Dreamchasers: Out of this World

Doctor Nefarious was always shocked by how quickly Hopper could move. Even when she thought she had taken it into account, Hopper always managed to surprise her. And so before she could react, Hopper was grabbing onto her and holding on tight. She growled and attempted to shove Hopper's hands into the rabbit's face.

"Leave it to me," said Inky, and he was off toward the station, his scales rippling until he blended in with the stone tiles. He was able to knock several of the guards off their feet before they even realized what was going on. He kept pushing forward, clearing a path for Sprocket, although a couple of guards were coming after Sprocket from behind.

Hopper certainly knew how to use her hands too because as Nefarious was trying to push her hands back into her face, the lupine immediately let that happen, but she had leaped back to while still holding onto Doctor Nefarious, aiming to cause her to lose her balance and get her possibly thrown against the floor.

Meanwhile, Sprocket was quick to follow through the trail while occasionally looking back. There were a bit too many guards chasing him for him to handle all on his own. However, just possibly flow them down, he immediately tapped on his gauntlet, which caused it to start spraying out a white gas behind him as he aimed it backwards. This would make them choke on air for a bit.

Once they reached the ladder, Sprocket had immediately began to make his way up as quick as he could. Last thing he needed was for someone to grab onto his foot and make him slip right back down.

The Doctor struggled to keep her balance, ultimately tripping on her cloak and hitting the ground face-first. Undeterred, the cartoon bat spun onto her back and unleashed a sonic blast from her throat. It was the single trick she had up her sleeve, and one that Hopper was no doubt prepared for, since she's already faced it multiple ties, but it was all Doctor Nefarious had.

Most of the guards pursuing Sprocket stopped to cough and rub at their eyes. One unlucky one didn't stop chasing, but because he could no longer see, he missed the ladder and plowed into the wall. Sprocket and Inky were in the clear. They just had to figure out how to use the control panel.

Hopper knew this sort of attack from all the times it made her ear drums feel like they were going to rupture. She immediately backed off at first before full on leaping over the attack. She leaped high, really high, and Nefarious over here was probably going to get flattened if she didn't move.

Sprocket typically did this whenever he needed to hack and break something on a time crunch: Press buttons. All the buttons. Overload it, slow it down, anything he could do. So the first thing he did was just push a lever all the way up so it was set to max while turning up the amount of energy being loaded into that strange disc. Hopefully, this would overload the heck out of it.

Nefarious squealed as she saw the athletic bunny bearing down on her. She rolled out of the way, but this left her prone and exhausted, belly-down on the cold tiled floor. She gasped for breath, trying to contain her emotions. This wasn't how this was supposed to happen at all!

And then the sound of an angry whirring rose up from nothing and became so loud she had to cover her ears. She raised her head and saw the machine sparking, and groaning under some phantom force. The vibrations shook the entire facility.

On the platform, Inky continued to defend Sprocket. One guard, a bluejay, had decided to skip the ladder and fly up onto the platform instead, but Inky was ready. He plucked the bird out of the air and slammed him into the console, leaving a sizable dent in it.

If Nefarious that that Hopper was done with her, she would be wrong as the bunny had immediately grabbed her arms tightly in an attempt to restrain her while her partners were focus on disabling the portal. Speaking of which, that seemed to be going completely fine, although she wasn't sure how much time she would have before those guards decide to focus on her too.

At first, Sprocket had a smile on success on his face as the portal's frame seemed to be melting down. Then, out of seemingly nowhere, a guard got slammed straight down onto the console in front of him. Out of surprise, he promptly backed off. That was the only problem though as the guard being slammed into to the console did more than just severely damage it.

The portal was overloading from power being pumped into it, but the stability of the portal had been knocked out of proportion and now the thing seemed to start getting a tad bit... Violent.

The sparks flying off of the portal were loud and blinding. Nefarious tried to cover her ears, but her arms were pinned by Hopper. "Look at what you're doing!" she cried. "My masterpiece! My greatest achievement! You idiots are ruining it!"

The entire facility shook violently. Inky watched cracks spreading along the ceiling. "Uh oh," he muttered. "This doesn't look good."

Nefarious was thrashing about, trying to escape from Hopper's grip. She pulled herself toward the portal, toward her dream, her salvation... and then the center of the portal exploded in a sphere of brilliant light, which spread out, washing over all of them and drowning out everything.

Well, Hopper was too busy trying to stop Nefarious to notice that she was about to get caught in a potentially lethal explosion that would probably wipe things from existence in this area. When she looked up at the melting down portal, her eyes widened before everything was consumed in a bright flash, along with just about anyone in the room.

Sprocket was a little surprised himself as he was too busy staring at the console in surprise to notice the explosion about to occur for a moment. Before he could even turn around and high tail it out of there, he was caught in the blast too.

They were obliterated, oh no. They were actually transported elsewhere, but it wasn't to a place in their universe. It was a place completely different. One that even they wouldn't be used to from all of the endeavors they had taken throughout their lives in their reality.

Doctor Nefarious's head was killing her. Her vision was blurry and way too brights, and she just wanted to shut her eyes and make it go away. She groaned as she rolled onto her belly, every bone in her body sore. Even breathing hurt right now, in a way it never had before. Her vision focused, and she was in a meadow, staring into the dirt. Patches of grass tickled her body as she tried to adjust.

Where was she? This place didn't look familiar at all. Even though the meadow was nondescript, there was something off about it. It was too... she wanted to say "It was too detailed" but that didn't make much sense.

She sat up and looked around. She really was in the middle of nowhere. But about thirty feet away she saw a body. She crawled toward it, hoping whoever it was would be able to help, gritting her teeth as her sore limbs complained.

When she got closer, she was able to tell that the body in question was lapin, but the proportions seemed off. The edge of the rabbit's body was fuzzy, hazy; she was covered in fur. But Nefarious had never remembered fur having that texture, being so fluffy.

Was this Hopper? Why did she look so different? Where were they? Where were the others? Nefarious tried to think. Hopper had been right on top of her when the explosion hit, and now they were still together. Were the other Dreamchasers here too, just further away?

There, off in the distance in the same field as Nefarious, Sprocket was also there. His goggles saved his eyes from the blinding flash, but that didn't mean he felt all that great. He felt a little sick and sore all over, much like the bat lady off in the distance... Hold on, bat lady? Since when did Nefarious look so... Detailed and feminine?

Come to think of it, he just noticed his longs seemed longer here. They still looked bird like and everything but he was pretty sure he was not this tall or upright either. As he got to his feet, he looked down at his own body. He looked a bit more humanoid in terms of shape and his winged arms seemed to have been clipped slightly and now where his wings bent the most, had had these hands with digits with claws on the end of them. He looked behind him and saw that his tail feathers were still there along with his crest. He seemed more like an anthro bird now and it confused him of course.

Remembering the others, he decided to go find Inky before something else happened...

Meanwhile, Hopper had sat up with a hand on her head. Her vision was clearing up slowly and she was just sitting there, staring at Nefarious. Or was it Nefarious? She couldn't tell, this bat looked different and actually had a sizable rack on her... the grass seemed a lot more... High definition here too and it caused her to look down at herself. Seeing her fur being in a similar state confused her greatly before she looked to Nefarious and said, "What the heck did you do?"

She had no clue as to why she assumed this bat lady was Nefarious. Maybe it was the clothing she wore?
