A dog lay motionless in an alley, blood seeping from its wounds. Its owner, bent down beside it, was crying in sorrow. Bullies, animal abusers, had brutally beaten the dog and made its owner watch. The person was sure they could take care of a dog this time, but was now wrong.

One week eariler...

Helen was happy. She'd finally saved up enough enough money to buy everything she needed, and headed to the pet store.

She'd had a dog once, but had been unable to really handle the responsibility and had to give it away some time ago. Now she was older, wiser, and more financially secure, and had decided to give owning a dog another shot.

In these years of time, all animals have gone extinct due to the extreme overgrowth of the human population. In order to keep it under control, governments of all types around the world made a group of people called the Capters that take people at random and turn them into the extinct animals, depending on the body structure.
In Helens city, the most common animals are dogs.

Helen walked into the petstore, making a beeline for the dog section to see if she could find a dog she liked.

There were various species of dogs at the store at the moment: Dalmations, Pugs, German Shepards, Beagals, Cocker Spainels, Chihauhaus...
They were all contained in large dog cages, big enough them to walk around in.
One or two dogs put their paws on the bars of their cages and wagged their tail at the site of Helen.

"Hm..." Helen stopped by the Cocker Spaniels, glancing into the cages curiously.

Its hair was a light blonde color, as it has been when it was human. Its ears and tail looked soft and fluffy and was a golden brownish-red color. Its skin the same color as the fur on its ears and tail. By looking at its chest, you could tell it was female.
The Cocker Spainel was lying comfortably in its cage, glancing back at Helen.
