When the kid was unable to find Kenor, he let out a frustrated yell and went back inside the store, stomping over to the camera and looking at the tape. "Fine then. I'll just track him down using this..."
Meanwhile, Kenor was probably better off heading home for sure now. If he could find his way in the pitch darkness and not really knowing where he was still...

Kenor wasn't afraid of the dark, it was hardly a enemy of his. He was a bat after all. Besides, he preferred the night anyways...So long as nothing jumped out and scared him because that would suck. He'd probably wind up somehow crapping himself even more. For now, it was just going to be him trying to find a way home. His recent escape suppressed the feeling of fear due to being lost, so he was good for a little while.

The kid at the store, meanwhile, began calling the police and reported a case of theft. The area they were in was close to a police station so they'd be there pretty soon. He wasn't going to let his pride get struck down so fast.
When they arrived, he explained the situation to them. It was only one patrol car because of the light nature of the situation, but the man agreed to take Kenor's photo from the video and head down the street for a patrol. He found that he was closer than he thought.

So Kenor basically wasn't exactly expecting the cops to show up. He didn't even realized they had been called on him initially, so he sort of just kept wandering around. He wanted to find a map and all of that good stuff. Problem was that he barely even knew how to read one, and chances were it probably would only map out this part of the city, not exactly the part where he lived, which sucked.
He did eventually notice those lights seemed to be hanging around him for a while, so he paused and looked back and sort of just froze. He didn't exactly know how to react to police officers so... Yeah.

The officer was a dog person. He parked the car and got out, holding Kenor's photo in hand as he approached him.
"This you son?" He asked, already knowing the answer as he held the picture taken from the camera out at the young bat.

"Um... No?" He said, sounding rather wavering with his answer as he was basically nervous. He never had to deal with a cop before, and the fact that he was still in a soiled diaper didn't help. And it was chafing him, making him sort of squirm around in discomfort as he stood there, innocent smile on his face.

The officer sighed and shook his head. "You know, you're way too young to be getting into a life of crime. I don't want to have to do this but, hey, the sooner they learn the better their future. Alright kid, hands on your head and turn around." He said, taking out some child sized cuffs. "We'll take you down to the station and see if we can contact your folks. Then we can work out how this'll be resolved."

Contact his... Oh that was bad, he couldn't let that happen. "W-Wait, wait, wait!" He immediately said. "You don't have to call anyone. You can just take me home and everything will be fine! They don't have to know!" Because he wanted to keep his head and not receive any further punishment from his parents. He was already late with coming home, stuck in diapers, messing up in school... His butt would be toast, probably literally, if he came back home, having gotten in trouble with the law.

"Look kid, it's either we contact your folks or we keep you in a cell." The officer stated. "If they don't pick you up, disciplining you falls on our shoulders after all." He wasn't being entirely truthful with the fine details but he was making it clear what the importance of this was. Still, he managed to turn Kenor around himself and cuff him while he was a bit jittery. He then led him to the patrol car. "If you still don't want us to call your parents, then you're just gonna have to do some time. The kid at the store suggested three days and he's got the grounds to press charges. If your parents don't find out he can enact it if he wants."
Again, he wasn't being entirely upfront about how all the fine details of the law worked here but Kenor was a kid so he let it slide.

Three days in a cell or suffer the wrath from an angry mother and father. He'd basically be stuck in his room for weeks, but... His parents would likely find our anyways if he was stuck in a cell for three days, and he'd be in even more trouble then. So, with his ears angled down as the cuffs were put on and he was lead to the car he said, "F-Fine, call my parents then, see if I care!" He sounded like he was about to cry because he knew just how utterly screwed he was.
Oh, and he was reluctant to go sit in the cat because... Well, he still had a soiled diaper that needed to be tended to. Seemed like that would happen soon enough, along with probably a bunch of other punishment.
