Luke was idly kicking his legs at the air and eating the pretzels where he sat, not much mess to be made there with such things. Although it was obvious the boy was thinking in his momentary silence. He took another sip of juice before offering Connor's suggestion, "Soo..Can we have grilled cheese after the park?" He asks, Sarah did say anything..And grilled cheese as far as he knew wasn't very elaborate if there Mother had time to make it on occasion.

Sarah smiled as Connor took what seemed to be the most natural option and asked his brother to speak for him. Fairly sure Luke would answer for him as always, but rather confident that Connor would eventually become less and less shy as he grew used to them. "Sure, we could do that, it's not a problem." She replies, earning a mutual smile from the twins and a 'thanks' from Luke. "But before we go..Do you guys need to..Use the restroom?" She asks.

Luke blushed at the question and shook his head, "No..I don' hafta' go..I'll know when I do.." He says obviously a bit embarrassed that she'd asked, and boarding on the edge of offense..Even if it was rather likely he and his brother would end up wet before they got home, his boyish pride made him not to keen on admitting such things at times.

Connor turned to look at Sarah and Nick, nodding his head to show his approval of Luke's suggestion. He had no idea what was hard or easy to make, all cooking seemed pretty hard to the boy. And something that tasted as good as grilled cheese couldn't be THAT easy. But he was pleasantly surprised when Sarah said it was no problem. He didn't say anything or offer thanks - Luke spoke for both of them - but he smiled, taking a couple more bites of pretzels. The two twin boys were small for their age, so reaching the table wasn't that easy, but they were able to do it without booster seats finally - something that made them feel pretty proud.

Nick looked at the boys when Sarah asked the 'restroom' question, looking for any signs that maybe they did have to go - whether crossing their legs, squirming, or holding themselves, but there didn't seem to be any. Luke said he didn't have to go, and Connor shook his head as well with a soft "Nuh-uh." Connor wasn't really embarrassed by the question. He was used to being sort of dependent, as usually he relied on his brother. He did however, take less care in actually trying to determine the state of his bladder. If it wasn't close to an emergency, Connor rarely said that he needed the bathroom. And when Luke said he didn't have to go, there was a very strong chance Connor would as well. He relied on others so much he didn't do too much introspection. Nick believed the boys, but wanted to make sure. As un-condescendingly as possible he asked, "Well do you think you guys should try before we leave, just in case?" he asked - not really meaning in case of an accident...just meaning in case they did have to go.

Connor looked to Luke for the answer, although this was a personal question he should be answering for himself

Luke simply shook his head at the question and blushed, "We're not gonna' have accidents.." He says, reading into it and perhaps taking it the wrong way, "I'm only doin' what Mommy says, thas'..We don' actually need em'." He says defensively in reference to the pull-ups they both wore, although he wasn't ready to admit once again he chose the outfit he did out of concern and paranoia. "Ist' fine, trust me.." Luke insists, as if more famous last words had ever been spoken.

Sarah simply nods, "Alright, If you're sure you don't need to go, we're ready whenever you boy's are I suppose." She replies after making sure her phone had a decent charge, deciding to trust the boy's and take their word for it as she looked over to Nick to see his thoughts on the situation.

Nick waited til the boys looked away and then shrugged his shoulders at Sarah. He didn't want to challenge them, as he had obviously already pushed too far. He wondered if maybe he had made the wrong move, but then decided he hadn't. Luke was obviously responsible but the kids were seven years old...even if they didn't seem a bit young for their age in some areas, and even if they hadn't had a history of accident, Nick knew that he could only trust them so far. If he spent the whole time not wanting to get on their bad side it'd be hard to be an effective babysitter. They were little kids, and kids make mistakes. But for the moment Nick would let it go. He had tried to push a bit, but Luke was clearly adamant. He didn't want to baby them either.

Connor finished up his juice, and then looked down apprehensively at his overalls, putting a hand over his crotch and the pull-up underneath. This motion wasn't due to any need to pee, but because Connor also felt self-conscious about the pull-up. Luke said they didn't need them, but Connor was reminded of the times that they had....but this time would be different. He moved his hand away. He didn't have to go now, and when he did he'd make sure to do it early this time. He wouldn't get caught up playing or anything...not this time. This time he'd get it right.

Connor nodded to his brother. "Less' go" he said to him, and hopped off the chair, forgetting about pullups and thinking only of the park. Nick could tell that Connor was excited, despite his recent retreat back into his shell. Nick had a feeling Connor's few bursts of talkativeness were like little explorations. He would peek out of his shell, stay out for a bit, and come back in. But every time he did, and realized that no harm had come of it, Nick had a feeling he'd spend longer and longer out. Connor waited for his brother so they could go over and get their shoes on. He had velcro shoes - he knew how to tie his shoes...but he wasn't exactly great at it. It was simply easier for the moment to have him in shoes he could get on and off more quickly. Plus Connor liked that better.

