Contrary to the empty town they stayed before, a neighboring town just a few miles away from it was burned down to ashes. It was really telling how close the conflicts can be with or without hitting your doorstep. It's scary. Knowing that it could have been your home if some lord deems it time to raid and pillage.

Kiyomi tried to shield the boy's eyes from the sight, but quickly realized that it would be of no use - even with his innocent outlook, he has already harbored far more in that feminine body than what a child should have been expected to do. Miyako shakes his head. Looking up at her, Miyako simply stated "We have to keep moving." He speaks with a voice of hope. His eyes show a child scared of what could be approaching. The two journeyed for two days before arriving at a different town. This one much bigger, and definitely had more life to it. "Tsukacho" was what was etched on the front gates plaque. "Mommy, look there's so many people!" Miyako says with a smile happier than he's had since leaving the temple.

"Yes, there are." Kiyomi nodded as she wiped the sweat off her face. After wandering aimlessly, she didn't really consider herself a shrine maiden - not anymore. Perhaps the answer lied at the end of this path, but she doesn't know. Whatever the case it may be, perhaps this town could provide some answers, or even just a small reprieve from the lands. While there was still enough money to not worry for a while, it was a future they'd have to face eventually.
