That 'like always' didn't make Wendy any good, as she still continued to try and get out of weird creature's grasp. As her talking didn't help her one bit, Wendy just turned to something, she knew that the weird woman would understand, even if she didn't know English or any human language

The woman was clearly too strong too even notice Wendy's struggles and kept her gently but firmly in place on her bosom. Clearly not about to let go until she drank.
