, grandma's so proud. Now everytime you visit you can see the flowers you planted.

Eda: Yeah good job kiddo.

Eda smiles and pats Luz's head, which doubles as rubbing some of the dirt off.

Eda: Of course this means you're gonna need a B-A-T-H later...

King for his part is watching this unfold, but also thinking about what Lilith said.

King: (Hmm, so this Materon was locked away...but maybe Luz's portal freed it, and it was so hungry it went to her...and since Luz's biggest dream was to go back and be with her mom....it did...this to her...)

Luz was happy at her accomplishment before hearing Eda spell and looking confused.

Luz: what's that Mama?

She asked confused

[theJozza]

Eda: Oh just some grown up talk, kiddo.

Eda winks at her mom who winks back.

Gwen: Come on then little mouse. I'm sure all that hard work made you hungry.

The three of them head in with King behind them, and soon the entire group is seated around a table, Luz of course in a high chair. Lilith is taking a turn at feeding Luz some pasta.

Lilith: Open wide for the pixie precious.

She coos "buzzing" fork around.