Luke nodded, somewhere he knew they should stop to go to the bathroom..But like most boy's his age he was impatient and prideful to some degree. And as far as he knew he didn't even have to go so there wasn't much point in trying. But overall he was too excited to want to prolong their departure for the park. And at Connor's suggestion he nodded, finishing his own drink and running over to the door slipped his shoes on, which had laces but he kept them tied so he could slip them on and off with relative ease, and he was pretty fast at tying them if they were to come undone. But overall they were a stamp of maturity and independence however minor for him.

Sarah shrugged as well, the worst that could happen is that the boys would need a change when they got home. "It'll be fine I'm sure, they're seven." She reminds him, And if something like that were to happen perhaps the boys would learn something from it and be a bit more careful in the future. "Are you boy's ready to go then?" She asks them while putting her phone in her pocket and picking up a small purse.

Nick noticed the fact that Connor had velcro shoes while Luke had laces. In a way he was almost surprised. They were so similar in appearance that these minor differences were somehow striking, yet somehow it seemed very right for them. He looked back and went to put the cups in the sink, as well as to throw out the napkins. He had to sigh a bit at what Sarah said. It was true, the boys were seven - but he would have felt better if they had at least tried. Still, it didn't matter all that much. They had pull-ups anyways. He just hoped they didn't need to use it for the sake of their own pride.

It wasn't belong before Connor had his velcro fastened and stood up next to his brother. "I'm ready..." he said softly. Nick smiled as he came back into the hall "Awesome, that's one. How about you, Luke? Ready to go?"

Outside, it was a great day for going to the park. The sun was out and it was nice and cool. Nick was actually happy to go outside, and it could be fun to bring the boys to the park - not to mention that it would most likely assist in breaking the ice.

Luke gave a little nod as he stood up from tucking the laces of his shoes away and looked up at the two adults, "Do we need jackets?" He asks them while gesturing towards a closet not to far away from the front door. He himself was generally not to temperature sensitive, but when his mother insisted he wear a light jacket he would usually concede and do so without much argument if any at all.

Sarah smiled at the boys, "My, we can actually tell you two apart a bit better now." She giggles while pointing to the differences in foot ware, which got a bit of a blush from Luke. At the question of the jackets she simply shrugged, "I don't think it's too cold out, but if you want one we can get it if you like." She replies while stepped over to open the door for the boy's so they could evaluate the temperature. Of which Luke simply nodded and shook his head, feeling perfectly comfortable in just his current attire.

Nick felt the breeze as the door opened, but he enjoyed it. He had always liked the cold much better than the heat. Luke seemed fine as well, and Nick agreed with Sarah - it was fine out. Suddenly however Connor spoke up.

"Um...I'll wear miiine," he said. "Ist' kinda cold..." he said, holding up a blue jacket towards Nick. It was interesting seeing the small differences between the twins - yes there personalities were different but Nick found himself strangely fascinated by the little things - he hadn't had all that much experience with twins and it was still a novel concept. But what was more surprising was that Connor had spoken to Nick directly. Nick figured Connor was old enough to not need help getting on his jacket, but he'd take anything he could get at this point.

"Sure thing, bud" Nick said, holding the jacket open for Connor who slipped his arms in. Connor fumbled at the zipper looking like he was having a little trouble. "Need help?" Nick asked, but just then Connor got it and pulled it up. "No, I'm okay.." Connor mumbled moving back towards his twin. Connor liked to be warm, and he got cold a bit more easily than Luke did.

"Alright, you boys ready?" Nick said, making sure he had his phone and wallet, and slipping his own shoes on (funnily enough he utilized the same strategy Luke did with leaving his laces tied to save some time). He stepped outside onto the front porch, holding the door open so Connor and Luke could follow him.

Luke seemed fairly content with the temperature, but overall he was pretty flexible when it came to such things. Luke took Connor's hand after he'd gotten his jacket on. It was a protective gesture, as well as, one that went along with their mother's wishes to not get separated when they went places. That were more often than not fairly crowded and easy for a pair of little boys to get lost in. So it was usually each boy's respective 'job' to keep track of their twin and make sure they stayed together. At this point it was more or less habit for Luke to do so as they stepped out of the house. "It's nice out..Yesterday it was kinda cold.." Luke remarks as he steps out onto the wide front porch with Connor.

Sarah smiled at the boys, physically the same, yet mentally different in quite a few ways so far. "I'm pretty sure we passed a park down the street on our way here, I hope that's the one you're thinking of." While gesturing down the large driveway to the street. "Make sure you boy's stay close now, it's near the main road." She instructs while stepping out after Nick and the boys.

(Sorry for the slower pace lately...I know it must be annoying, but I've been making an effort to be on so I'm always contactable.)

Connor held his brother's hand, as was the usual routine. He never minded this, in fact he always liked to do it anyways. Connor was very much his own person, as was Luke of course, but when they were linked together it often did feel like he became stronger, like Luke was half of him and together they were whole. Connor always drew a lot of strength from his brother and liked to know he was there. He looked to see where Sarah pointed. "Yea....thas' th' one." Connor said, still speaking every once in a while though not too often.

Nick stood on the porch as well, putting himself next to Luke rather than Connor - he had a feeling Connor would want to be the farther one away. It certainly was nice out though...and the park had looked nice on the way. It was probably going to be a really nice day. "Do you guys play over there a lot Luke?"
