The girl eventually ate all of her food, licking her lips again and rubbing her tummy softly. "Mmm... that was weally good... thanks, Mommy..." She said, not noticing her adorable lisps or the "M" word as her full stomach filled her with enough happiness to unknowingly use such speech.

Severa's adorable little mannerisms were only helping her mother's mood. "I'm glad you liked it cutie-pie." She replied warmly, giving the teen a quick kiss on the forehead before cleaning her up and removing the bib. "Let me just clean up the table for a minute and I'll get right back with you."

Gathering their plates and utensils, the woman stood up and walked back into the kitchen area, the bulge of the pacifier in her back pocket visible to Severa for a moment before she turned.

The girl smiled, waiting for her mother to turn around before noticing the pacifier lodged in her pocket. She raised an eyebrow at the obvious protrusion, now finding it too difficult not to say anything.
"Um... Mom? What really happened while I was asleep? Be honest..." She simply said, looking up at her face instead of her back pocket where the pacifier was.

At that question Cordelia turned around, an eyebrow raised herself. Has she seen the pacifier in her pocket? Even if she had, how should she have known what it was? Her mother had to be careful with this, fearing a temper tantrum from the girl in the worst case scenario. "What do you mean sweetie?" She replied, walking back to Severa.

Cordelia was getting slightly worried now. What did Severa know? How did she get suspicious of the pacifier? But oddly enough, the girl seemed...calm. She had honestly expected the tomboy to throw a fit about it if she ever found out, but maybe she would take it better than she thought...

Deciding that there wasn't any point in hiding it from her anymore, the woman sighed in and reached behind her, pulling the soother out of her back pocket and putting it down on the theme between them. "I suppose you should know what happens when you drink from bottles sweetie..."

The girl watched as the object was placed on the table, proceeding to then look back up to the woman with a raised eyebrow. Her slightly-irritated look caved to a more confused one as her mother brought up this last part. "What? I really want to know. I'm starting to get kind of annoyed not knowing stuff..." She replied with a bit of a huff.

"It's nothing bad, I assure you." Her mother began, sitting down beside Severa and trying to figure out the best way to word this. "You...Well, you know how you usually fall asleep whenever you drink from baby bottles? Well that isn't the...entire truth. It seems that you don't really doze off; it looks like you just get so relaxed and comfortable that you might as well be asleep. Enough to where you don't remember anything about it once you 'wake up' from it.

"But you don't just get really relaxed; you get...happy too. I can't really explain it, but it's like you're having an incredibly pleasant dream. You're all smiles without a care in the world." Cordelia explained, not being able to hide a smile at this. The woman chose to leave Severa's more infantile mannerisms in this state out, as she figured the girl wouldn't take it well. "It's like almost like suckling motions can kind of hypnotize you somehow into a sense of extreme content. There's nothing wrong with that, I assure you, I just...see it as a way to help you relax. You're so happy when you're like that it just hurts me to end it...So I usually let you suck on your bottles for a good amount of time after you finish them, so you can stay relaxed for a little while. But having to balance a bottle in your mouth just for all that is cumbersome and really unnecessary...So I wanted to test out one of these to see if it would work better." She continued, picking up the pacifier.

The girl listened to each word carefully, her mixture of annoyance and confusion giving way to slight anxiousness and humility. So apparently whenever she suckled on something like a bottle, it brought her into some sort of trance-like state that caused her to forget everything and just be happy. It seemed true, given how open and honest the woman was with sharing, as well as how happy she herself was.

"Oh... um... I guess I... see why, then..." The girl was oddly compliant with this, not getting up in-arms from the prospect of having a pacifier shoved in her mouth. She looked down for a bit, staring at the pacifier... and she could not believe what she was currently thinking as she looked at it for longer and longer...

"Uh... s-so... it's... relaxing, right?"

This reaction surprised Cordelia as well, who had honestly been expecting at least a raised voice from the usually bratty teen. Severa acting like this though let the motherly woman keep her voice warm and assuring. "Well, you did seem to enjoy it before breakfast..." She replied with a little chuckle. "And there's absolutely nothing wrong with relaxing a bit sweetie..."
