Severa just pressed it in the back of her mind for now, hoping neither of them would have to bring it back up later. "Well... it doesn't hurt nearly as bad as before... though I'm still kind of sore..." Severa replied, licking her lips as she was placed at the kitchen table. She would dig in herself, but her mother perfectly hammered in the point that she was weak and moving her arms would cause more strain and stunt the process of healing. So she had to wait patiently and glance down at the slab of meat on her plate, wondering what the woman was getting to begin with...

What was obstructed from the diapered mercenary's view by the countertops was Cordelia opening up the package of bibs she had bought earlier. Grabbing the plain white one, she returned to the table. "I'm glad to hear that dear. Anything that makes you more comfortable is worth it." The motherly woman replied, looking like she was just holding what looked like a white washcloth. But as soon as she reached Severa, she unfolded the bib and began to nonchalantly move to tie it around her daughter's neck. "Could you hold still for me sweetie?"

Severa figured it was a cloth, figuring the woman was going to just set it on her lip. Upon seeing the small string being tied around her neck, the girl's eyes widened with shock, then followed by fidgets and whines. "Mooooom! I'm not a baby! How many times do I need to say it?!" Severa insisted, now under the impression that the woman was doing this to lower her moral or get her back for all of the times that she acted bratty.

"As I've said what feels like a thousand times Severa, this isn't to embarrass you..." Her mother answered with a sigh, moving away with the bib as the bratty girl began to fidget and wiggle around. "The steaks are going to be juicy, and I don't want to risk any of it dripping down and making a mess on your top. So tell me dear, either we take your shirt off for lunch, or you wear a bib for a few minutes while you eat. Which sounds preferable?" She continued simply, hoping the stubborn child would see reason here.

The girl pondered the thought of having her shirt removed... but she narrowed her eyebrows. "You wouldn't even try it..." Severa grumbled in response, shooting her mother a cold stare. She certainly wouldn't go that far... would she?

In response, Cordelia simply raised her eyebrows and gave the teen an amused look. "Severa, I've been the one dressing and bathing you these last few days. Do you honestly think I would consider it that big of a deal if we had to take your shirt off if it meant you wouldn't make as big of a mess all over yourself?" She replied with a chuckle. "Plus, the longer we bicker about this, the colder your steak is going to get..."

"*mumblegrumble*... whatever..." Severa mumbled, it being the only thing the petulant teen could really say in response. There was no way she was going to have her way on this, but she hoped desperately that she could.

The woman just rolled her eyes. "Honey, I promise it isn't nearly as bad as you're making it out to be. I bet you'll even come close to forgetting about it when you start eating. There are plenty of adults who choose to wear bibs when they're eating messy foods. It's not like this has any baby designs on it or anything." She explained, making sure to leave out the fact that she bought it in a pack with two other 'baby' bibs. "Just please don't fight me on this Severa. Like I told you earlier, this is just for your own good right now, okay? I want you to enjoy your meal."
As Cordelia said this, she once again began to move the bib up to the girl's neck.

As this would start another drawn-out argument, as well as get in the way of her eating her meal, she decided to just swallow her pride for now and begrudgingly accept the bib. She'd have due reason to lash out if the designs were more babyish, but this was a plain white one. If she knew all of the other things the woman had bought for her, she'd be much more upset. But for now, she was just straight-up pouty.

"There we go...annnnnnd...done." Cordelia said with an assuring smile, fastening the bib around the teenager's neck. "See? That isn't so bad, is it?" She said, patting her on the shoulder before picking up the knife and fork she had next to Severa's plate. After cutting into the top of the steak a little to make sure it had cooked properly, the knight briskly cut up a section of the meat into little pieces, spearing one with the fork and moving it up to Severa's mouth, hoping she knew the drill by now for this kind of thing.
