Cordelia replied with a chuckle, honestly finding Severa's constant pouting more adorable than anything as she finished up her own mutton and milk. "I may just have to give you a bottle to start drinking from at the table..." She teased.

"Ugh, mother... stop making it sound like I'm a baby..." Severa whined, blushing as she crossed her arms and continued to blush as she tried looking away from her mother. It seemed that the most simple things flustered this "tough warrior"...

Seeing this, Cordelia smiled softly to herself and stood up with her dirty dishes in one hand. "I'm sorry sweetie. I can't help the fact I have an adorable daughter..." She cooed, leaning over and giving her a quick kiss on the top of the head as she walked by. The lady also took this moment to pick up Severa's dirty plates as well. "Whether you acknowledge it or not dear, I'm your mother, and I'm here to take care of you."

"Yeah yeah..." The girl said, though not pouting when her mother kissed her on top of the head. In fact, when the woman turned around, the girl had a small smile on her face that went away before Cordelia could see it. The meal being completed, the girl figured all was done here... except for one thing.

"Hey mom? ...thanks for the food." The girl said, giving a smirk and less of a genuine smile before going back to her room.

Laying the dishes down in the sink to wash, Cordelia blinked at her daughter's unexpected thanks, but just grinned warmly at her. "The pleasure was all mine sweetie. Thanks for joining me." She replied before Severa returned to her room.
"Looks like I won't be carrying her back to bed..." She said to herself with a chuckle, turning on the sink and getting to work scrubbing the dishes. Despite the quick altercation at the beginning, the meal actually gone well...maybe there was hope for their relationship after all. Maybe she would invite her to watch tomorrow's arial drills with her; this time before the Severa snuck out...

In the middle of the night, silence enveloped the home of Cordelia and Severa. Even with this silence, however, there was still some activity. The stealthy, crimson-haired girl slowly yet quietly cracked her door open, shutting it only when her body was out. Next would be getting out the front door in the same manner, but this should be as easy considering that it was a straight-away path down the hall and that the girl had practically mastered silent tiptoeing. Next would come going into the armory to retrieve her sword, shield, and armor. Considering that she was a Shepard herself and a trustworthy individual, she had immediate access to it. Next would come whatever personal goal the girl wanted to set for the night; running a specific amount in her armor, sparring with non-existent foes, cutting down decaying trees... just whatever she felt like doing that she felt could better herself. She'd conclude by returning her armor and weapons hours later and returning home, a comfy bed always waiting for her.

It was perfectly habitual, and Severa's mother didn't even know a thing about it...

Tonight, Cordelia wasn't exactly in bed either. She stayed up, silently reading a book while waiting for the crimson-haired girl to walk out. It wasn't so much as constant vigilance, the woman knew full well that Severa always snuck out at a particular time; and that time was just about to come around.
Sure enough, she heard the near-silent sound of Severa's door opening, and soft breathing nearby. Deciding to have some fun, the knight didn't make her presence known until her daughter was almost to the front door. "Going for a midnight walk dear?"

The moment she heard the woman's voice, the girl screamed and jumped what seemed like feet away from the source. Realizing the source in the darkened corner of the living room, the girl regained her composure... well, she didn't regain her composure, but she recovered from almost suffering a near heart attack. "M-mom! W-what are you doing up?!" The girl asked, still a bit in shock.

"I should be asking you the same thing." The woman in question replied casually, closing her book and standing up from the chair she had been sitting in for a good hour now. "I was just wondering if you'd let me know where you've been running off to every night for a while now..." As she said this, Cordelia walked over to her panicked daughter and gently put her hand on her shoulder. "I'm not mad at you honey, just tell me what's going on. I'm here for you baby..." Her mother said assuringly, her voice calm and compassionate.
