Luke glanced at Connor before looking up at Sarah, "Uh-huh..I dunno if we have fruit or not..But Juice would be good..And something to eat.." He said softly, the idea of the bathroom wasn't much of a concern for him really..He didn't have to go too bad just yet, and the padding between his legs was dry as well..He'd assume the same could be said for Connor, as they usually had to go around the same time, Luke was using himself as an indicator for Connor.
Sarah simply nodded at the boys, sure as well that she could win them over with kindness and patience. "Alright..I'll just be up in the kitchen getting that ready then. Just come up to eat it, as far as I'm aware you're not aloud food in the basement." She pointed out before starting to head towards the steps. Sarah for one, wasn't too worried about potty issues, she was sure Luke was just being paranoid over his decision to wear overalls that their mother required them to wear training pants under because they were a little harder to get off and on. But still, as far as she was concerned if one of the boy's did have an accident, it really wasn't the end of the world.

Nick came over as Sarah walked away. "Yeah guys, and if you want anything else, or need anything just let one of us know, okay?" he said, "I know it's kind of early but think about if maybe you guys wanna go somewhere for lunch or something. If you guys wanna go out to eat we can take you," he suggested, figuring that it might be fun for them and might make them feel more comfortable. Nick walked up the stairs as the twins looked after him.
Connor finally turned to his brother "Less' get juice, I'm real thirsty..." he said. He wasn't hungry so much but he could definitely eat something.

Luke simply nodded as he went through the game menus until he got to the main one. "Alright..I'm kinda thirsty too I guess." He told his brother as they were left alone once again for the time being. "We should probably go upstairs then though..We can just play in our room after we're done." Luke added as he thought over the idea of going out somewhere.."Uh..Do ya' think maybe..They'd take us to the park?" He asked his twin, the park for them was a rare treat...One they rarely got because of their parent's busy schedule and constant phone calls or typing away at computers.
Sarah walked up the steps and over to the kitchen to see what else was in the fridge that the boy's might like. "Well, there's fruit juice..but not any fruit though..Check the pantry and see if there's a little something for them to munch on would you?" She asked Nick.

"Okay," Nick said, as he went to open up the pantry and look through what was inside. There were a few various crackers and cookies, though it wasn't exactly a healthy snack. "Think we can just give them some pretzels?" Nick asked, as he pulled out some little packs of them. "It'll at least tide them over til lunch."
Connor thought about it....maybe they would. They didn't get to go so much...that'd be really cool if they got to go..."...c'n we ask them...?" Connor asked. He had never thought about that. It seemed almost like it was impossible for anybody else to take them.

Sarah shrugged, "Yeah that's perfectly fine, I typically prefer something a little healthier but there's nothing wrong with pretzels really." She said while setting two cups on the table along with the fruit juice. And then proceded to put a paper towel down where the pretzels would go on the table.
"Yeah..I guess we can, I guess we should go upstairs though..They know Mommy doesnit' let us eat down here.." Luke said as he got up to go shut the game system and television off.

Connor looked up the stairs. How had they known? "Grownups know everythiiiing" he said in disbelief. But defeated he had to let Luke turn the game off, and go over to the stairs waiting for his brother. "Less' ask 'em bout th' park" Connor said. "They said we c'n ask anythin..." he remembered, and he hoped that that was on the list.
Nick laid the pretzels out on the napkins for the boys...not too much, just enough to hold them over til lunch. He put them back in the cupboard, and turned his head as the boys began to come up the stairs. "Hey boys, we put out some pretzels for you on the table. That ok?" he asked, not sure what they liked to eat. "Oh, and we poured some apple juice too," he added pointing to the cups.

Luke simply nodded, grownups did indeed know almost everything..While in reality their mother being as particular as she was about such things, probably told them in the rules list, along with bed times, and everything else of general importance. "Yeah..I don' see why we can't ask.." Luke replied, the worst he figured could happen was that they could say no.
Sarah sat at the table across from the places sat out for the boys with a glass of water, "So, did you boys have any ideas for lunch?" She asked them as they came into the kitchen.
Luke looked up at nick and nodded, "Thas' fine, pretzels are okay." He said before looking over at Sarah and shrugging his little shoulders, "I dunno..Whatever you want I guess.." He told her, as their Mother generally had breakfast and lunch worked out and chosen and less a request was made well in advance.

Connor climbed up onto the chair, eagerly grabbing for the apple juice, and taking a sip to quench his thirst. He thought about it again...and suddenly had an idea. "Um..." Connor said starting to speak, which surprised Nick who still pretty much could tell them apart based on which one was the shyer one. Connor looked at Sarah "Um...c'n we go t'Mcdonalds? An'....an' affer that go to th' park?" he asked sounding both eager and apprehensive. After the question he looked down a little since both of those things were kind of special occasions thing, and he felt he was asking too much.

Sarah found surprise as well, although the tone and posture of the boy asking the question suggested it was indeed Connor. She thought about his requests for a moment before answering however. "Well..I'm not so sure about Mcdonalds, we'd have to call your parents to see if they're alright with us driving you there, and if you need a car seat or not...But I don't see why we can't take a walk down to the park sweetie." She answered, hoping it was alright that they'd eat lunch at the house today until she could get in touch with their parents.
"I'll tell you what though, if you have something you'd like Nick and I to cook or make for you, we'll do our best to make it." Sarah offered as an alternative, and probably healthier option to fast food.
Luke simply nodded..He didn't see why his parents might get upset over driving with the babysitters..But then again, the reasons to why they were upset over anything often eluded him..Stock markets, and business relations weren't something a seven year old boy could very well understand..But the idea of going to the park certainly felt like a win, and put a boyish smile on his face as he drank from his cup of juice.

Connor smiled as well. Sure McDonalds would be awesome, but even getting to go to the park was really cool. It was fun to play outside, as long as Connor had his brother there. He was almost surprised the babysitters had said yes, but he was definitely pleased, Sarah and Nick continuing to win small points in the boy's mind. He munched on some of the pretzels, a pretty neat eater, as he ate rather slowly. He thought about lunch...they couldn't go to McDonalds...but now Sarah said they could have whatever they wanted? His parents most of the time just made stuff....could he really choose anything? Connor hopped off the chair and walked over to his brother Luke whispering in his ear..."Whaddabout grilled cheese?" It wasn't exactly a rare lunch, but it had always been one of Connor's favorites.
Nick watched Connor go over to whisper something to his brother. It seemed like Connor had some idea as to what he wanted for lunch, but he wondered why he hadn't just said it out loud. He had seemed to be getting much better about his shyness, and had even asked if they could go to the park. Nick guessed that the boy was still having a lot of trouble...that shyness must be a pretty big wall for him. It seemed like the park and McDonalds question was enough for him, before he would go back into his shell. Nick hoped that more and more he'd start talking. But he seemed to be getting more comfortable. Nick wondered what it was like for Connor at school...was he only like this with adults or was he like this with the other kids? He wondered how he'd do in a new classroom with 20 kids on a first day of school. He hoped that he wasn't too far in his shell to make friends, though he figured Luke probably helped him if they were in the same class, which from looking at the two of them Nick assumed they would have to be (though he wasn't sure whether or not schools liked to keep twins together or apart)
"What's that Connor?" Nick asked gently. He was trying to encourage the boy to open up just a little, though not encouraging hard enough to make him retreat farther into his shell. Just gentle prodding. But Nick figured that Luke would probably answer the question anyways.
