There were seven demon lords all ruling the land, and the hero Masuta was smiling as she approached the castle belonging to one of them. She used magic that allowed her to absorb monsters and gain their abilities. And she looked forward to gaining the abilities of a Demon Lord.

The castle belonged to the Demon of Envy, its walls shifting and changing shape in the hopes of comparing to the castles of its ruler's kin. It was also the smallest of the castles, which was sure to aggravate its ruler. The door was open for any foolish traveler to enter and challenge its ruler.

Masuta smiled as she prepared her many abilities to tangle with the Demon Lord. “I’ve come to defeat you!” She called out as she looked around her surroudings for the demon in question, wondering where it was.

The castle was filled with statues, each different from each other, not depicting anybody specific. They were all depictions of what the ruler of this castle wanted to be, and they seemed to be pointing towards the ceiling of the chamber. The fingers pointed to a pulsating mass looming above Masuta, seemingly an egg, not too different from one of a fish, of some sort.

The egg opened up, and out poured a lot of liquid before they all converged and solidified into the form of a pale girl. She had blonde hair, no wait, now it was red, no, now it was black, no, now it was red again. She was indecisive about what form she wanted to take, always finding something she wants in some other form. She turned around, revealing her flaming red eyes, pointed ears, and horns; the liquid solidifying into a flowing orange robe. "I am Jealoth, the embodiment of envy," she said, turning to Masuta and inspecting her closely, as if looking for something she has that Jealoth does not. "Foolish trespasser, you have come to die a most painful death. I don't envy your stupidity, that's for sure."

Masuta grinned as her white cloak billowed in the wind of the castle, despite the small size of the castle. “The only one about to envy anyone is you when you envy my strength.” Her hand started glowing blue before she made a sword of pure ice. “Bring it on demon.” She said before she shot towards the Demon Lord of Envy.

Jealoth rolled her eyes at the blade, "How stupid. I could just take a candle off the wall and render you defenseless," she commented before shifting her clothes into a set of sleek armor, its design constantly changing. She shifted her hand into a sharp blade before charging at Masuda.

The two beasts of magic clashed as she swung her sword at the demon lords neck, the blade getting colder and colder with each swing. “Give up, I mixed and crafted abilities from various creatures to make them as strong as possible. A demon lord is no match for me.” She said, showcasing confidence even though she was on guard against the Demon Lord, knowing how powerful the seven demon lords were.

Jealoth side eyed the blade before making her neck liquidize, phasing through the blade with steam rising as her boiling liquidized form made contact with the ice cold blade. She did grunt in effort however, as the coldness of the blade made it difficult to stay liquidized, her body threatening to freeze as she phased through the blade.

Jealoth rubbed her neck, not at all expecting the blade to be that cold before charging at Masuda once more.

She widened her eyes before realizing she was caught off guard, having banked on the blade. She decided to pull off one last gambit.

Her ability allowed her to absorb creatures and use their abilities, but she had only used it on many weaker creatures, not knowing if a stronger creature would be too much.

But she didn’t have a choice now.

Her eyes glowed every possible color as strings shot out of her body and started wrapping around Jealoth, trying to drag her into her body and absorb. “MOBSORBTION!!!!!”

Jealoth tried to phase through the strings, but she found that to be an incredibly taxing task. "Wh- WHAT?!" Jealoth yelled before her voice became hoarse. She tried to thrash and break free, her body changing forms rapidly in panic before she panted in slight exhaustion. She resorted to trying to cut away at the strings with her teeth.
