Knuckles the fearless guardian of the master emerald and his home known as Angel Island was just returning to the great jewel's shrine. The echidna had left briefly to gather some sustenance for himself, his bounty a hefty brown sack of berries slung over his shoulder as he ascended the ancient stone steps to the altar while humming a happy tune. Only that happy tune came to an end when he reached the top to notice the master emerald glowing, sending a bad vibe through his senses that made him set his bag down. "Hmm, feels like it's warning me about something... But what could it be?" He thought to himself while scanning the area around the shrine, looking for further signs of trouble even in the sky as he knew Eggman liked to attack from above.

Over the horizon from behind knuckled were 3 large airships. One ship dropped down 3 robotic fighters, that were fairly bulky and meant for strength. At the same time, three regular robots dropped down near the temple, with a box, obviously meant to hold something, but their attention seemed to be on the emerald.

"Surrender or we will have to use force" one muscly robot announced in monotone.

"What the Hell?" Knuckles turned around and was shocked to see three large ominous flying ships as they deployed a troop of robot combatants, obviously there to make trouble for him. "Peh! Me? Surrender? That's not gonna happen!" The echidna's response came with a growl, the red guardian rushing down to the ground to confront the robotic intruders.

"I'll reduce you all to a pile of scrap!" He bared his teeth and went in to attack the closest brigade of robots, his powerful spiked fists slamming into a metal chest piece of one, then he leaped to uppercut another!

The robots, as valiant as eggman's, crumpled and were busted open, and soon destroyed by the echidna. The same ship dropped 6 more robots that were defeated just as easily.

The third ship that had done nothing, then began to rumbled and landed on the ground, before turning into a robot 5x the size of the others, and it simply moved to grab Knuckles with its hands, rather than attack or defend like the other robots had.

Knuckles was too preoccupied with the smaller bots, wrecking them and then anticipating the next group he saw descend. It was a dreadful surprise when he suddenly found himself caught. He let out a pained grunt as that giant fist clasped around him, squeezing so tight it was tough for him to breathe. "Grrr! Let go of me!" The echidna hollered, struggling and trying to beat his fists on the big hand that captured him. But he only managed to put some small dents in it.

The robot pulled the red creature to its mouth then put him in his mouth. Knuckles was now in a super strong see through metal that held him in the robot, then a gas was emitted to knock the prisoner out.

The leader of the robots got the emerald put away in the box, then it was back on one ship and they began flying away.

Knuckles was actually a little frightened as he was raised up and shoved into the gaping maw of the robot. He cursed when it quickly sealed shut and all he could do was pound against the see through metal, only to soon start coughing and watching with weary eyes as he lost consciousness. He felt like a failure, his last sight seeing his island start to fall from the lack of emerald power as he collapsed on the floor in defeat.

Knuckles was soon delivered to a large facility and was tossed into a cell, bound by laser cuffs around his wrists and ankles.

However a few hours later, a 6'1, 240lbs doctor, with short blonde hair and green eyes slowly scooped him up and began carrying him to a different room. It seemed odd, but the doctor had on a lab coat and black pants and felt the echidna waking up. "Just relax. If you make noise we'll be found" he warns.

Knuckles would have began thrashing and yelling the moment he started to come to. But luckily the knockout gas had really done a number on him and left his head reeling, causing him to wake with a grogginess the likes of which he'd never felt before. "nngh, wha?" he muttered drearily with tired eyes looking up at the stranger who was a blur. The events of what happened didn't register with him yet in his current state. "where... am... I?"

I don't know what they want it for, but they wanted to leave you guarded but like a rat or something, so I'm going to look after you" he explains as they entered a lightly colored blue room and the doctor set the boy on a changing table and began to unfold a thick white diaper.
