Sarah went over to her room to finish unpacking, organizing, and setting things up there. Pretty confident that the boy's would warm up to them before too long.
Luke used whichever character, and didn't have much preference, currently he was playing as Nightwing. Mostly just because of the ability to do flips and still have the grappling hook. Time wasn't much issue for him either, he didn't really think about much besides how to beat the current level, enemy, or puzzle they were on. The occasional "Over here." or "Get that one!" Was the only verbal communication between the two, the rest was just laughs or gestures.
Sarah was setting the alarm clock on the nightstand when Nick came in. "I suppose we should go and see what they're up to you're right." Sarah said, hoping she didn't already allow the boy's too much responsibility in being unsupervised for a little while.

Nick saw that Sarah seemed a little bit unsure, as he was thinking the same thing. But he knew that the boys were seven years old, and it wasn't like they were outside or anything - after all he highly doubted that the boys parents sat there in the basement with them and watched them play video games. "I'm sure it's ok...they're just down there, and I'm sure if they were up to anything we'd hear something. I just figured we could go down and check up, just to make sure." he said as he began to walk down the stairs.
Downstairs, as the boys reached the end of a level, Connor raised his hand for his brother to give a high-five. The two worked well as a team, and while they had beaten the game a while ago and had done every level before, as little kids they often didn't mind playing the same levels again. Connor didn't even notice the footsteps upstairs, as he was in his own world with just himself, his twin, and their game

"Kids are often times the most quiet when they are up to something." She reminded him while walking down the first set of stairs to the first floor of the home. "But you're right, I'm pretty sure I can hear some kind of video game down there." She said while heading over to the basement door, and starting on the stair case there.
Luke happily reached up and high-fived his twin as they went through the stats and loading screens for the next level. While he was in his own world as well, Luke for one, did notice the footsteps..Especially the top basement door opening and the noise from the steps directly above them almost. He briefly considered hiding or going somewhere else, but decided to ignore it and keep playing the game for the time being.

Nick had to nod his head...she had a point. "That's true I guess...." he said as he followed behind her, pausing at the top of the staircase looking down...looked like they had been right. The kids were just playing video games. "Hey guys.." he said pretty cheerily, "Whatcha playin Connor?" he asked, recognizing that it was one of the lego games, which he had seen, but not sure which one from the short glimpse of the screen. He directed the question at Connor mostly because from his experience, kids always got less shy and more talkative when it was about something they cared about - something from their lives that they liked to talk about - and he had hoped that it would help to continue to break some of the ice with Connor.
While Luke had heard them come down, Connor had been too distracted to notice, and at the sound of Nick's voice Connor practically jumped off his seat and hit his head on Luke's arm trying to duck behind him. Connor rubbed his head but didn't cry or anything...he had just been startled. He had almost forgotten that the babysitters were here, and Nick's voice hadn't been familiar to him. He blushed a little, feeling more embarrassed than scared...he looked to Luke, but the question had been to him..."Um...Lego Batman...?" Connor said, as if he was asking rather than telling him.
Nick cringed just a little when Connor jumped....he felt kind of stupid scaring him like that...he should have known better.

Sarah simply sighed at the display, She'd figured the boy's would have heard them, but then again, Connor had obviously been too distracted by the game.
Luke on the other hand startled only slightly, having not expected the babysitter to simply call out to them. "You okay?" He asked Connor while looking his head over a bit before looking up at Nick, a flat, questioning look at that..Not a glare..But more a observation and evaluation of the older male's intelligence.
Sarah had to giggle a bit at the way Luke looked at Nick as if he were stupid or something, and walked down to the couch, "Sorry about that sweetie, you okay?" She asked Connor as well while gently patting his little blonde head.

