Dreamchasers: Out of this World

Inky was at least feeling well enough to sit up. He watched Sprocket put on his suit, caught off guard by the strangely appealing shape of the bulky padding around the bird's behind. "Are you going to be able to get your suit on over that thing?" he asked. He decided he'd stay out of his own suit for now.

He also knew he'd eventually have to start walking again. The splint Sprocket made helped a lot, but getting about would still be difficult. "Hey, do you see anything I can use as a crutch?" he asked.

"Well, it's not exactly as stiff as a board, so," He then stretch the thing over the padding, giving his waist a puffy appearance. "it's all good over here. How about you? I kind of don't want to poke at these things too much since I don't exactly know what they're for." He said, but he would find out soon enough. Besides, he had yet to have an accident like the others.

"As for a crutch, you can probably just use a branch from a tree or something." He said, scratching at the top of his head lightly.

Inky rolled his eyes, reminding himself not to use euphemisms around the apparently literally-minded Sprocket. "Sorry, I should have been more clear. Can you get me a crutch? I'd get it myself, but... you know..." He stared at Sprocket.

He carefully pushed himself to the edge of the table and got down, being sure to keep most of his weight on his hands. "Hopper? Doctor Nefarious? You there?" he called out, unable to see either of them from his current position.

Hopper, who was still in the same spot at the support beam, had woke up with a bit of a snort. Then she opened her eyes, rubbed them clear, and saw Inky was awake at the moment. Smiling as she stood up, she said as Sprocket left to find Inky something to help out with walking, "Hey, Inky. I'm guessing you slept pretty well."

Inky gingerly tested putting wait on his bad leg, exploring difference stances and wincing when they didn't work out and sent vibrations of pain up his body. "I feel like I slept hard," he said, rubbing some of the sleep out of his eyes. "I'm still stiff, sore, and groggy, but as long as we don't need to fight right now, I'll manage. I'm worried about the Doctor though. Who knows what trouble she got up to while we slept? I hope you were able to manage her while I was out."

"Oh, we're all good." Hopper said, choosing to not tell Inky about their most recent discoveries. They were gross to her and honestly, she wasn't sure if they should even pay much attention to them or not. They only bothered them when they ate something after all. Hopper realized that some time back. "I'm guessing your leg is still pretty messed up... Also, that new thing that's on you, I put that on you and Sprocket got on too. We decided to do that for some protection again something our new bodies does." Not too much detail.

When Inky saw that Hopper was wearing the thing too, and she didn't seem to be concerned about it, he calmed down some. "What new thing is that?" he asked. He had a suspicion, and while he wasn't too keen on these strange things their bodies were doing, he knew that ignoring the situation would just make things worse in the long run. "Do you mean that wound that spills liquid? I guess I'm not the only one who made things wet."

At least they were coping with this strangeness together. But something didn't add up. "Where's Doctor Nefarious? I haven't seen her yet this morning."

"She's probably still upstairs." Hopper said with a shrug and looked up for a moment. "She said that she was going to use some other things she found, I think. So... Yeah, expect to see her messing around with something we don't know about. I really doubt its any kind of WMD, so we'll be fine."