Nick gave the best 'sorry' look he could at Luke, trying not to laugh at the look on the boy's face. He had done a stupid thing for sure, and seeing the little seven year old boy look at him as if in disbelief at how a babysitter could be so dumb just took it over the top. "Sorry Connor.." Nick said, "Didn't mean to scare you"
Connor for his part seemed to be doing pretty well especially helped when both Sarah and Luke checked on him. "I'm okaaay" he said still rubbing his head a bit.
Nick went over to look at the TV. "Lego Batman huh? That sounds pretty fun...what do you do in the game?" he asked sincerely. He secretly hoped he wasn't being too obviously awkward. The truth was that the unease the boys, especially Connor, felt around him made him sort of uneasy as well. It was adorable, sure, but Nick felt a weird pressure that he hadn't felt before though he had babysitted many times in the past with no issue. It was as if he said the wrong thing he'd put the little boys back in their shell, and that actually made him overthink things a bit too much. He realized he should probably take a step back and not let it get in his head.

Sarah smiled, "Alright, I thought you hit Luke's elbow for a second there, that's all." Sarah said, having taken the little bump for being worse than it actually was. She figured Luke wondering if Nick was stupid or not was probably better than being angry.
Luke sighed, and looked up at the TV, he thought a moment, and gave a decent answer to Nick's question. "You beat up the bad guys, and then you move things around to get past em', so you can get to the other bad guys and the boss for that level...Except here it's like Lego blocks for people, and they don' really die..Just kinda break apart I guess." He reasoned.
Sarah nodded along with the boy's explanation and smiled at him, "That sounds fun, I bet you're pretty good at the puzzles huh?" She asked the Twins. "But if you two would like a little snack, or just a drink or something we can fix that for you upstairs if you'd Like" Sarah offered.

Connor actually chimed in to add his voice to Luke's explanation "Yea...an' you c'n find stuff an' secrets an' stuff hidin' all over. But th' fun part is fightin' th' bad guys." he said, as enthusiastically as either of the babysitters had ever heard him. Still he sat ever so slightly closer to Luke than he had been when they had entered the room. Surprisingly, he even answered Sarah's question by himself. "I'm good at th' puzzles, but Luke's the best." he said, looking with adoration at his twin.
Nick smiled at how much Connor obviously loved and almost seemed to look up to his brother despite being the same age and looking almost exactly the same. Connor seemed a little shyer as if surprised at how much he had spoken, and so when Sarah offered a snack or a drink, Connor instead looked over to Luke. Connor was kind of thirsty...but didn't really wanna speak up himself and so looked to his twin brother to see if Luke would accept anything, hoping Luke would speak up for him.

Luke nodded along with what Connor said, "I like the puzzles too, but breaking blocks apart is more fun.." He agreed with his twin while contemplating the idea of a snack, it was common for them to have little snacks here and there..At their age they could do that without spoiling lunch or dinner, as long as it wasn't something like a ton of candy..Which they might have gotten into when they shouldn't..The twin's teamwork, Luke's planning, and ability's to clime things, made things that should be out of their reach rather accessible too them. Climbing inside the house was for the most part forbidden these days however.
"Uh..I guess..I dunno what I want though.." He answered after a moment and looked to Connor for some idea.
Sarah simply waited for the few moments, watching Luke contemplate it..It was obvious he still didn't trust them completely, otherwise she didn't see a reason he'd bother to think on such things. But overall she was happy he'd allow her to do something for the two of them. "Well..Do you boy's like fruit? Or maybe..Fruit snacks if they're there I guess and some juice?" Sarah suggested while Luke mulled it over some more.

Connor really did want juice...and he looked to Luke and slowly nodded his head up and down, letting Luke be the spokesman once more. Nick observed this but decided that at least Connor was talking a little more and he couldn't expect that much progress in just an hour. He was sure by the end of the day things would be fine. He just hoped the boys would be ok with the juice....after all he hadn't seen either of them use the bathroom yet and well....maybe he was being paranoid but he just wanted to make sure nothing happened with that as he knew the boys would get embarassed. Still he didn't want to suggest anything just yet....he would watch for any signs they had to go though just in case.
